Thanks for putting up a post for the podcast! I feel honored!!! WORD UP!!!

Hay Admin do you have isdn where you record? or a simple phone line, we'd love to talk to you for the show next week!!

Passafist: Thanks for mentioning in the last post that my email didn't get to you in time! I tried recording with the sound recorder on my accessories but it records only for 1 min! I can't say everything in 1 min.! LOL So I guess I'll have to download the Audacity program for next week!

Thanks again for all your hard work. Although it did sound like you had a blast!

Awesome Maven,

I'm going to use you e-mail at the top of the show this week, kind of a review, and then we'll get into the show! Did you think the show was too spoilerish? I find it impossible not to speculate on spoilers, so I embrace them not really trying to ruin the fun?!?

I'm kind of curious to why you would need a button to communicate inside of an aquarium. I mean do the sharks and dolphins talk? And if there were sharks or dolphins in there wouldn't be full of water and anyone with them would have a dive suit on you'd think and couldn't talk.
Anyway just seems strange to me."

I dont think this will answer all your questions, but it's a start:

"Fa loves Pa!", for you 'Day of the Dolphin' movie fans. :-)

Congrats on your first podcast Passafist!

Re: ocean vs. tanks, etc.; the Hydra station doesn't have to be adjacent to the ocean, it could just have an aquarium tank. Those huge pipeline structures could be pump lines to get the saltwater to the tanks. The place where Jack was at looked to me more like a medical room for working on (tagging, tending, experimenting?) the specimens in the aquarium, on the table there, etc. The squawk-box looked pretty rickety and not very waterproof, so I don't think that it was used underwater due to electrical shortage. Perhaps that's why it supposedly doesn't work anymore, from a previous flooding. JMHO :-)

Good question about whether or not there was a "plant" or cameo in the Jack-back in this ep. If there was an Other at the AA meeting, they very possibly could have repeated Christian's words to Jack about letting it go. "I'll have to watch that again!"

Concerning underground rails, and such, remember that according to the hatch map there seem to be connecting tunnels, so there may be even more tunnels that we don't know about. Someone in the show (Danielle or Ana?) said that the Others just appear and disappear, so if there is a network of tunnels (think "the tunnels of Cu Chi" in Vietnam), that would also be a way to do that, and possibly the way that they snatched Cindy. The Others have certainly been there long enough to dig out some serious tunnelage.

Matt the Pale still has the Sri Lanka video up there.

Speaking of YouTube, Google bought them today.........
(puts pinky finger between front teeth)

for 1.6 BILLION dollars......

a dejavu Austin Powers, Dr Evil, moment :)

Capcom said...

TBM, well that's big news! But I hope that China doesn't start censoring Google about YouTube now too. :-(

As for Sri Lanka, I was hoping that someone might find some subliminal images in there if they went through it frame by frame. It's hard to pause it on each "frame" on YouTube, or at least I haven't gotten very good at it yet.

Tess315 said...

Thinblueline: thanks for the links.
I kind of thought along those lines but I'm not really sure if I can let myself go that way,but it could be a possibility.
After all people have been trying to communicate with dolphins for a long time.
But then you have to factor in the sharks, hummm still a good theroy though.
A lot of you guys are deeper thinkers than I am. Thanks again for the links.

thinbluemime said...

capcom, I think I did some caps early on, with the Sri Lanka video. But after a month of viewing the first few segments a Zillion times, I could repeat the dialog verbatim and I didnt need caps anymore cause I had Hanso pics stuck in my head.

I also now say "Security" with a Swiss-Danish accent. There is no hope ,LOL

One thing I wanted though from the Sri lanka video, was a clear pic of the document on the wall behind Hanso's monolog. I guess it isnt important now, but it may haunt me till the day Lost dies :)

thinbluemime said...

sayid'girl, you are welcome. And of course it is all pretty much speculation until the writers confirm it so, on Lost.

But the dolphin sounds that were hidden on the season 2 DVD bonus disk is a clue, to what, I am not sure at this time.

Capcom said...

