Something's been bugging me about the last episode. Was it me or did it seem like time on the boat was going very quickly? It was night when the helicopter landed. It was light out when they brought that guy in from the stretcher and it was night again when the helicopter took off. And they seemed to be highlighting the time of day - showing the boat in the dark, in the light, at sunset, and in the dark again. I dunno, maybe it's nothing, but it struck me as odd.

Zort70 said...

Lostit- I think the time difference was more for us to see that the island time and boat time were different in some way.

Zort70 said...

Yeahhh, I'm getting to listen to two TLC podcasts today.

Zort70 said...

On the podcast the guys talk about the two extra hours over the next few years.

So where is the middle episode then, we talked a while ago about the middle, but since then at least 3 more hours have been added !

Zort70 said...

Incidentally I watched the new version of the Andromeda Strain yesterday with Daniel Dae Kim.

He was fine but underused in it, overall it was a bit of a mess, trying to introduce plot elements to liven things up that ultimately just confused things.

Good Morning everyone! Non-participatory me is marking for e-mail.
Hooray big podcast, and also that it's actually in iTunes today! Off to commute to work and listen.

memphish said...

Zort, The total number of episodes in the final 3 seasons remains 48. 14 hours in Season 4, 17 each in Seasons 5 and 6. I'm not quite sure what you mean about the middle episode.

Zort70 said...

Memphish, So if the first three seasons have 69 episodes then halfway through episode 58 is the mid point of the story.

That would be Enter 77 I believe

memphish said...

Sounds good to me Zort. I guess the other way to figure out the midway point is by hours. Each season so far has had a different number of hours. I'll leave it to you to do the math. :-)

Hi All! If you haven't seen the results of the theories roundup that TPTB looked at, you can check out the best one (as per TPTB) and a link to the rest over on: http://nicoleslost.blogspot.com/

Don't worry about the big spoiler sign that she has up, she always puts the spoilers after the jump-link so no one sees them if they don't want to. The theories post is the second one down at this time. Her blog is a good one.

Zort, you saw the Andromeda Strain already??? I don't think that it's aired here yet, I've been looking for it in the guide. That's interesting that they seem to have tried too hard with it. My younger brother, who is 40, thought that the original was boring, but I have always like it a lot. It's just made in that cerebral kind of way that movies were made back then, so maybe they tried to punch up the modern version of it too much. :-) Thanks for the review of it!

For some reason I keep thinking back to when Christian said that Aaron was where he was supposed to be - and in that moment, there was a shot of Sawyer holding Aaron. Do you think that's just by chance or do you think that was intentional?

When Jack is visiting Hurley, Hurley asks him if he really thinks he's supposed to be the one raising Aaron... Not really sure about it, just thinking...

I just listened to the podcast. Good job, fellas.

And a very blessed wedding to the Goog and Mrs Goog!

Random thought of the day: If Locke is to Ben as Jack is to Locke, then is Juliet to Jack as Kate is to Sawyer?

j/k, i'm just messin' with ya ;)

Maybe they "took" Claire (who I don't think is dead, but rather drugged or something) thinking that if Claire and the baybee are seperated, that no way would Aaron be taken off the island without his Mom. Could it be that the Losties screw this one up for them? If Aaron is "where he's supposed to be" and he's with Sawyer (who seems to be accepting the fact that he's staying on the island), then Aaron is safe, since Sawyer is strong, seemingly bulletproof (lol), and in a protective mode right now. They feel Aaron is safe and will stay on the island.

Black Swan said...

Ok, back to listening to the podcast, which I'm enjoying VERY much....

And, A BIG CONGRATS to Good and Mrs. Goog!

Capcom said...

I just watched the three new previews, and I only have one non-spoilery thing to say.....Jack is such a tool. I hope that his stitches pop open.

Juliet is not a slut, Amused! :o)

I like that train of thought Codysmom. Boy, the so-called best laid plans of mice and men on this show! No wonder TPTB picked a book with that title, everyone's plans get messed up all the time.

memphish said...

Harper might disagree Capcom.

Amused2bHere said...

I wonder...

when will Mr Abaddon collect on the favor that Locke owes him?

what was the meaning behind the exchange of looks between Mrs. Locke and Alpert?

why did Locke try so hard to deny his inner geek? Doesn't he know geeks are hot?

where are the black/white stones right now?

Capcom and Memphish: LOL!

Amused2bHere said...

