Our favorite show has returned at a new time 10/9 Central! I'm sure there'll be plenty of chatting about the episode and the following controversial website...
Check out mittelosbioscience.org. It's very TLE-ish and is curiously related to the "Not in Portland" episode! In the "Projects" section use "jburke" as a username and "rachel" as a password.
While the Mittelos Bioscience site seems really legit and has several direct ties to the show, the following statement was made on the Fuselage Boards by Gregg Nations: "Mittelos Bioscience...is not an official website. What is it counting down to? The day of a new Lost epsiode? I'm not sure what they plan on doing with it, but it certainly won't have any secrets or inside information."
Sure looks "real"...what do you think?

Yes, I did see Dom on Kimmel last night. I was a bit surprised when Dom said Damon divulged the big secret of the show to a select few losties. I wonder if he was pulling our chains on that one. Also, I can't believe he didn't watch the Super Bowl and that he was making fun of American Football. Also, I read somewhere today that Dom and Lilly will be wedding this summer.

I don't think this is another Lost Experience. But...why wouldn't TPTB throw up another tie-in website? Remember the legit Oceanic Airlines site and the original Hanso site?
I know it has been "de-bunked" but by who? Gregg Nations categorically denied it but that could be b/c we stumbled upon it too early (like the first Rachel video on Monster.com).
The article linked to above doesn't really have credentials. The site is good enough to at least deserve an exploration and consideration...

Well, whoever worked on this site did a really great job! They knew to put in stuff that would really push our buttons. Even naming it Mittelos to tie into Mittelwerk and make us think it has something to do with him. Is this where TWM ended up to continue his agenda? Even the maps of the islands played into many theories out there.
We got some serious vibes that there would be no TLE2. Is this just some individual who is starting their own TLE2. If so, it's going to keep us very busy today! LOL

That video really does get the ARG juices flowing doesn't it? Whoever set it up knew how to get us going. I do have to agree with David though re: being on the lookout for something from TPTB. Like he said, we had all those sister sites like Oceanic.com or whatever it was, for season 1-2, then the ARG last summer, so it would seem that maybe they would have something in the works for us this season. I keep hoping that they'll do the mobisodes this summer if nothing else. Surely they'll give us something to bridge the gap- esp. if the next season indeed doesn't start until Jan. '08. They can't expect me to go that long without something...or else I might snap...and drive half way across the country...wearing a diaper...to track down Damon and Carlton! (j/k I really shouldn't make fun, that woman really needs help).

You're right Lucky, Lost (and this blog) truly is an ageless past-time! Myself, I just turned five-oh..........a couple years ago. :-D The 40s are awesome, but I liked the 30s too. Don't know about the 50s yet, too soon to tell. But as long as I am in control of my own life and bodily functions it can't be all that bad!

Anyway, the Bioscience website is pretty interesting. It's definately not real since it is not regsitered to abc, but cool anyway.
There is a good article on EW today (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20010504,00.html), but does contain some quite minor spoilers. Damon & Carlton go as far as to say what episodes certain things will happen in, and what will happen with Mike & Walt. I recommend checking it out. I didn't think anything in there was terribly revealing.

all the ones from the LOST experiece used to say ABC. Now that it is over the individual site admins own the domains, and the information shows them listed as the owner. Apollocandy, thehansofoundation, hansoexposed, etc.
I guarantee they all used to say ABC. It was the one thing that told us if the sight was real or fake.
completely unrelated but driving me nuts nonetheless. Anyone using IE 7 to access this site? Since the upgrade, everytime I post or access the forum I get some "page contains secure & non secure items" error message. Really annoying and I can't figure out how to stop it. Figured out how to stop it. Follow these instructions to disable. Howeverm, it will effect all sites and is a potential security risk.
1. In your web browser go to Tools.
2. Select Internet Options from the drop down menu.
3. Click on the Security tab.
4. Click on the Web content zone you use to access the Site.
5. Click Custom level.
6. Scroll down to find the heading Miscellaneous.
7. Find the sub-heading Display Mixed Content.
8. Click Enable.
9. Click OK.
10. In response to ‘Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?’ click Yes.
11. Click OK to close the Internet Options box.
MS says it is a site design issue. I will email the admins to see if they are aware and can fix.