TBM, yeah, I can definitely see how a person could get very sick of capping that entire vid, watching the needed umpteenhundred times alone to complete it, was as indeed enough.

I liked the way Mr. Beardy said "perpetuity", he sounded like the Swedish Chef on the Muppet show. :-)

Hey Passafist and Steve,

great Podcast - very professional, Ok so I know you're a radio professional but even so it was excellent, I did wince somewhat listening to myself (I can't believe how many times I said 'um'). I think I'll actually script my comments for next week so the flow will be a little smoother when I record it.

Maven look forward to hearing your comments next week.

Luckyguylikeme I like the idea of a live show , I am a big radio fan BUT I am an even bigger podcast fan. I like the fact that I can listen wherever I am. The other problem with a live show (forgetting all the technical problems) is that Us TLCers are spread not just across the US but across the globe in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Portugal (and elsewhere as well I'm sure). David/Passafist (not David/Admin) is in NJ which means if the show were to go out say 7pm, us Europeans would be tucked up in bed, those on the west coast would be chained to their desks at work or School and as for our antipodean friends, um Oh they'd be up to something.

I know Lostcasts tried their skypecast and whilst it was a valiant effort it was a bit of a tragic failure.

FYSB Love the Fast Food Dive in LOL - Looks like McDonalds in California have already thought of it though! Click Here

Passafist said...

A Live Show?!?! Hmmm.. I don't have the equipment to do that myself... I think it would be fun to try. As for the Um's trust me I spent 20 minutes just deleting all the needless umm's out of the podcast. You'd be suprised how much editing was done. I should post the raw stuff, it sounds terrible.

Morning, all! (long comment warning)

okay, I just heard the podcast, and let me say Thanks to Passafist and Steve for an awesome first 'cast. Dude! btw, so cool that my comments made the podcast! loved hearing Dark Angel too, many good points he made (did I just sound like Yoda?)

w00t!!!!!

Thanks guys....you rock!

Dharma food drops fully automated? nah, I don't think so. but Hanso did promise that provisions would be made in perpetuity. Lots of gov't programs run on and on without anyone questioning why we are doing it this way or why we are still doing it. Not too farfetched to believe that as long as the money keeps coming in, food drops will continue.

Anyone remember the brief series "Nowhere Man"?

Trust no one. Nothing is as it appears. Everyone is in on the conspiracy. Even you.

bwah! My head hurts.

Oh, and by the way, the Others could have gotten info on Jack from
1. Ethan's reports
2. Ben's observations from his own captivity
3. Jack himself while drugged (there are drugs that induce amenesia but allow interrogation)
or (my fav theory)
4. they have a telepath who reads your subconscious (while ur unconscious?)

just my random musings...

amused2behere Agree with you about the food drop. I like Passafist's idea but I think that the operation takes place in the outside world, sort of once a month, no questions asked the mysterious shipment goes out.

Cattygirl Love the avatar - what's the cat called - or is that you?

Well I better get back to work, I won't be around tommorow. I am going to a charity lunch for RADA (Royal Academy for Dramatic Arts). There should be quite a few celbes there so you never know maybe I can get an exclusive interview for the podcast!

blueheron13 said...

So, who besides Passafist (as he mentioned in the previous thread) has watched the video clip for Ep 2 that's been released on ABC's site?

I won't say anything spoilerish, but I just want to say that it is a strange clip in that it doesn't make me look forward to the show. I kept thinking while watching it that there surely must be something more interesting to tease us with.

maven said...

Blueheron13: I just watched the clip on ABC's site. It is a little strange, isn't it? But it still makes me want to see what's going on there.

FYSB said...

Not that I don't love all your cats, but now that we've gotten all those pesky theories out of the way, how about these topics for discussion?

1. Did Kate's shoes REALLY match her dress? I don't think so.

2. Was Ethan cuter as a plumber or a psycho killer?

3. What kind of book club serves coffee & muffins instead of wine & cheese? Not one that I want to be a part of, that's for sure.

4. Fishbiscuits...dolphin safe?

(oh and passafist, put me in the camp that really enjoyed the podcast. i loved your energy and enthusiasm! also love dark angel's comments after his disclaimer that he had not seen the ep)

maven said...

