There's a sneak peek clip out there (my understanding is that it was aired on US TV anyway, but I missed it). It felt different. The camerawork seemed a little different.

Did anyone else notice this, or is it just a difficulty on my part in getting used to new locales on the island (if Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are in fact still on the island)?

I predict that we don't get told ANYTHING about the Penny/Arctic/anomaly story line until after the break. Not cuz I'm smart or anything, but just because that's one of the things I want to know about the most and we know TPTB like to keep the BIG answers close to the vest for a long time. :-(

Hello everyone!

capcom: I think the Penny storyline will be revisited in the end of the 6th episode, leaving a huge cliffhanger for the break!

Well, I've been having issues getting on TLEC comments section, so I was going to have my TLE final comment on here. Not that it matters to anyone, didn't really contribute that much, but I wanted to say thanks for a great four months and getting me into TLE. Too bad i missed the DJ Dan podcast. I'll hopefully be more active on here, and was wondering if you all are still doing podcasts about each episode?

roomforhuman said...

Only 9 days until the premier. I can't wait. I'm stoked out of my mind. TLE was cool and all that, but it is/was nothing compared to the ever-increasing greatness that is LOST.

Just saying hi, and bring on Season 3!

How about a Poll on which new characters might feature in S3?

Jacks ex, Desmonds ex (same person?) Lockes Dad... just being daft but anyone wanna start?

n.i.k. said...

Diggin' that last promo w/ Fenry narrating. "[W]ho they really are..." is intriguing. I hope that's relevent to what's coming up, and not just some drivel written by the ad monkeys.

But hey! Good to see the lot of you again. I'm doing my best to forget the frustrations of the ARG and get geared up for some great speculation and analysis when season 3 starts off. Given the brilliant theorizing during the game, this is bound to be one hell of a place to exchange ideas.

thinbluemime said...

I anxiously await the start of Lost season 3. But I have a couple nagging questions still about the ARG.

1) How is it that Alvar Hanso, at age 60 (?) has the ability to hear a digital camera running. They say your hearing is the "second" thing to go in reguards to aging. Hanso has the hearing ability of Fake Henry Gale in the Swan Bunker armory.
2) Since Alvar had "funny" blood, as revealed during the ARG, does Rachel, his daughter also have blood that would make an ER doctor say "huh?"
3) Why can't Mittlewerk kill Alvar? Is he "immortal" like John Locke's father?
4) With Mittlewerks goal setting abilities, does anyone really believe he will now throw up his hands and abandon plans to rid the world of 30% of it's humans?

maven said...

I for one am hoping that some of the ARG unanswered questions somehow get connected in the show. Obviously, some more answers about DHARMA and the Others will relate to TLE...who are they and why are they there? I think we'll learn about all the different experiments for the stations...what they were trying to learn and study...which we can relate to what we learned this summer about THF. No matter how many times TPTB tell us the ARG and Lost are separate, I don't buy it for one second. The two are interwoven like a spider's web (Spider Protocol anyone? LOL).

Looking forward to great discussions as S3 progresses, and maybe some answers to what THF/DHARMA were up.

thinbluemime said...

Looks as though my question #4 above has been answered with TLEC Clue #145

Mittlewerk is in the house!!!

I'm just dropping in to say hi.
I can't wait for the new season...and also for this site to become the #1 place for all fans of LOST and TLE.
...looking forward to many great discussions.

TheBookPolice said...

monday lad - Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but all of those characters have already appeared on LOST (although I wouldn't quite refer to Penelope as Desmond's "ex").

I'd love to see more of how Hurley's boss came to be Locke's "boss." I know the producers have addressed it, but I'd like to actually see it.

I'm also hoping for more fuel to feed the Claire/Jack/Chistian fire.

Lastly (well, it's not the last thing I want to see, but I could go on forever), I want to know what the miracle girl in Australia and her "psychic" father have to do with the larger LOST story.

JGZ350 said...

Hello all, I can't wait to see where we pick up with S3. I am new to this blog as I was a big time lurker over at TLEC. Last year, I just hung out at the official boards but often found out I was wasting my time. I am looking for a new board/blog in regards to discussing Lost episodes with fellow Losties that have half a brain and aren't immature teenagers like over at the official web site's boards. From what I read over at TLEC, this is a very cool and tight net community and I look forward to sharing my thoughts, ideas and theories about my favorite and the best show on TV, LOST!

TheBookPolice said...

jgz350 - immature teenagers like over at the official web site's boards

Boy, you ain't kidding.

JGZ350 said...

It would be very nice if Lost would have some tie-ins with TLE, that would be very cool.