I can't help hearing the Muppets singing the "Cabin Fever" song everytime I read the title of last week's episode(from Muppet Treasure Island)

Here's a thought: When Faraday tells Desmond that he needs a constant, Des asks if it can be a person. Faraday says yeah I guess so. But doesn't that mean it can be an object?
Could this somehow be connected to the items that Alpert was showing Locke?

Black Swan said...

lol, guys... yeah... I think Juliet's a slut, for sure. Like memphish said, just ask Harper. And to reiterate... I STILL DON'T TRUST JULIET.. ha ha

amused, as far as Abaddon collecting on his "you'll owe me one, John (Locke)", hmmm. As in the podcast, Abaddon is the catalyst to getting Locke on the island, seemingly working for Widmore. If John is the new "Jacob oracle" instead of Ben, Abaddon will think he's got an inside track to Jacob because Locke is his "friend". I think Abaddon will be surprised that Locke doesn't remember him... after all, Locke didn't remember Richard Alpert, did he?

LOL, the muppets singing "cabin fever"...

And, good question on the objects being a constant... could be (why not?)

I think the meaning behind the looks between "Grandmother-of-the-year" and Alpert were very telling that they had met before and I wouldn't put it past her if she sold her soul (or her grandson's) to the "devil".

maven said...

Morning all!

Two great points, Codysmom: Leave it to our Losties screwing up Aaron's destiny and taking him off the island! LOL Maybe that's why Jack needs to go back so badly...to "course correct" and get Aaron where he belongs.

And Abaddon telling Locke he'll owe him one: Maybe what he'll owe Abaddon are the secrets behind Jacob.

Amused2bHere said...

hmm. Or perhaps it was Emily that she sold, to be used to breed the next chosen one?

Verrry interesting....

Capcom, all I can do is give the Andromeda Strain a big thumbs up. (You'll understand when you watch it)

FYSB said...

I don't need previews to tell me that Jack's a tool, but I'm glad to hear they validate the description. Watching his own appendectomy was just the last in a series of tool-esque actions. I think Juliet should sedate him more often.

I think Juliet is just misunderstood. With a harpie like Harper for a wife, no wonder Goodwin moved on.

Black Swan said...

fysb, maybe that's what Juliet was doing inside Jack (other than taking out his appendix)... she installed one of those things like dogs wear to make them quit barking... lol. She's got this little button on a remote and she can make him shut up whenever she wants to. lol

I think it's Harper that's misunderstood. She saw Juliet's huge ego right from the start and tried to bring her down a peg. And when she found out about Juliet and Goodwin's affair, she worried about Goodwin's well-being. I don't think I would be that generous.

Capcom said...

Excellent Zort, I can't wait to see it!

LOL Amused. :-D

Yeah FSYB, I thought Harper/Harpie as well. And I still think so far that Juliet is more good than bad.

From your typing fingers to TPTB ears, Codysmom, about an implant for Jack! Give me the zapper remote!!! But you really think Harper's the better woman? I do get though that she knew that Goodwin was done for by Ben, if he ever touched Juliet. But.....no one twisted Goodwin's arm, he was flirting with her. BTW, every time I see that Juliet/Goodwin beach scene I always think of the Taylor/Burton beach scene in The Sandpipers (I doubt anoyone's seen that old flim tho). :o)

Black Swan said...

capcom, I don't think we know enough about Harper or Juliet to really say who's the better woman, but if someone asked me who would I rather my husband go on a business trip with, I'd pick Harper... lol I just think there's so much more to Juliet that we don't know. She's such a different person than when she was in Miami with her sister. I didn't like her then, either. She was a mouse then and now she's a rat, IMO.

I think I saw the Sandpipers like maybe 4 decades ago.. I don't remember a thing about it. Might have to check it out.