FYSB:

1. Kate's generic shoes go with any style of dress.

2. Psycho killers always make great plumbers.

3. I would belong to any club that serves food, no matter what kind!

4. Fishbiscuits are dolphin safe! I don't know about tuna safe, though.

FYSB said...

hmmmm....good points maven. though i would respond with...

1. shoes, yes, generic enough, though something with a slight heel might have been cuter.

2. i'm willing to overlook a lot of personal flaws for a fella who's handy around the house.

3. good point on the food, though a nice pinot is always welcome

4. dolphin safe - good, but are they south beach compliant?

Passafist said...

As for the clip it seems to be setting up this dynamic that sawyer is going to start paying for kates sins. It will be very interesting if Kat never gets shocked and poor sawyer does?!? Hmm.....

2. Agreed...everyone needs a Mr. Fixit!

3. No comment.

4. Wonder how many calories in a fish biscuit. Even captives have to watch their waistlines.

Capcom said...

FYSB and Maven, you always make my day!

1) If Benry wanted me to feel special, I would have preferred a sparkly wedgy flipflop, which would look good and also walk well in the sand.

2) Ethan creeps me out no matter what he does around the house. I'd just want him to fixit and leave, because he seems like the type that would go thru your undies drawer when you weren't looking.

3) I would serve brie, pate, caviar (the affordble kind, it's not too bad), fruit and spumante if I hosted a bookclub meeting. That's my favorite snack layout for special times.

4) I'm thinking that those fish bisquits might have something more than just fish emulsion in them, like sedation or fertility drugs. Or they could merely be giant Flintstones vitamins for bears.

FYSB said...

The wedgy flipflop!!! Of course, the perfect marriage of fashion and comfort for today's unwilling captive.

Good selection of snacks capcom, all tasty and all of which pair nicely with the gorefest at the end of Carrie.

Amused2bHere said...

Capcom: LOL Flintstones vitamins for bears!

So, to add to the questions:

What would you like to find out?

Amused2bHere said...

That was definitely a purposeful wording of Juliet's question, don't you think?

blueheron13 said...

Passafist,

Amused2bHere said...

Not "What do you want to know?" but "what do you want to find out?"

Maybe a subtle difference, maybe I'm making too much of it (after all, only one more day to LOST), but I was struck by her wording.

DiggityDirge said...

sup everybody.....just popping in to say hi. I am going to listen to the podcast and lurk for a while.

Anyone else excited for tomorrow?

tlcm said...

Things are slowing down. I've been lurking these past two days. LOST day never comes quick enough.

Oh, and Dennis, I watched epi 1 one more time and I must have been dehydrated because this time I heard Juliette say "Ben" not "red or ed or whatever..." chemo does weird things to your body and brain I guess...

hurry up LOST day!!!!!!!!!!!!

blueheron13 said...

I'm excited, but not as much as before the season opener. I think part of it is realizing that it will take a long time to get thorough answers to all the questions we've been speculating about, and part of it is it'll take some time for me to get used to seeing some of our familiar characters in captivity, instead of involved in adventures in middle of the jungle or in the hatch.

Someone commented a while back that it's like each season has it's own feel, almost like a different series. I think that's true.

blueheron13 said...

Also, I'm not sure how to watch Lost and the Detroit Tigers playoff game at the same time!

Hey! Quick question cause I thought of it and you all might know off the top of your head. End of last season...was there an earthquake before the sky went purple? I don't recall the ground shaking, but I could be hitting the pipe...wouldn't be the first time.

Melissa_Lossa said...

isibell - I'm pretty sure there was no earthquake before. I think the pulse itself made things shake (I do rmember things falling off of shelves in the Losties camp).

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Aradia said...

Melissa - Yes, there was some shaking, but not as much as there was during the book club meeting. I find that interesting. To me it would stand to reason that there would be more shaking the second time, but there was none (or very little). Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I must file that away for later.

Thanks!