I also look forward to the charactor development of Desmond. When he made his first appearance in S2, I really enjoyed his character. I hope they do a good job of developing his character. The same goes for the artist formally known as Henry Gale. He did a fantastic job of acting in S2 and has a very eerie presence about him. I am also interested on how they plan to introduce the new characters and how they affect the current nucleus of LOST.

Of course, what is the fate of the big three, Kate, Jack and Sawyer? I hope they address that issue in the first episode of S3, 'A Tale of Two Cities'.

DeDJeZTeR said...

My guess is that A tale of two cities is going to deal with the big three in the others world as well as the old lostaway camp as Hurley is on his way back to give them the scoop. I really want to know who Carl/Kyle is and why is he in the cage next to Sawyer. What on earth is the deal with the big four toed foot, and of course my number one question. Why does that overgrown parrot know Hurley's name.

DeDJeZTeR said...

Sorry to double post, but just after typing that in I saw a promo photo for season 3 and it has a bunch of the cast and desmond and Fenry are included. What bothers me though is the fact that no one in the picture is wearing shoes... except for Fenry. Does this mean that the new season has set the mood of the Lostaways being the others and the others being the main story arc. Like we have been here all along so this makes all of you the others here.

Hmmmmm?
Just thinking out loud.... again

nycsky said...

ok..i need some help if you guys dont mind...here is the deal.... im an avid reader of TLE board so much that i have it set on my google homepage...problem is i have no idea how i did that and i would like to do the same for this board. anyone how to do this??? thanks in advance

JGZ350 said...

Good morning all-

Hi cattygirl-
no I haven't received it yet. Hopefully today.

I am looking forward to the recap show tonite. Heck, Lost hasn't been on ABC for quite some time now. I will take anything Lost right about now.

CattyGirl said...

I'm with you... I'm going to watch the recap too. I heard it is supposed to be illuminating.

I was thinking about Kelvin today. Are we sure he is dead? I can't remember if there is anymore proof then the scene where Desmond bashed his head into the rock. Did we ever see the body again or did Desmond speak of a grave?

engineer27 said...

cat: I've had a feeling since I first saw that ep. that Kelvin wasn't dead.

In fact, I suspected that the whole scene was orchestrated with the intent of keeping Des away from the hatch long enough for a system failure to occur, thus resulting in the crash of Oceanic815.

Bizarre string of coincidences, or all according to plan? You be the judge.

Of course if it is a plan, what is the goal? And whose plan is it?

JGZ350 said...

That's a good question cattygirl. If my memory serves me right, when he gave Jack his quick recap when he was trying to fix the hatch computer, I thought he said Kelvin got sick and died. Does that ring a bell??? I do not recall Desmond mentioning anything about a grave. Last we saw of Kelvin was him taking a nap on the rocks after Desmond knocked him to the ground. That scene is still a bit unbelievable, I just can't see Desmond knocking down Kelvin who has military training and obviously stronger than Desmond.

Anyone excited to watch the re-cap show tonight? My fiance' and I have been trying to watch season one, but this should be a good refresher for me and a good start for her. I am so looking forward to season 3 now that I have a new HDTV!!!

ular98 said...

I am going to watch the recap. I am sure we Granny's can refresh our memories not to mention see things we didn't catch the first time around. lol

JGZ350 said...

Yes, I am looking forward to the recap, it will be good to review and, according to what I have read on the net, be enlighening. Apparently the show is for the new, the unfamiliar and the Lost fan that has watched the show since day 1. Hopefully it will be good and leave us ready for S3 to start. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a hanso foundation commercial tonight???

Thrasher76 said...

That would be awesome!

Mr. Beardy: As you have been already told you are bound by your honor and commitment. These words could not ring more true today. The new Hanso Foundation is commited to being all that it had set out to be. With the help of our faithful followers on TLEC and Rachel Blake we can venture forward to a better tomorrow. Thank You and Namaste!

(Fade Out---fuzzy picture---) Thomas Werner Mittlewerk in a dark room...

The recap episodes are great. You sometimes forget stuff way back in S1. It also puts you back in our Lost mood we've been missing all summer, well TLE did an alright job in doing that...But I want Desmond, Jack, Swayer, and the rest.

Maven, TLE will be tied in the show for sure...Remember the article Tapdawg showed us saying it would? I really think that Alvar is going to be part of the show Lost somehow...

CattyGirl said...

I was excited to see my Entertainment weekly has a little pull-out booklet dedicated to Lost with Stephen King at the end asking some questions.

Melissa_Lossa said...

cattygirl - who's on the cover of that EW? I want to try to grab one at the store, if they're still out.

I generally find the recaps kind of lame, but that's because the last couple have been recapping things that just happened. This is the first time I've gone a whole summer without Lost (I watched season 1 on DVD), so it will be nice to catch up. I think I'll also watch the finale again before the premiere.

