I never was very good at listening to a pod cast since I make it about half way through them and loose interest. lol I'll give this one a try though just to see if I have changed any lol

I have a new theory -- Juliet is jumping through time because of her MARK! Whatever it is about the Others that is keeping them from jumping through time is undone by the mark on Juliet's back.

The problem I have with Jones being Widmore or being hired by Widmore is I can't see Widmore shairng ownership of the island. If Jones is Widmore he would have said my island not our island. If he's not Widmore he would have said Mr. Widmore's island.

Tess315 said...

I just seen taller ghost Walt in a Tyson anytizer commercial.

Just saw on dark UFO that ABC will be re-airing "The Lie" at 8 on Wednesday as an "enhanced" version.

Capcom said...

Oh sure, they don't want to enhance the first ep for us! Too much to give away there. :o)

I know, I was bummed, too!

TV Guide has a new online video series called "Getting Lost" in which they will discuss the burning questions from each week's episode. Here's the first one, if you're interested: Getting Lost

Not really any spoilers - just some clarifications from Team Darlton.

maven said...

I'm beginning to think that the Jones' crew is from the future...when Widmore has control of THEIR island. Widmore said the island was his to Ben, Jones said it to Sawyer and Juliet. Their uniforms had no logos on them, only names.

Memphish: Good idea about the brand on Juliet! Maybe that mark is a punishment and you can't stay grounded when the time skips happen?

perhaps charlotte is getting nose bleeds and not passing out because she is special, but hasn't found her constant yet, desmond was getting nosebleeds before he reconnected with penny on the freighter...did any of you see the thing on dark ufo about in season one white rabbit, when kate tackles sawyer he says something like "i wished for this four years ago", maybe simular to dan sobbing over the crash of flight 815 without knowing why...

Thanks for that link, ML. They are always so delightful to watch, aren't they? And very carefully with what words they choose to use!

Week one of LFL is up at Dark's. TLC's #1 seems to be Dedjetzer. I'm in the middle of the pack.

memphish said...

Congrats Ded and Melissa_Lossa for representing TLC.

memphish said...

Thanks for that TV Guide link! It was really helpful.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Wow - after my dismal performance last year, I'm so proud of this week's fantasy league score!

Ded - high five!! :)

Yeah, that TV Guide interview did kind of clear things up a little. I highly recommend it.

Tess315 said...

Why do they keep "changing the rules". :)
I try to figure out how to make time travel work without paradoxes, then they say oh they might encounter other iterations of themselves. First it was the show is based in science then it's based in pseudo science. The TPTB are starting to annoy me. But the show isn't.

Something interesting - I was just watching the special features on the season 4 DVDs, and noticed something on Daniel's blackboard in a clip from The Constant. It says, "Kerr might work!! Can it evade Hawking's chronology protection conjecture?"

Does anyone know whether this is a reference to Stephen Hawking? Or is it Ms. Hawking?

Also, in one of the cut scenes, Miles mentions that Dan's journal contains research on the Dharma Initiative, which we just heard about in the premiere.

Tess315 said...

Mine is blue too. Thought it was just my crazy computer.
Melissa
I remember that from the DVD.
That's a good question on whether they are talking about Stephen Hawking or Ms. Hawkings. At the time I assumed Mr. Hawkings. But now I'm not so sure.
I wonder who will win the time war? Hawking or Faraday?

I forgot to say that there was some great dead body acting from Naveen in the second episode :-)

It must have been a great day at work, turn up, lie down, go to sleep, get passed from person to sofa to person !

lost2010 said...

I'm hoping Kate and Penny will neutralize all the damage Locke keeps doing to my LFL team. I forgot how violent he is when I picked him.

I keep thinking that 'birthday wish 4 years ago' thing is going to tie back in too. I even thought of going back to check out the wardrobe and see if Sawyer was wearing the same shirt in that scene that he is in the scene before and after to see if it's September Sawyer or January Sawyer. But I figured someone else would have mentioned the continuity error if that was the case.

Tess315 said...

I don't know how easy it was. Jorge seemed drop him pretty good on that sofa. :)
Speaking on continuity errors. Did anyone else notice that when Ben was lighting the candles he blew the match out. Then when he turned towards Ms. Hawkings he blew it out again?