Hi all, I know that theories and websites abound on the topic of our favorite show, and I also know that this message board isn't necessarily the place to promote websites, but I just though this was the best spot to announce a new theory I've got about the show. I think it's pretty good. I'm not that great with website-building, but I started a blog today that explains all:

http://lostinshangrila.blogspot.com/

I'd be honored if any of you would pay a visit and tell me what you think!

Capcom said...

Amused2bhere...what would I want to find out....hmmmm...I think we have a site with about 5,000 questions on it for those Dharma kooks! Any one will do for me. :-)
But maybe I would ask her about the snow globe effect though.

Tommy...I think it's OK to post that, other people have. We can never have too many places to speculate about Lost! The Shangrila aspect is very pertinent as well, I'll go read your thoughts on it. :-)

P.S. After seeing your Apollo bar image, I have a sorry request. The Apollo trade did not work out for me. I was supposedly one of the first twenty who signed up, and we first twenty were meant to get one each from a certain person, but it never panned out. I've emailed those in charge of the trades to no avail, have received no response, and there was no happy ending concerning Apollo bars for me (really for my nephews). If anyone has an extra melted one, or an extra empty wrapper, that they don't want or need, I will gladly pay for postage if you would not mind sending one out to an Apollo-less soul. I thought that I would take one last shot and send out this request to the Lost world. Thx. :-(

N.I.K - a solid theory and something i didn't ponder. But something I did think about...Jack Kate and Sawyer are the three people of the group that are outwardly curious. Meaning, they are the three people most likely to say "F* it, and what ever they say...I'm going to go where I want." Everyone else seems content to stay near the camp and the beach, which we can kind of see is about as far away from Othervill as you can get.

DiggityDirge said...

The Podcast is cool.....nice job Passafist. Couple comments.

I don't think Sara's new guy in Jack's flaskbacks is a spoiler. Spoilers are items derived from sources other than the show. Press releases, magazine articles, stolen scripts, write ups from the script, previews, etc. Something that happened in the show and people didn't catch it shouldn't be a spoiler in my opinion.

I also do not think Sara's new guy is Rodrigo Santoro. The pictures do not look at all similar. I also do not think Sara is an other or on the island.

I do agree that the others used their file info to break Jack. I believe that was the major point of the epi. Breaking Jack down. For what purpose? I'm sure we'll find out.

I also believe the file info is real. Juliett revealed too much personal data that has never been a big focus on the show. Jack never gave them Sara's name, and Juliett clearly says "Sara is happy" at the end of the epi. How did they know her name without the file? Also, how do they know Jack graduated from Columbia a year early, and what his specialty is a surgeon, and how many times he was married. I think the point of TBTP going into that amount of detail was to prove the file is real, but they were also hoping to provoke a reaction. Like "how did these island people get the file."

N.I.K.
You're latest speculations about Jack eventually "joining" the Others...that's what I was thinking. I like your ideas about how Kate and Sawyer are just pawns in the game for Jack. While I want him to be the stand out hero of the Losties, I'm afraid they're (writers/producers) going to take him way the other way. This will mean that one of the other Losties (or one of the new characters we've yet to be introduced to) will have to step up to fill his shoes for awhile.

memphish said...

Last little question before tomorrow's new epi. Why didn't Ben send someone to the cockpit section of the plane? Because they knew the smoke monster would take care of it? Any other thoughts?

Amused2bHere said...

ok, completely off topic--->

why is it that everytime I see a Jeep commercial I get a craving for Sprite?

must...resist...sublymonal...messages...

Amused2bHere said...

Memphish: I think they only saw two parts of the plane fall. The cockpit section didn't tear off until it was closer to the island, so Ben didn't know there were 3 sections, only 2. Or, perhaps he didn't think there would be survivors in the cockpit.

What really gets me is how the Benry said (when he was known as Fenry in S2 finale) "we're the good guys" and yet, at the beginning of S3, the others see the plane fall and instead of wanting to help, they want to observe. Surely the natural human instinct is to help... (has this been said before?)

IEAL,

That sort of thing has always bugged me about the "we're the good guys" comment and the rest of the good people stuff. If they are indeed good why not just explain what they are up to and convince via logic the chosen Losties to unite with them. Kidnapping and brainwashing -- I still can't figure out how these things are "good."