Yeah, wouldn't a Jack-zapper be great? Everyone he's close to should have a remote for that thing. lol

i think its possible, that claire is just drugged or her microchip is controlling her, but not just because they want aaron off island, I think christain has some kind of purpose for claire to stay, maybe ben as well. Interesting that locke was a miricle preamy as well as ben, and claire gave birth on the island, I think locke ebna nd aarons dna may be a clue to solving the fertility problem.

intersting observation, when emily was saying lockes name, she yelled out" his name IS John" most people would say name him john or some similuiar way, very much like bens mom being so adament about he being ben. I wouldnt be surprised if emily locke had some kind of clue what was going on, I almost thought she made some agreement like claire to give up john, and that why she could never hold him

2costa said...

the producers said something interesting the other day about alternat time lines and tweak that desmond has made, they said something to the effect that since the crash in 2001 to now on the island this is happening for the first time. Made me think that this has played out before on the island, but for the flight 815'ers this is the first time around. Flight 815 itself and its passengers are the wild card of their game, either ben or widmore had this all play out and didnt like it so one of them went back and found a deadly crash or whatever and set up the circumstances of the freckage and introduced 815 to the timeline on the island. otherwise all the millions spent on the freckage seems like a crazt risk to take banking on this small window for 815 to crash on the island, while desmond is not pushing the button, to me it seems like the freckage is only plausible if wodmore or ben already knew exactly how things were gonna go down, maybe the island was by the sunda trench when desmond couldnt get quite to the button, and the island moved to fiji when locke didnt push it, maybe the sawn was like a lojack for the island made it impossible to move as long as button being pressed. To me its a question of how well ben can time travel if he has precise control, somebody like christain, ben could have snatched him out of time brought him to the island and he could put him back right where he took him from the timeline, while he was alive and nobody would know the difference that he was ever gone

Black Swan said...

memphish, thanks for the heads-up on Leno.

And, I don't understand the commendation by Hanso in Harper's "office", either. It could mean many things:

1. Harper was one of the Dharma "smart enough" not to end up in the ditch. I would include her husband, Goodwin, too in this since he was the one working in the chemical-killer tempest plant.

2. Harper is Widmore's mole

3. Harper's name isn't really Harper and she is just using the name/certificates that once belonged to a (now-dead) real Dharma psychologist.

Capcom said...

LOL, from a mouse to a rat!. :-D

The Sandpiper is good but dated. Taylor's a single mom artist living on the beach in California, who is all womens-lib-fierce and raising her son to be a noble savage kind of. Burton is a married priest of a parochial school that the authorites send the kid to, and Burton falls for Taylor of course.

"Evangeline Lilly will tell some weird personal story"...LOL, too true!

FYSB said...

Interesting question, codysmom, as to who you'd rather go on a business trip with your husband. I just like Juliet because I think she's so interesting and complicated. She's the most like a real person...she's not passively accepting her place on the island.

Black Swan said...

"noble savage" lol, sounds like the "new" Sawyer. Thanks for the recap on "The Sandpiper", capcom!

I don't know fysb.... you say Juliet is the most like a real person, but if my ex-husband was making out with his new girlfriend while I was sneaking serum out of the lab.. and he had the audacity to ask me to turn out the lights on my way out, I wouldn't comply. I think it would be more real to yell at him, "who do you think you are, you *&&*(*((*)(? And, how about giving the new girlfriend/assistant a heads-up on what kind of bastard he is? Aren't we women supposed to stick together? I think Juliet keeps quiet and complies because she's more interested in her work being successful. This could be another reason she was recruited... she prizes her work above all else and is willing to sacrifice people along the way. She drank that OJ so fast, even Alpert was surprised.

memphish said...

I'm just starting in on the podcast, but it's given me some ideas.

I like what the guys said about John the Baptist and how his father was struck dumb for lack of faith. This of course reminds me of John Locke being struck dumb when he gave up on the Swan button.

But the bigger thing to me is the issue of names and roles. I think Alpert is playing a role similar to Samuel, God's prophet in Israel. To follow along with that I think Ben is a King Saul type. Both even lost their children because of their own bullheadedness and insistence on the path of war. Where things start to diverge is I think Alpert in seeking out Locke is trying to find a King David in his own rather than God's power. When God sends Samuel to annoint David, Samuel first thinks he's meant to annoint David's bigger, stronger, older brother. God tells Samuel that Samuel is looking at outer rather than inner things. I think Alpert is doing the same thing, and is such is seeking to annoint the wrong leader. That in part may explain why Jacob is not there to meet with Locke. I think the ultimate Island leader is meant to be Aaron or possibly Walt.

To press it even further, Locke being named John would suggest that he is the mere forerunner sent to prepare ye the way of the Lord. He's making the path for Jesus figure which I'd guess is Aaron Shephard. And if you want to push even farther, that means we'd be looking at a Shephard sacrificing himself for his sheep which could mean that the choses one is actually Jack.

FYSB said...