JGZ350 said...

Thrasher - that would be an excellent way to end TLE with a commercial from the Hanso Foundation, just as you described and leaving the door wide open for TLE 2! BTW, what a vivid discription of the hanso commecial, great job!

maven said...

Yeah, recap tonite! Even though I rewatched S1 and S2 this summer...looking forward to a refresher refresher!

Ryan: I'm pretty sure the 1975 Orientation part of the Sri Lanka video will show up somehow in S3...that's how Alvar and the ARG will be integrated into the show.

Also looking forward to the Finale Podcast on Thursday!

maven said...

Thrasher: That would be an awesome way to official "end" this! It sure will make a lot more people interested in what the heck is going on and, hopefully, keep this ARG going in the future.

Also, in case you didn't see my comment re your DJ Lena script! Loved it, very funny. Not even upset that MAVEN was used...at least your kitty is named after me!

Anyone else have blogger probs?

CattyGirl said...

Melissa - it is a Battlestar Galactica cover.

Nice! Thanks, catygirl. :)

And as a bonus - I love Battlestar Galactica!

Just throwing out some ideas...

Do we have a consensus yet on how we are pronouncing TLC?

Right now I'm still saying T.L.C. like T.L.E.C., but I kinda leaning toward something more pronounceable.

If we shorten "The Lost Community", it would be LoCo or The Loco. That might be fun in a Hurly/Libby sort of way..

maven said...

Well...T.L.C. sort of sounds like the saying "Tender, Loving Care" or the cable channel "The Learning Channel". Guess I'm sticking with T.L.C....we do treat LOST with tender, loving care! LOL

I was happy to hear Henry Gale again. "Who are the good guys?"

JGZ350 said...

I enjoyed the recap episode and thought they did a good job on it. The artist formerly known as Henry Gale did a great job of narrating it. It refreshed the memory on somethings I had forgotten about.

Cattygirl, I thought about you last night when I watch the recap. Remember you had Kelvin on the mind yesterday? Well wouldn't you know, the first part of the recap was about Desmond and Kelvin. I thought that was pretty cool. Do you know something we don't???

RyaNDrumZ said...

You'd think they would talk about Desmond a litlle more with the whole Penny situation and all...

Also, notice how they only mentioned Ana Lucia dying...This is just showing how Libby will be a big part in S3..In flashbacks I mean.

I like how they also showed the Scene where Hurley said, "or maybe another time" or something like that. That's because of what they said at ComiCon...Obviously they put it in the re-cap episode for some special reason. I think we might see that come into play...

maven said...

I thought the recap show was pretty good. Having Fenry narrate was kinda creepy, but was a good choice since he obviously will be figuring pretty hugely in S3.

I still think the voice on the loudspeaker was Ms. Hanso! I'd like to think it's a "tip 'o the hat" to TLE!

CattyGirl said...

JGZ350 - believe me, I wish I did know something more.

Maven - that would be great if it was Rachel. I wonder if we will see a face behind that voice anytime soon. My first thought was B. Klugh, but I'd rather if she was Rachel obviously. ;)

Last night's ep was pretty good, Melissa has not seen the middle parts of season one and the start of season two, so it was a good recap for her...I hope the rumors of an ARG in the 2 month hiatus are true....

Step 1: Hi, my name is Chad and I am TLEC addict.

JGZ350 said...

Nice observation ryandrumz, I too think that scene is important. When I first saw that scene, I put an asterisk by in my memory as I thought that was an interesting thing for Hugo to say. I think it's definitely a clue and will come into play in S3. Then again, it could have been the writers throwing the hard-core losties a bone, because I have read in someones theory about lost taking place in a different time and dimension. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
I think a majority of what was shown in the recap show is important and should be noted.

Melissa_Lossa said...

I always like how Hurley can be counted on to say exactly what the viewers are thinking. I mean, when that music started playing, who DIDN'T think, "maybe they're picking up a broadcast from the past"?

Dennis said...

RyaNDrumZ said... Also, notice how they only mentioned Ana Lucia dying...This is just showing how Libby will be a big part in S3..In flashbacks I mean.

I noticed they made a determined effort to cut out everyone who was already dead in the show - Libby, Boone, Shannon. I guess they didn't want to overload new viewers.

BTW, I think any "preview" commercials or "on the next episode" clips should be considered *** spoiler *** material....

*********** SPOILER *************

I posted some of this at TLEC, but I'll repost it here:

I definitly think the voice on the loudspeaker sounds like Rachel Blake, but I don't think she could be "Rachel Blake" on the show. We may never see her on the show, but it's cool that they would use her voice. I don't think that is Ms. Klugh's voice. IMHO, her voice seems deeper and more "breathy".