Happy Lost Day!

Did anyone see Evangeline on Ellen? I see there is a link on lostlinks.net.

Seems to me... I don't think Ellen really likes her. Disappointing interview.

CattyGirl said...

IEAL & Memphish, I agree with both of you. The first episode does not add to their argument of being 'good guys' at all.

I just watched the link in lostfanatic's message. How do things like that get released before the show?

Morning everyone:

FYI: The ratings for the previous week are out: LOST was #4! Pretty good, I think.

1. Grey's Anatomy 22.80
2. CSI 21.51
3. Desperate Housewives 20.96
4. LOST 18.82
5. Dancing with the Stars 18.38

CattyGirl said...

joann,

That video is right from the ABC site.

CattyGirl said...

maven, That is pretty interesting. Especially since Lost is the only show I watch on that list.

The Penuels said...

There are also two more "Sneak Peeks" posted by the YouTube user (DARKUFO) that lostfanatic referenced above. They are basically 1 minute scenes from tonight's episode.

A new post for "The Glass Ballerina" will be up on this blog at least an hour before the episode starts on the East Coast. We'll have a new post up of storiesofthelost.com by tomorrow morning. Get excited!

The Penuels said...

Maven,
Thanks for the ratings...I've been wondering but haven't gotten a chance to look into it yet. I hope they can hold onto the top 5...

Just so everyone knows, since I was out of the office for an entire week last week, I'm still playing catch and have been swamped. I'll be around a lot more hopefully next week once things get settled down. I've enjoyed lurking this week, but want to get more plugged in as the season unfolds.

*poof* (for now)

maven said...

cattygirl: Well, I must be really "with it" because I watch 4/5 of the top five (not CSI)! LOL

Hopefully, LOST will continue to keep up the ratings pace through the season. It's all about "the numbers" for network executives! LOL

Looking forward to the new post later today, Admin (even though you've "poofed").

Good Morning! GREAT podcast, passafist and goog (welcome!)!!

I also wonder how Benry can say, "We're the good guys". I have a problem with labelling people being "good" or "bad" per say anyway. Isn't it your actions that are good or bad?

Good point! The others certainly seem "inhumane" (hmmm, not human
?). And if there ever was a person who's human nature was to help others, it's Jack. I will be very disappointed if they brainwash him into becoming "one of them".

'Morning/Afternoon TLC friends. :-)

InEngland, that's a good point about the Others not having any intention of helping the crash survivors. Benry could have told Ethan and Goodwin to help out as much as they can, while they infiltrate as much as possible. Not a very altruistic or humanity-loving spirit in the hearts of the so-called "good" Others. I'm convinced now that Benry's perception of them being good, is strictly relative to whatever pre-Lostie people they were/are sharing the island with (who they think are Bad), and not to the general Golden Rule type viewpoint of what is good and honorable. Or Benry might think that the entire rest of the world outside of their dubious Utopia is bad and tainted, as well. I know that sounds pretty obvious, but I was giving the Others some judgemental slack up to that point. No more.

Thank you FYSB and others, for offering to help me get a Nanite Bar. [XO times infinity!] I've got a candy connection going now. You're all great friends!

Capcom said...

BTW Tommy, I ran out to get the "Lost Horizons" book last night for studying and comparison. Even if TPTB have used a lot of the book's plot for the show, I think it's interesting that they wanted to create their own updated version of the story, with modern technology, psychology, culture, etc. It will also be interesting to see if the Others indeed cannot leave the island because they can't leave it's healng or rejuvenating powers. Or like Rose, they just choose not to (accept for the case of Juliet, she sure seems like she would choose to leave if she had the chance).

CattyGirl said...

Maven - exactly! I feel really 'out of it'. ;)

...wondering if 'Heroes' will eventually have some ratings to contend with. I've really enjoyed the first few episodes.

Anyone sticking around for 'The Nine' after Lost?

Back to Lost talk... Any information of the little girl being taken out of the first episode completely? I was just listening to a podcast where they were bringing up some good points about storyline and those scenes being taken out.

maven said...