Good points, codysmom. When I say "real" that includes her flaws. And I'm also focusing on the Juliet of now, a person who's evolved due to her experiences. I'm not saying she's necessarily good or bad, just complex. I think she's had it with being a mouse, had it with doing things she doesn't want to do or believe it and she's going to do what it takes to get off the island. To me, her complexity makes her a terrific character. (and compared to two-note Jack - oh, i've got to save everybody and i have daddy issues, even more compelling)

Capcom said...

You all have such interesting thoughts and comments!

In defense of Juliet's mouse phase, when I was younger I used to be very passive and I let people walk all over me, and if I was in her position THEN, I would have reacted as lamely as she did. Then I grew up and grew a spine like Juliet, praise the Lord! So I can understand the dual nature of her previous passivity and current balsy-ness, cuz I'm like that now too.

That's a good point you make about Samuel and Saul, Memphish. Also, the people were supposed to wait for a king that would be more faithful to the Lord, but they demanded a king immediately hoping they'd get one that would be more lax or lenient with them, so they got Saul, who messed things up a bit you could say. That's maybe what happened on the island, they didn't wait for the leader they were supposed to get (John?), and they picked Ben instead, and he got them into trouble. It's sort of similar.

this is from lostpedia i guess ben was singing a differnt tune last week(it wasn't my decision)
There are two statements which define the Purge. Mikhail Bakunin said "They (DHARMA) foolishly initiated a war against the Hostiles, the Purge they called it." Ben Linus on the other hand said "When it became clear that one side had to go, that one side had to be purged, I did what I had to do."

Another statement by Ben sheds some light on the time frame and death toll: "Not so long ago, Jack, I made a decision that took the lives of over forty people in a single day." ("Through the Looking Glass")

It was revealed in Season 4 that a DHARMA station called The Tempest, which was an electrical and chemical weapons development facility, was what the Hostiles used in the Purge to gas the Initiative. ("The Other Woman")

Subject: Vaccine Research Gone Amok -- Scientist Loses Arm, Found Dead

OK, this may not mean anything, but I was just looking up something that I vaguely heard while listening to the Coast-to-Coast radio show (formerly the Art Bell show) in my sleep, and they were talking about this woman researcher who worked on one of the early polio vaccine projects. She was found dead, burned, but mysteriously with her arm and part of her torso missing, or more to the point (he said), blown off. Here's some of what's on the site:

"Haslam traced his interest in the story to the strange murder of noted cancer researcher Dr. Mary Sherman in New Orleans. Intrigued by the sensational nature of her demise and the quick closing of the police inquiry, he unearthed clues which actually suggested that Sherman had been the victim of "what I will politely call an 'industrial accident.'" He speculated that Sherman’s involvement in underground research using monkey viruses was ultimately the cause of her death."

"In explaining the origins of this research, he noted that early polio vaccines had been grown using monkey kidneys. In turn, this practice accidentally tainted up to 100 million doses of the vaccine with a cancer-causing monkey virus. In an attempt to develop a benign strain of this virus, researchers secretly used a linear particle accelerator to mutate the disease. It is this high voltage piece of equipment that Haslam thinks caused the unusual and extreme burns found on the body of Mary Sherman."

And Wiki says about her: "In 1964, Sherman was stabbed in the heart, arm, leg, and stomach. Her mattress had been set afire, but investigators determined that the massive burns inflicted upon her could not have come from the smoking mattress. There was a small fire in her apartment, and smoke, but her death was caused by a stab wound to the heart. There were hack marks made from a butcher knife on her torso. Her body was cremated."

The guy on the radio show (who just published a book about the incident) said that in his estimation, it seemed as if she was stabbed and such to be put out of her misery, from whatever had caused her to lose her arm...and then she was further burned after the possible mercy killing, and placed to make it look like a home fire accident.

I dunno, but it just struck me as very LOST plot-like. Especially with the particle accelerator, and with TPTB recently hinting that they have a very strong interest in the new Hadron collider.

Capcom said...

Whoa, sorry for the long post!

Capcom said...

FYI for any conspiracy peeps out there (2costa? heheh), I just found a video interview with the author, and he explains the incident at about 6 minutes in. He explains how he thinks the scientist may have gotten electrocuded by the accelerator, and feels that the initial accident could have been an act of sabotage, to expose the secret experiments. Sounds like something that could have happened with the DI's incident maybe. Next time we get to ask TPTB a question, I'm asking if they know about this story. :-)

From yesterday, I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't LOVE Juliet as a character. I do! Juliet is a wonderful complex role and I'm still trying to figure her out (same with Ben). The fact that I'm still not sure about trusting her is a testament to both the writing and acting skills that keeps me loving the show!