I also thought the very last scene of jack opening the door was interesting. Underwater hatch anyone? Or maybe he is on the Helgus?

*********** SPOILER *************

maven said...

I think the recap show really stressed The Others, which we know is where the show is heading. Having Fenry narrate foreshadows that, too.

Dennis said...

Maven, I agree.

They were very clever to add the clip between Jin and Sun where Jin says:

"Don't worry about the others. We need to stay together."

TheBookPolice said...

My favorite facet of the recap show was that Fenry did it in-character. That's a key point that would be easy to miss. It wasn't just Michael Emerson doing it. It was Fenry doing it. He never said anything bad about the Others, and stressed that the Losties broke the "line in the sand" pact first.

tlcm said...

I thought I get my first post up here at TLC.......

hey guys...........

RyaNDrumZ said...

Well, when Michael Emerson was narrating the part about Fenry being captured, he did not speak in first person..."They caught an other...A guy claiming to be Henry Gale"

Also, speculation on Kelvin being dead or not...When I saw that part, it sounded like he broke his neck. I don't think he survived.

RyaNDrumZ said...

Muppets rule...Screw Sesame Street!!! LOL TLCM

JGZ350 said...

Great observation TBP and ryandrumz. So was he in character or not or only part of the time or none of the time? I say he was in character only part of the time because when he spoke of Fenry he did not speak in first person.

TheBookPolice said...

ryandrumz, jgz350 - IMO, it's self-referential third person. LOST couldn't have him refer to himself in first person, because then they'd either have to show him speaking at the end (and thus explain how he knew all of this) to not confuse the new viewers, or give up the conceit that this is "just a recap" for the new viewers.

It's a tip of the hat to the longtime viewers that the Others have access to essentially the same amount of info that the Viewers have.

Ryandrumz...I thought that they very purposefully cut Libby out of every scene she was originially in...for what reason, I am still pondering. If you'll notice, during "Tale of Survival" even in the intro to the tailies, the trek through the jungle, etc., etc., not even a glimpse of Libby. I think it's a bigger deal than we think. Either that, or they just wanted to get us all stirred up.

Thraser76 --- "Hi Chad".

DeDJeZTeR said...

I still do not think that the voice is Rachel, not even a bit. There is an entirely different inflection to her voice than the voice that says the bit about jack. I also do not think that it is an underwater hatch. It would be cool if it were, but it is not. My best guess is that it is just a test/puzzle type thing, like sawyer in the cage. How do they get out is the question to ask ourselves. They did tests on Walt (yes we are going to talk about that... lol) and he spoke of being in the room which they didn't get into either. Maybe the room he is speaking of is the same room that they have jack in. One in which you need to use all your powers of deduction in order to get out of it. It is a little it of a stretch to think that he is in an underwater hatch, because there has never been any proof of an underwater hatch. Even if you put the overlay of the blast door over the map of the island there is no place for any of those hatches on the blast door to be out off the island.

This is all speculation on my part though so, you know what they say...

Talk amongst yourselves... lol

Dedjezter,

I like your thoughts and I like the idea of Jack stuck like a rat in a maze. My experience is that these trailers are usually intentionally very misleading.

I can't comment on the Rachel/no-Rachel voice over as I have not heard it, however my understanding is that Jamie was hired as part of TLE only and that neither Jamie or Rachel are likely to ever make and appearance in Lost proper.

BTW Dedjezter, I only twigged that your name was pronounced 'Dead Jester' when you explained it's origin - man I'm slow sometimes.

Hello all. I'm with Dark Angel that Jamie was hired for TLE and not the show, but I guess we will see in the long run.

Wish we had viewing parties here (northeastern PA), but it is hard enough to find another Lost geek let alone a party full.

Dark Angel said...

Hi Cattygirl,

I know what you mean, the Season Finale has just aired in the UK and people are saying 'hey did you see the Season Finale' and I'm there, well yes back in May, but I'm really focused on Season 3. I'll probably see the season premier on the Thursday or Friday after it airs in the states but most people here in the UK won't see it until some time next year!

FYSB said...

Hey UK!

My 2 cents/pence is that the voice was Jamie's, but she's not going to be on the show. The way she says Jack Shepherd sounds soooo much like her. But just because she's making an announcement over a loudspeaker doesn't mean she'll be a character.

Also, I got my hair cut last night and my hair lady was all excited because she had just rented and watched Season ONE.

JGZ350 said...

Good Morning all-

Cattygirl - Hi there, how are things? Guess what came in the mail today! Yes your package! I got it! How cool is that? Thank you so very much.

FYSB - Hi, how's the new do look like? That is so cool you got your hair lady hooked on Lost. I have gotten two ladies here at worked hooked on Lost and hopefully I can convert some more.