Capcom/inengland: Yes, agreed. Wouldn't your first reaction to seeing a plane crash is rush to help (didn't Jack to that right away?)? That's just human nature...Otherville is creepy and their first reaction is to protect themselves, not help others in need. Is is really good vs evil, though? Or self-protection and survival of the fitest? Making sure your way of life is uninterrupted and not influenced by outsiders.

Hi, Maven. I wonder if the others motivation is to protect themselves. How would any plane-crash survivors would be a threat to them? I agree, Otherville is creepy!

Yes, TBM. And Lucas was the biggest "lifter" of them all, which was why the first Star Wars movie got panned by the non-scifi critics as totally unoriginal. I myself loved it, in spite of that.

In my notsohumble opinion, any art that mankind does today at this point in the history of the world, is pretty much all rehashed and inspired from the efforts of those who came before us. As much as I dislike re-makes and so-called "hommage" (i.e. copycat)tributes (think Tarantino) I do sometimes like the idea of an old story getting a new spin ***as long as they call it something else***. E.g., the movie "Lost in Space" did not have anything to do with the essense of the original TV series, and was a bad joke. (IMNSHO) But, I digress as usual. :-)

Pyscouno - I believe they do, and that would be why our poor little Karl was able to pick two locks that fast. (I hate to say it but picking a lock like that takes more than a few seconds, even for someone with mad skills.)

Clever TBM! I really hope that TPTB don't kill off Sun, and that the trailer is as misleading as usual. :-O

I am glad you liked the Lucas clips.

Why no 2nd part?
YouTube has had to remove many videos because of copyright violations.
I pushed my luck to the limit, and posted only the essential Bill Moyer segments that applied to the Lost myth correlations.

I really wanted to post more, but decided not to. The whole Bill Moyers/Joseph Campbell series is excellent, and may be available at your local library or video store. I really wanted to post more :)

Ular, I am watching it on local news now (I'm in NY) Very scary, reminds me of 9/11

Amused2bHere said...

Goog, did you notice what Ben said to Michael: "follow that bearing exactly and you will find rescue" Not you will find home or land or civilization, but "rescue". Too carefully worded to be just directions home. I think the Others can leave, but don't have permission, or are being compelled to stay.

sean said...

there is coverage of the plane crash on every channel in NYC. is it the same in all the other cities?

Amused2bHere said...

see ya all laters, enjoy the show!

Aradia said...

Goog - Why do you think they Can't leave? Just because the don't doesn't mean they can't. I think that who ever "he" is...the "him" that Benry refers to when he's hold up in the armory, is the resason our Others are still there. I am positive that there has been direct outside contact with the island within at least the last 5 years (and I'm not talkign about food drops or plane crashes) and I think that file Juliet had really did have information about Jack in it, giveing the impression that they have some kind of data connection too. I realise it's very X files but in this case I think it's true, they are not alone.

Aradia said...

Ouch...and I promise next time not to get to over excited and spell-check my posts before posting them....sorry.

goog, *** POSSIBLE SPOILERS *****
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
.
The "Island" is in the Underworld. The underworld exist inside the hollow earth. The hollow earth's entrance, from the outside "normal" world, is located at the Antarctic. The "bloody snow globe" and Desmond's circular sailboat trip both allude to being inside a large sphere. More about this on tonight's episode 2 of season 3.

Now the Island is much larger then fans originally expected. In fact, from last weeks show, the island is a land mass approaching the size of a small continent. There are 9 groups of others. It takes a big land plot and many managers to handle the new arrivals to hell.

Are the Losties dead? Quite possibly. Can or will they ever return to the "Land of the Living"? Yes, some will, and many will not. What makes the difference? Luck? Good Looks? Physical Strength?

No. Then what will?

Will Power and the ability to use Intellect to the utmost.

I have some detailed explanations for some of these theories at my blog.
http://users.newblog.com/thinbluemime/

This theory will be vigorously resisted by most Lost fans. The Losties death state, will be disappointing to many, it was to me at first. But being in the underworld is only half of the long Lost journey.