I came across this observation Erika's analysis on darkufo and thought it was very cool...

"For those of you who don't keep up with the comments for each post, I wanted to draw your attention to an especially interesting idea that came out of last week's write-up. I had pasted in the dialogue between the psychic and Claire, and after Claire questioned his insistence that she now give her baby to a "couple of strangers in L.A." instead of raise it herself, the psychic replied, "They're not strangers, Claire. They're good people."

What if the psychic not only foresaw the crash (he did insist she go on Flight 815 specifically, remember), but also knew that Aaron would/should end up living with Kate and Jack (or someone else) afterward? The whole "they're not strangers" thing is kind of suspicious in hindsight... because the people who have Aaron in the future ARE in L.A. and are NOT strangers to Claire."

David or Steve,

If you are out there could you let me know something about the devil advocate podcast. Have you stopped uploading to Itunes?
The last one there is still the 4-7-08 one and I thought i heard you mention in the lost community podcasts that you have recorded 2 since then.
Is there another way to get it?
I emailed you but you have not replied ... yet.

On topic:
I have to agree with the idea that time was wierd on the frieghter this week. I definitely did realize that something was off there. The helicopter landed in the light and one guy was pulled off the helicopter at night, but there was only 4 or 5 soldiers on the heli. So why is that this happened. Are we to assume that it had something to do with fluctuations in time or was there another mission to the island that we did not get to see, or did something change with all the time travel type stuff going on. Maybe the helicopter returned at night only after the supposed jump that Ben... might have taken. Hmmmm?
I just don't know anymore.

So Amused,
Are you suggesting that Emily is Rosmary (from Rosemary's Baby?... lol

On the Locke might not remember Abaddon like he didn't remember Alpert topic, the same could be said for Desmond and his bump with Faraday. For time travel without changes, things sure do change alot. I am thinking the course correction theory might have been a red herring... lol

As for the Jack not being able to get Aaron back to the Island because it has moved, maybe that is why he goes so crazy with his maps at the end of season three. Plus the idea that he wants the plane to crash so he can get back. If the Island isn't there he would just be dead or lost in the ocean, or on another island somewhere... sucks to be Jack (but we knew that...j/k)

FYSB said...
I don't need previews to tell me that Jack's a tool.

On the Harper Hanso Certificate. It isn't a diploma or anything, seems like just something a company would give out for services rendered. Maybe she was sent to the island to make sure what happened with the purge wouldn't happen again. She is keeping everyone there sane in some fashion.

Okay thats enough for now... check back in later.

This makes total sense. The psychic first told Claire that she shouldn't give up her baby for adoption, she must raise him herself. Then he does an about face and says he arranged for this couple in LA to adopt her baby and she should take this particular flight. Something makes me think that Christian played a hand in all this manipulation of Claire to get her on this plane and arranging for Jack and Kate to eventually be with Aaron.

I also doubt that a 5 years old boy (that's since been through a lot of things in life) would not remember a man who visited him for 5 minutes. Remember, all Locke got was a Mittelos brochure when he was a teenager and never saw Alpert.

Dennis said: As for the Jack not being able to get Aaron back to the Island because it has moved, maybe that is why he goes so crazy with his maps at the end of season three.
Totally agree with you...makes the most sense. Maybe the O6 were not supposed to take Aaron away from the island and now Jack must return the next Chosen One.

lost2010 said...

You would just love to see that Malkin guy's premonition if he had one. It would be so cool if what he flashed to was Jack and Kate in the LA airport holding the baby as the Oceanic 6 are walked off the plane. In a creepy kind of way. . .

memphish said...

I've got pretty mixed emotions about the preview for tomorrow night's episode. I think it's going to be really odd to see the O6 return the world knowing or worse not knowing what's happened to the rest of them. The idea of watching them ALL lie -- not just Kate and Sun -- is somewhat disturbing too. And of course there's the flash forward info we have about Hurley who's staying off his meds to talk to Charlie; druggy beardy Jack; rejected by his uncle Aaron; growing up without her father Ji Yeon; and lost the love of his life and willing to work with Ben Sayid.