Dark Angel - How was the pint at lunch? That sounds like a good idea. I think I will have mexican food for lunch and two ice cold corona lights!

I want to listen to the mystery voice that calls Jack out on the loud speaker again. I have heard it a couple of times and feel that it's dee aka ms. clough.

Four days and change still S3 and I can't wait!

Dark Angel said...

Hi FYSB,

great hearing you on the podcast. I agree that Jamie could have been a voice only cameo, that would have been easy to record and a nice little thankyou.

Now Season 1 - I remember that....

Funny to think there used to be a life before Lost!

Dark Angel said...

Hi JGZ350,

My lunchtime pint was very nice thanks, a pint of Guiness which is something I don't really drink anymore.

Now Mexican and a couple of Coronas that sounds good. The Mexican food was one of the highlight's of my trip to Texas a few years ago. We had just flown into Huston via Paris (after being bumped of our flight, lost luggage etc) and we found this cheap little Mexican dinner in Huston. It was brilliant - proper Mexican food, I felt I was in the 'real America'. Sounds silly but that was one of my favorite memories of Texas, much more than the touristy stuff like The Alamo or the Space Centre.

Wow guys! It's fun to see all the "wrap up" convos going on lately over on TLEC. Just so you know, the plan is to leave BOTH this thread and the latest thread on TLEC up UNTIL WEDNESDAY and then we'll do one more post at TLEC directing people HERE and to STORIESOFTHELOST.COM.

I just wanted to add that I am so grateful and touched by all the support that has been poured out towards myself and the other administrators of this blog over the last few days. The community that has developed here has literally been a dream come true. You guys have thanked me a lot lately but truly, all of the credit goes to you...it is easy to do the facilitating when there is such a brilliant, diverse, and beautiful group of people doing all the participating. It was a blessing to participate with you all this summer.

Finally, I wanted to let everyone know that I'll be around off and on today and then tomorrow I am leaving to go out of town on a short vacation to celebrate my ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY (Ryan, thank you very much for sharing that video with everyone). Immediately after that, I will be traveling to a work-related conference in Atlanta (Much like the one Jim, Michael, and Dwight attended on last night's episode of the Office). I will not have access to a computer until Tuesday evening and then will have limited access until next Friday. Don't worry, I'll be sure to get a post up next Wednesday on TLC and I already have plans to watch the Season premiere and blog out of my hotel room! If you don't see me for a few days, know that I'm not disappearing...I very much look forward to engaging with this community on a regular basis as Season 3 develops.

Okay...***end of Sappiness/Announcement***

Hey David

Congratulations on your first Wedding Anniversary and have fun celebrating - some things are even more important than Lost (wow- did I really just say that!)

InEnglandAndLost said...

Congrats David!

CattyGirl said...

Hmmm.. That reminds me. My wedding anniversary falls on a Wednesday... uh-oh.

jgz350 - Glad it finally arrived. I was starting to lose hope.

InEnglandAndLost said...

I need to get married first to have an anniversary.

Doubt that'll ever happen since my G/F has been married in the past!

Dark Angel said...

Hey Congrats to you too Cattygirl, our wedding aniversary is in August but next Friday it will be exactly 11 years since I first met my wife (who says men don't remeber dates!)

JGZ350 said...

Congrats David, you made it! The first year of marriage is the toughest, at least that's what I have heard. Enjoy your little get away.

I hope you have a decent TV in your hotel room to watch the premiere. Depending on the hotel you are staying at, the TV's are pretty much hit or miss. Good luck.

JGZ350 said...

Cattygirl - I was starting to have doubts, but didn't lose hope. I just had this feeling that it would arrive. Thanks again.

Well you never know, women get all sorts of funny ideas as they get older!

InEnglandAndLost said...

I can see why you don't want your wife looking on here, especially with comments like that!!!

ha ha ha

JGZ350 said...

Yes congrats to you too Cattygirl and hope your husband remembers as well! I know if I forget my anniversary, there would be heck to pay. How many years of blissful marriage for you?

Dark Angel - I agree with you, that is defintely a true statement.

Dark Angel said...

Nowadays I just get that "your talking about Lost again" look!

maven said...

Still think that the loudspeaker voice is Jaime. I don't think she'll be on Lost, but her voice could! I like to think it's a "wink" to us TLE fans!

P.S.: I wished David Happy Anniversary over at TLEC! We just celebrated our 34th!

Dark Angel said...

Wow Congrats Maven

InEnglandAndLost said...

wow - I feel young!!!

Well- it depends on what kind of boyfriend you're looking for! hehe
I'm guessing not the kind who would find your avatar attractive?!

maven said...