The second half will require the Losties to find their way back home.

The BEST is yet to come!!!

I Love this Show!!!!!

Thinbluemime - Nice! I like it; As an idea, the way it fits into what we've seen thus far, the weirdness factor, all of it is great. I only have one problem with it. I don't believe that network execs have enough faith in the system to ever let a show with that kind of plot idea make it past them with just an outline. (supposedly what Lost did with its pilot.) Existential is awesome, but not mass marketable. And besides, I seem to recall a promise from one of the producers that everything that was going on was within the realm of reality (which I think makes the whole thing all that much more interesting. No magic or hocus pocus, just the human experience in all it's glory.) This is, however, not to discount anything you said...cause if that really is what's going on...then I'm so in. ;)

What should we expect to see tonight?

blueheron13 said...

I just listened to ABC's podcast. I don't think that what they revealed (which isn't always 100% right anyway) about last week's and this week's episodes is very spoilerish, but to be safe:

****** BEGIN SPOILER ******

1. Karl is an Other, but was not a plant - he was actually trying to escape and we'll find out more of his story later this season.

2. Ms. Klugh will appear later this season (so, in other words, she wasn't at the book club meeting).

3. The name of the Stephen King book was not given. The producers said they used a very rare book cover for that particular book.

4. This week's episode will focus on Sun, Jin, and Sayid, plus more on the captivity of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. The fate of those in the hatch will not be addressed until the third episode.

5. We may find out if Sun was unfaithful.

*****END SPOILER*****

Those were the highlights. They also said that some of the future podcasts would be in video format.

blueheron13 said...

One more thing...about the CD:

The producers cleared up one thing. According to them, the "Downtown" CD was in the wrong case. Juliet "accidentally" put the CD in the Talking Head jewel case.

In other words, it sounds like this was a minor prop goof.

maven said...

Hey, capcom, isibelle, goog, etc.: My small, simple theory is that the Others do not want to leave the island. They are the "leftovers" from the Dharma Initiative scientists and their families. They've created a hippy-like utopia (remember Dharma started in the 70's), and they are continuing research on their own. Their number one concern is to keep outsiders away, and that is why Benry and the others had that reaction when they saw the plane crashing...they didn't run to help the survivors, but wanted to infiltrate them so they can learn stuff to keep them away. Remember Mr. Friendly (in beard) telling Jack that "this is our island" and don't cross that line. They might be able to leave the island (or large land mass)...and they might from time to time to get "up-to-date" stuff...but they choose to live in their own little world.

Hey all
Happy Lost Day
I know the title of the Stephen King book but I won't post it cause I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
What I did was go to Amazon and searched titles with the letters I seen and found the cove I seen. I think most people have already guessed what it is.
I watched the video on abc looks like tonight is going to be a good episode. Can;t wait till 9:00

Aradia said...

But Maven...I think Juliet does want to leave...quite desperately. Thus the 'uplifting' music she played as she tried to buck herself up for the day. (Just the feeling I got from the looks she gave herself in the mirror. I've given myself those looks before.) I know some think that she was upset cause she was maybe breaking up with Benry, but Ethan fixing the plumbing is a very 'honey do' kind of thing. I'm more incline to believe that she had a thing with Ethan rather than Benry. Plus I'm sure that despite any hippy utopia set up (which is possible) they are definitely experimenting on that island. Remember Walt said "They make me take tests." I fully believe that those are Parapsychological tests, at least on Walt...but then again I love parapsychology so.... And the reason they observed rather than helped the survivors...bonus subjects for the experiment. Set up the survivors as the experiment with the others as the control maybe. Or maybe the plain was in that area for a reason. I still don't think it was the electromagnet that brought down the plane. What ever the case the experiments would be useless unless they had someone to share it with. If the Others were truly alone with no outside contact what would be the point?

did any of that make any sense?

Yah. I can't remember the quote either, though I know it was something about them still having free will. I remember when she said it i thought "humm....big brother anyone." It gave me the feeling that there are those in the others that are doing what they are doing because they are being told to, not because they want to. Good little solders are hard to find, and bad ones are easy to kill.