Well, we've seen all the characters lying and/or being secretive and/or hiding information that just might be helpful to others! And we've seen them living the lie as the O6. I tend not to watch the previews too seriously since the ABC Promo Department took manipulations lessons from Ben! LOL

lost2010 said...

Or Ben is the writers' manifestation of the promo department - it could go either way I guess. . .

LOL, Lost 2010!

Codysmom and Capcom were talking about Juliet's mouse to rat transformation. wasn't Carrie's coming of rage similar?

"Coming of Rage", oooooooo, I like that! "Carrie" is Juliet's favorite book, too. Also, thanks for the info on Lostscape...

memphish, thanks for the DVR alerts

maven, you're right about Locke only actually seeing
Alpert when he was younger. I was thinking he also saw him in highschool.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

Capcom said...

I'm having trouble believing that Locke was born in '56 or '57. No offense to TO'Q, but I also thought that he looked the same age as Cooper, not nearly younger enough to be father and son.

Black Swan said...

capcom, it always made me laugh to see how they depict Locke when he's younger... comb-over... lol

On the other hand, I totally believe Locke could be born in '56 or '57 making him about 50. That would have to make Cooper in his late 60's, at the very least for him to be the real father. But to make Cooper twice Emily's age at the time, he'd have to have been at least 30, so no, that wouldn't work, unless Grandmother-of-the-year was exaggerating and whoever Emily was hanging out with was just a couple years older. I tend to believe "crazy" Emily that John Locke was immaculately conceived anyway:) and I think the man twice her age she was hanging out with was Alpert. Maybe Emily was right about her mother being jealous. So Mom goes to see "him" and falls for his eyeliner (and unlimited-cash)and makes this stupid deal about Emily being used as a gunea pig?

Capcom said...

Well, what I mean is, Locke/TO'Q doesn't LOOK 50. That is, he doesn't look younger than me, he looks about 10 years older than me, so it's hard for me to make the link in my brain when watching the show that he is supposed to be a few years younger than I am. :o)

Nicole has an interesting article that lays out the Philly and Montauk experiments to keep in mind for the show. It's a good article.

http://nicoleslost.blogspot.com/

Reading it made me wonder something...maybe the "Incident" was also an accidental moving of the island. Like, the first time it ever happened to the DI. So it moves, goes in and out of phase, and people get stuck in the island in various ways, like Fenris has speculated, similar to the Philly Exper. After that, they learned how to do it on command with their equipment that "controlled" it. Of course, that really has nothing to do with duplicate bunnies, so it's probably not the case.

Happy LOST Day!

Question for the blog: Was it just fortuitous that Flight 815 crashed at the right trajectory on the Island so that time for the 815ers and time in the real world is essentially the same? And what about Desmond's boat crash? Or is it the case that they came through at a point at least 4 years in the past so that Locke could walk and Rose was in remission? But then why doesn't everyone de-age? The whole time thing is still messing with me.

I also read Doc Jensen by scrolling quickly past the first 1/2 of page 1. I'm assuming the level of spoilers there is about the same as usual, but I don't want any. But back to Doc -- he has a good and interesting idea about the 815ers who get left on the Island. And his wife has a very interesting Smokey theory. The rest is J. Wood level of literary/philosophical analysis.

Happy LOST day LoCo's!
I am sooo sick. Have been since the weekend. I'm behind on all the good comments you've been making, but that will have to wait.

Thanks for the updates for the Talk show circuit. I saw Evie on Leno, but didn't stay up to watch her on Kimmel last night. Was it any better? Her ear tug/thumb suck thing on Leno drove me nuts. eh anyway. I'll have to set the DVR for Josh and Foxy.

Thanks for the update on Doc Jensen memphish. I was just getting ready to go read it, but wanted to see if anyone had "spoiler checked" it first. I am trying to stay completely spoiler free for the finale.

Have a great day ya'll. Hope to be back in the discussions soon.

Scoutpost sorry to hear you're sick. Hope you feel better soon.

scoutpost, feel better soon! At least you can look forward to tonight!

I saw Evie on Kimmel and I thought she seemed more relaxed with him. She was eating a sub he gave her, so her hands were kept busy (actually a genius idea by Kimmel, although I don't think he thought she'd eat it during the interview). They talked a little more about Lost and even showed a video which was an extended version of the preview.

capcom, I decided to look it up. Terry O'Quinn was born July 15, 1952. So he's 55. Anthony Cooper (played by Kevin Tighe) was born Aug.13, 1944 making him 63 so you're right about it not being a father/son age difference.