Yes, fysb! I was a child bride! LOL

Seriously, since I'm one of the "older" ones around here (and a lot of you already know that)...I feel that age doesn't really matter here (except in chat when you guys talk about music I have know idea about!). Even after I "outed" myself, I was just considered one of the gang, and I was surprised how many of us "more mature" players came out of the woodwork, too! Even LOST has some older characters!

JGZ350 said...

FYSB, I will have to admit that is a very unusual avatar that you have. I don't think it's going to work on match.com. Maybe you should post a pic with your new do!

FYSB said...

Perhaps you're right jgz350. The new do is FAB. Or we could start a TLC dating service.

I guess I'll have to come up with a new avatar anyway since folks coming in to TLC may not realize who TWM is. I could scare them away.

InEnglandAndLost said...

Right, Have a lovely weekend all - home time for me!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

Don't forget to check out my vid if you haven't already seen it!!!

JGZ350 said...

FYSB, do you have a viewing party setup for the premiere of S3?

Show us your new do!

maven said...

FYSB: I don't even know what your old do looked like! I'm sure your new one is great!

Yes, a lot of the TLEC avatars might be a little confusing to any new TLC people! Some people might be confused. On the other hand, they might be conversation starters!

CattyGirl said...

Congrats Maven! 34?! Wow - that is impressive.

3 weeks until my 7th.

JGZ350 said...

cattygirl, you know what they say about the 7th one right? becareful when you scratch that 'itch', lol.

This past July was my 18th.

And yes, congrats Maven, tell us how you do it??? 34 years is incredible and a long time!

CattyGirl said...

Quote from Dark Angel 'Nowadays I just get that "your talking about Lost again" look!'

I get the look from my husband. ;) He watches it with me when the new episodes are on, but he didn't follow TLE and he doesn't watch the DVD sets like I have.

CattyGirl said...

jgz350 - haha - I remind him that we have been together for 10 years. ;)

JGZ350 said...

Cattygirl, I know how you feel. I get that look too. Last night, I was looking at the 2006 Lost yearbook, which btw, is very good reading and my wife is like, "You and your LOST". Yes, that's right, me and my LOST! I can admit it, I'm addicted and I got it really bad.

JGZ350 said...

Cattygirl, that's a good one and too funnie! Just keep telling him that.

maven said...

Re: Long marriages: I don't have a simple answer, guys! I guess just respect each other! Hubby and I don't share all the same interests (he loves opera and baseball...I don't!) He doesn't watch LOST and was amazed how involved I got in TLE this summer, but he enjoyed the fun I had even though he couldn't understand my obsession. Letting each other have space, but also coming together for the important things in life is a key ingredient in a long and happy marriage.

(Can't believe we've turned into a Dr. Phil blog!)

scoutpost said...

Add me to the "Spouse rolls his eyes when I talk about LOST" club. He watches LOST, but it ends there.

BTW- just went and bought the EW with the LOST season 3 survival guide. Some interesting predictions they make about Season 3.

JGZ350 said...

Yes you are right Maven, enough about Dr. Phil stuff, let's talk Lost S3.

Okay, I read this on Watch With Kristin page from E online. Take it with a grain of salt, but she claims to be in the know and well connected.

*****SPOILER*****

Now, here are the Lost teases I can share:

1. Two people close to Sun die (note: they are "close" to her in very different ways).
2. That kiss you've seen in the promos isn't exactly what it seems.
3. There is going to be another kiss.
4. Two Losties have sex in Jack's bed.
5. We see Sawyer as a bona fide wuss (for good reason)--and learn a secret that reveals he has an entirely different role in life than we (or he) ever knew.

*****END SPOILER*****

The things that make you go hmmmm.
So what do you all think? If three out of five are right, wouldn't that be something?

CattyGirl said...

The kiss in the promos... Is that Kate and Sawyer kissing?

scoutpost said...

Dang! The suspense is killing me!

*****SPOILER*****

Ok- I hope Jin doesn't die, I know a lot of people don't like him, but I really do. He's come a long way- oh well, that probably means he will die.
One of the Losties that have sex in Jack's bed could be Jack himself, so who would be the other one? hmmmmm
In the promos Sawyer is in a cage and Jack is in chains somewhere, and they show Kate being led around. I think they are going to make Kate do something she doesn't want to and make her choose between freeing Jack or Sawyer. (Does that make sense?)
But, what role could Sawyer have in life that we don't know about? Double hmmmmm.

*****END SPOILER*****

scoutpost said...

Oh BTW jgz350- you mentioned once that you lived in NW Houston- I used to live in Copperfield. Do you live north or west of there?

JGZ350 said...

Yes I believe that is the Kiss she is refering to cattygirl.

JGZ350 said...

scoutpost,
I still live in Houston. I am a native Houstonian. I live in NW Houston, the 290 and hollister area. So, it would be a little south of Copperfield.

scoutpost said...