IE 7 stands for Internet Explorer 7. Both FireFox and IE are web browsers, juts different flavors by different companies. IE is automatically installed with Windows.
Microsoft just updated it a few months ago from 6 to 7. One of the major new features they stole directly from FireFox. (tabbed browsing of multiple web pages from within on window)That's was MS does best. Steal stuff from the little guy.
I really like it, but the more and more I get around to the sites I like to surf I find little issues like this.

Great to see the fish biscuit. I'm checking in every little bit. I wasn't that bummed about the later start until today. That extra hour may do me in. I grabbed a power nap earlier to prepare.
Ahhhh a nap would be SO nice, but don't think it's in the cards for me today. I have to take my daughter to ballet class soon, so I'm hoping that getting her ready, the class itself, dinnertime and moving right into kids bath and bedtime will make the time pass fast. Man it makes me tired just thinking about all that.

I feel your pain Maven. We still have 3 hours to go here. Don't know if I'll be up afterward or not- depends on how tired I am, of course I have a feeling I won't be able to go right to sleep anyway. YOu know one idea, if possible, would be to set up two chat rooms. One east coast and one west coast. We could chat during the episode without worrying about spoilers, then once the west coast finishes everybody could join together or flip back and forth- whatever. Of course I don't know much about chat rooms or how they're set up, so I can't implement this myself. Just an idea that popped into my head.

Hi, everybody! Although I've been lurking about since the Lost hiatus began (more like SULKING over the 3-mo. long hiatus that we've had to endure), I'm as excited as all you guys about getting to see tonight's show(s).

I took a look at the Mittelos site, and agree with you guys that it's probably not real. It hits the high points of our TLE adventure, but as someone else commented, it doesn't give us anything new. All it did was make my heart ache for the excitement and obsession that we experienced last summer. Waaaaah, can anything ever really top that?
If TPTB do decide to create a TLE2, at least they'll know what they're up against (now that they know how SMART most of you guys are!!!).

It's just under 1:15 until "Not in Portland." I'm going to spend most of it watching Friday Night Lights. For those of you who haven't tried FNL yet, the first episode is free on iTunes right now. I highly recommend it. The characters and drama are great.
Although the consensus on the MB site is that it is fake, I really hope it's real. I'm chomping at the bit for another TLE. A mini-one during the break would have been nice.

Wow, Lost is back in the saddle again!
I hope people are getting lots of screen caps. Things I noticed in The Room! First, it was room 23, that was for the newbies. Second, it was The Room as in Walt we'll put you back in the room. Then there was a mention of Jacob something like God loves you and he loves Jacob. Didn't catch all that. And then there was the shot of Gerald DeGroot that we've seen in the Swan film. And there was of course the stuff about Everything Changes and Think About Your Life. Sawyer was very drawn to it. Interesting.
BTW, this is the Sawyer I love to love in this episode. I am anti-Sawyer and Kate, but Sawyer full of shocking Pickett, pulling Wookie tricks, and handing out Sheena (which he used before for Kate in The Long Con) and better, Underdog for Alex is the stuff I love. And Alex hangs with him. Awesome.

mittelos: based on the timeframe juliet gave for how long she's been on the island, i'd say that's right around the time alvar went missing.
mittelos is (was) a "front" for mittelwerk to recruit for DHARMA (island duty).

Okay, does anybody remember a couple of weeks ago, when Doc Jensen posted an article with some spoilers that we were trying to talk about in code? He said that in the premiere, one of the characters says exactly how long they've been on the island and that it corresponded with a real world event.
I couldn't give my theory then because of the spoiler rule, but I think I was right: Juliet's been on the island for three years, two months and twenty-eight days - putting her arrival right after September 11, 2001.

I thought also that once it aired, there was really no censoring of talking about that ep on TLC.
I think that Mittelos could still be fake (but I hope not). It could have been made by someone who got one of the pre-released copies of the ep, last week, so they knew who the people and names were. Not to burst any TLE-2 bubbles, mind ya.

I think the website is based on the spoilers. The Tailsection had a complete outline of the epi. Despite my attempts to avoid spoilers I knew what killed the ex-Mr. Juliet (though I did not know there was an ex-Mr. Juliet) and looking at that website you could tell it was based on the epi. spoilers.

Yeah melissa_lossa good catch on the Clockwork Orange thing. That just looked like some modern art crap to me. I represented the MOMA in La Jolla once. You still cannot convince me that a garden hose, even in La Jolla is ART.

i had a theory before about the "numbers" for the formula representing things we could prevent. if we can prevent all six, we can save the world. but fail in JUST ONE and we're still doomed. kinda like multiple solutions to ONE FATE.