I'm going to read Doc Jensen, being careful to avoid the "tease"....

i think the incident did involve moving the island, but they were already learing to control it in the orchid video, i'd be willing to bet that the incident is how that polar bear got in the desert. I think after the incident the swan was changed to handcuff the island and the orchid so that widmore or hanso could find it whenever they wanted, if the island has been moving a lot then how could the food drops still be coming, well they havent since the purpling...

2costa said...

the producers spelled out that desmond didnt meet faraday at queens college the first time around(prolly why he never knew penny had moved or her new number, hence how widmore had all his letters to penny when he got discharged, so desmond wouldn't remember dan until dan decided to send desmond to meet him in the past, they have said explicitly that the two times desmond traveled back were new incidents and would somewhat change the timeline. I would even venture to say that Desmond never would have called Penny from the army that day had he not timejumped...

2costa said...

Remember when locke was trying to convince eko to stop pushing the button, he was like we are all pawns and we wont be free until we stop pressing it... seems to jive with my swan handcuffed the island theory, they wont be free to change the timeline until the swan is gone, fate is set as long as the 108 clock is being punched.

2costa said...

i think part of why locke was led to the pearl was to see that outdated pearl film that made the swan seem like it was a psychological experiment, maybe the swan started out that way, but after the incident it really was doing something, all part of bens plan to unyolk the island

Happy Lost Day, LoCos!

It's a jungle out there amid the spoilers. Beware!

It's getting so you can watch the morning news without someone saying something about tonight's episode.

Let's have a show of hands:
How many of us think we'll actually see the O6 get to LA tonight?

How many think we'll see them arrive in LA in parts 2&3?

Not at all?

I vote for B.

Hey everybody,

I've missed the discussion the last few weeks and feel like I am really behind. My work blocked out blogger and it took me a minute to figure out a work around. Thank God for RDC to my home computer.

Anyway, tonight starts the last three hours of the season. I am really excited to see tonight's epi, but more excited to discuss it with you all.

TTFN, see you tonight and tomorrow.

Tess315 said...

I vote for A. But it will be right at the end of the show.

Scoutpost said...

Thanks for all the well wishes. At least I'm mostly vertical today :)

I think we'll see them land, but, like sayid's girl said, I think it will be at the very end of the show. I am really curious to see who all those people are who are greeting the plane (like we saw in the preview). And, since it doesn't look like a commercial jet, I'm guessing they won't land at gate 8, 15, 16, 23, or 42- but anybody want to guess if the numbers will figure in somehow? Like maybe the time they leave the island or land or some kind of number on the plane, etc? I bet we'll see the #'s again.

Happy LOST BEGINNING OF FINALE Day!

Hope you get better, Scoutpost! Take fysb's advice about the Dharmaspirin, but don't drink any Dharma orange drink or you'll end up in another time loop!

I'm afraid of going to any LOST sites for fear of spoilers. I did read Doc (skipping the first 1/2 page -- thanks Memphish).

I'm not speculating about anything tonight...my mind's completely open to anything!

bigdog said...

Happy Lost day.

Couldnt agree more amused about the spoilers.

thinking about the O6, i remeember when i used to think the point of the show was to see if they got rescued.

this may seem like a really dumb question, but what would you tell somebody that asked you what LOST was about?

Black Swan said...

hi diggity, glad to see you back!

amused, I vote for B and scoutpost, I like your idea of the numbers showing up again..

I'm going to vote recklessly for A and I raise it to that's the opening sequence.

I'm crazy like that.

Happy Lost finale day Loco's.
Scoutpost.I do hope you'll be feeling 100% soon.
Maybe you need to build yourself a sweatlodge.
Bigdog;
What can you say? We are still trying to figure it out ourselves. It's about a strange, magical Island, and the people who live there. Some of them fell from the sky,and survived a plane crash."Others" were there already.Everyone, including the Island, has an intertwined past;and future.
Of course you would also have to tell them that trying to understand Lost without the help of a Loco, could lead to insanity.

For sure, there will be plenty to talk about as the finale unfolds.

Capcom said...

Bigdog, just say that you could tell them...but then you'd have to kill them. Heheh. Just let them borrow the DVDs.

I vote for "A". How many think that we won't see anyone actually tell them what the lie is tonight, and we won't know who it is that tells them either until Season 5, but they will already know it when we see them in LA in the FF tonight? Me. :-p

memphish said...