Yes- I remember that area well. I really liked that NW part of town. I really miss it there- Houstonians are very friendly.

JGZ350 said...

Why thank you scoutpost, we are friendly. Only the thing is, I just don't know too many local losties though. That's why I'm glad I found this blog.

capcom said...

Hi All. I'm on the side of those who think that the speaker-voice sounds like Rachel/Jamie. Albeit she is sounding more sophisticated or older than usual, but I'd cringe at -- I mean recognize -- that Valley Girl inflection anywhere. It's in the "arrrre". I don't think that she'll be in the show, but TPTB may still employ her in faceless background/behind-the-scenes material perhaps, like this.

But...if I'm wrong, I concede. :-)

capcom said...

Too funny FSBY! But hey, did Libby and Hurley ever........? Thanks to Michael, I didn't think that they ever got to do anything but smooch.

FYSB said...

Hey there capcom...

Libby and Hurley never, no, but the island knew they wanted to so it had her whacked.

The island is a jealous, jealous mistress.

(and it was the little lisp on shepherd that convinced me it was jamie)

scoutpost said...

Attention all you LOST fans! I am going to a season 3 premiere party that a friend is hosting, and I am trying to come up with a basic LOST trivia quiz for fun. So if you guys can think of any fun trivia questions about season 1 & 2 and would like to help me out- you can email them to me at masage at netzero dot net or post them here (?) - don't want to take over the comments with my personal project. Just keep in mind that my friends are Jim and Pams- they watch the show, but don't buy the DVD's or visit message boards or play TLE, etc. So don't make the questions too hard. I know I can come up with plenty on my own if I have to, but it would be great to have more input from LOSTaholics like me. Thanks!

JGZ350 said...

hey fysb,
Looks like I haven't missed much. Too funnie on the island being jealous, but you might be right.

Yeah, I wonder who the two losties are that do the horizontal mombo. Whoever they are, they are going to get wacked by the jealous island.

I tell you what, that's one touch island to be stranded on, lol.

I mean tough island to be stranded on. Sorry about that, it's been a long week and it's definitely time to pull the plug.

Howdy,

I lurked at TLEC all summer. I think not knowing html is one of the reasons us lurkers keep lurking. So, thanks to admin for the lesson.

In the past week, I have been reading random pages on Lostpedia to remind me of all the little details and theories I forgot while I was wrapped up in the Experience.

BTW my husband faithfully watches the show, but wants nothing to do with any theories or the Experience. I think I drove him crazy all summer, and I'll keep doing it for the next 6 episodes too.

Well, that's enough of an intro for a Friday afternoon. Almost time to leave work. Have a good weekend.

Midnightstrider said...

Hey everyone,

I have also been a bit of a lurker during the experience (I was a bit intimidated by all the uber smart people who got the clues and gave them to us "Micheals" *blushes*)but I'll be much more active during the show.

I'm SO excited about season 3 (5 days!!) The experience gave me a distraction from the Lost withdrawl, but now the experience is over, so all I can do is count down until the show, lol. Come on guys, I know I'm not the only one ;)

maven said...

Hey, midnightstrider: Congrats on de-lurking! I for one keep looking at my watch!

JGZ350 said...

Hi maven, four days and change til the premiere of S3 and I can't wait.

As for me, I lurked and commented a little bit over at TLEC, but I mostly lurked and towards the end, I started to post comments. Don't be agraid lurkers, come into the light and enjoy TLC experience! I can't wait to share my thoughts, theories and such here. S3 is going to be one fun ride.

capcom said...

Scoutpost, it might be easier to make up one of those TV drinking games. :-) Now I'm not condoning that. I'm too old for them anymore.

I bet that you could get lots of ideas for Qs on the Lostpedia sight, from just looking at a number of the Lost themes and subjects profusely listed there.

Where in N.E. - P.A. are you. I live in New York but my family has a place just out side Milford, P.A. Around the Port Jervis area. Some friends and I were thinking of heading up there to have a viewing party of the Ep. 6 cliffhanger. Maybe there is a way we could get a viewing party arranged by then.

Maven,
When the game first started I was one of the oldest people playing or at least commenting as it were. And don't take this the wrong way, but thanks for making me feel young again. 34 years huh? You have been married 1 year longer than I have existed.

David,
Congrats man, the 1 year anniversary is a grand event in one's life. It must feel like you played the lottery, but knew the NUMBERS before hand... as well as the prize...lol
I guess this means we all owe you something made of paper , as that is the traditional 1 year anniversary gift... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I guess you could print ou this list of comments/congrats and that could do, but that seems most lame.... lol

capcom said...

I have a TLE question, but I'd rather ask it here than on our almost retired TLEC blog.

Q- What do we know about Rachel's last name being Blake? I was wondering, is it her mother's last name? (if so, then so much for the Liddy Wales, et.al., theory) Is it a name that her mother made up to be RB's imaginary father's name? (then mom could still be Wales, etc.) Is it a name that RB made up?

Just wondering if we knew any of that. THX.

capcom said...

P.S. And are we now supposed to call her Rachel Hanso?

BTW, If anyone needs a language lesson, here is a Russian Lost commercial, with Hurley, Jack and Kate actually speaking Russian! It's very interesting. (From the LostLinks website)

FYSB said...

Funny FYSB, yes, now that RB-H is a poor little rich girl, she is definitely Mizzzz. :-)

But I still wonder *where* she got the Blake from. Mom's side? Fake dad's side? Maybe I should just let TLE go now, and concentrate on the show. I have to keep telling myself that TLE is over.....it's over.....it's over.....

BTW, I agree with you (FYSB) that it does also sounds like Ms. H. over the speaker when she says Shephard.....it's got that slightest little valley girl growl or purr at the end of the name. Ah well, nighty-night all!

JGZ350 said...

Maven,
It looks like 'game over' for the TLE, I know it's hard to believe, but it's time to start thinking LOST S3 and for our minds to be blown. I know S3 is going to put LOST back upfront and will be nominated for some emmys next year. I am still hating it that LOST didn't get nominated for best drama last year. I think with the new format of the LOST, 6 eps, winter break, then finish up strong with 17 continuous eps is going to put LOST back on top. I will go ahead and make my prediction that LOST will be nominated for best drama next year and WIN that emmy!

sean said...

lets hope it at least gets nominated. those emmy idiots completely forgot lost this year.
but i will admit, heroes does provide pretty ample competiton.

JGZ350 said...

sean,
I know 'heroes' is suppose to be NBC's LOST, but come on now. How can you even put a rookie show in the same league as LOST? I saw a few scense from it while I was working out at the gym, no audio, just video and it looked interesting. I won't go out of my way to watch it, but if I'm around and it's on, I will give it a view. Give LOST ample competition is making a strong statement there brother.

Sayid'sgirl said...

Yesterday dedjezter posted (in part), that maybe they had Jack in the same room that Walt was in and maybe not in an underwater hatch.

I can go along with that idea, because everytime Shannon saw Walt in the jungle he was soaking wet.

sean said...

im not saying i like heroes more than lost. i dont think heroes is as good as lost. im just saying the critics are loving it, and its a big hit. those are all the factors that got lost the emmy for season 1. i still think lost deserves it more. (then again, ive only seen one episode of heroes, so i cant really make that judgement) but lost will always be supreme to anything.

Midnightstrider said...

Sean,

Personally, I think the Emmys are rigged. Not the year when Lost won, just this year :P. Lost to good for the Emmys, it's just a common fact ;).

maven said...

Well, I saw Heroes and I think it has a lot of potential. It seems to have a very mysterious back story as to why these particular people are getting certain powers...has to do with genetic research and a Patient Zero. This will never replace Lost in my book, but it seem interesting.

Sayid'sgirl: I have a feeling the place Jack is in could be an underwater hatch. Cuse and Lindehof alluded to what the true meaning of the heiroglyphics were on the Countdown clock as being "Underworld". Now that could relate to Hell or Hades, but also to a world under the sea.

It always hurts when something you love so much doesn't get recognized by the Emmys. In the eyes of the Emmy voters there's a lot of stiff competition out there. I don't know about it being rigged, but I'm hoping this upcoming S3 will really blow away everyone and Lost will get the tributes it deserves.

sean said...

the emmys this year were terrible. they didnt even honor stephen colbert. they gave his emmy to barry manilow.

do the voters even watch tv?

maven said...

Sean: I don't even know how Manilow can be in the same category at Stephen Colbert!

JGZ350 said...

*****SPOILER*****

Maven,
As for me, I don't think Jack is in an underground hatch. TPTB want us to think that, just like they want us to think Kate chose Sawyer with that kiss in one of the promos for S3. It's all a tease.

As you know, the promo's and sneak previews have been misleading in the past.

*****END SPOILER*****

KdM said...

This is from TV guide(ignore if this has been brought up):

In the third-season opener, Jack, Kate and Sawyer begin to discover what they are up against as prisoners of the Others. Christian Shephard: John Terry. Sarah: Julie Bowen. Mr. Friendly: M.C. Gainey. Ethan: William Mapother. Goodwin: Brett Cullen. Karl: Blake Bashoff. Amelia: Julie Adams. Adam: Stephen Semel.

So, does this allude to the fact that Jack's dad is apart of the others??? Because the cast of characters seems to be only others. Any thoughts??