Tess315 said...

At DarkUFO's in the site updates they have. New Mystery why was Juliet caught in the time jump?
I haven't read it yet and memphish touched on it yesterday.
My thought is that it's because she never committed to the island.
Cindy accepted it and committed to it is why she jumped. Juliet never did. All she ever wanted to do was get off the island and go home.

Tess315 said...

That should be Cindy didn't jump not did.

Hi there! It took me forever to feel caught up (being out of commission for a few days with some kind of bug)! I enjoyed reading everyone's comments on the last thread, all five hundred-something of them... lol!

Sayid'sgirl... boy, you seem to have a grasp on the time-flashing thing! I didn't notice Ben blowing out the match twice.

Congrats, Mel & Ded on the league standings! I'm doing LOUSY with the LFL (codysmom)- 3465! LOL! I was looking through all TLC'ers names and can't figure them all out... Dennis, you must be Goatzilla!

lost2010, as far as the Sawyer/Kate 'birthday wish 4 years ago' thing, he's wearing a dark blue shirt (or maybe it's black?) in that whole episode (White Rabbit S1E5), but so far this season he's only had a brown shirt, so....

Zort70 said...

My LFL team name is quite easy to work out !

Black Swan said...

Yeah, I've got you figured out, zort! You're not doing great, but better than me... lol!

Who's the Detroit Blue Herons? They're actually doing worse than me!

Melissa_Lossa said...

I'm guessing Detroit Blue Herons is blueheron, who lives on the east side of Michigan.

Is team No Wormholes Kyle?

And who is Weagle Weagle War Eagle Fantasy Team?!

lost2010 said...

I'm Weagle.

memphish said...

I'm not sure about commitment to the Island Sayid's Girl because who could be more committed than Locke and he's jumping.

Black Swan said...

Maybe we need a list of who's who in the fantasy league the same way we have a birthday list?

Warning: long post ahead:

From my notes on all the comments:

I'm thinking maybe Daniel's mother may be expecting Desmond. That Daniel may have given her information on recognizing him or that he would be coming. Sort of like Desmond telling Penny not to change her phone number. I don't know but I think Daniel has prepared his mother for Desmond's arrival.

Love this!

memphish also said....
I think they choose what it is they want to tweak in the future. Like Desmond needed a constant.
That's the only thing that changed. Now Desmond needs to help the LBers if what ever it is he has to do works that will be the only thing that changes.

Yes!!

capcom said..

Speaking of Locke's legs a while ago, that will be SO freaky, as someone has said, if Locke got all limpy when he and Boone were at the plane, because Locke got shot in the skipping-time by Ethan. Then Time would not only be like a skipping record, it would be like a magnetic tape cassette where other tracks can be heard over the track that you're listening to. Like Time events can bleed over into other intersecting Time events. Ow, my brain.

I like this and I wonder if they'll show more and more examples?

I really liked Maven's notes after her re-watch and especially these:

maven said...
--Dan is definitely keeping his identity a secret from Chang
--Aaron wants to go "home" and wants to "push the button".
--I get the feeling that Sun is seeking revenge on everyone!
--The episode starts with Chang saying "God help us all" and ends with Mrs. Hawkings saying "God help us all".

Good points! I would also add that it's weird what Kate tells Aaron, "Oh I think choo-choo knows better than that. He goes into that tunnel, he's never coming back out." What kind of thing is that to tell a little kid?

The "God help us all" combined with all the talk of "everyone will die" makes me think we're talking of dire consequences for the whole world, not just a game between Widmore and Ben.

capcom said....
On my rewatch, I thought it was interesting how Daniel knows for sure that Dez is special. I mean, he just kept saying it and making sure that Dez knew that he was very, very, SPECIAL!

Daniel also makes sure he's the only one to talk
to Des... I wonder if Daniel is trying to orchestrate events here more than necessarily telling the truth.

zort said...

My main thought, that I don't think anyone else has expressed, is that if the LB's are not allowed to change the past how can Locke start killing the soldiers ?
It would mean the time travel rules don't apply to him, maybe that is why he is "special" and can lead the others.

Either that Locke is "special" or Daniel isn't telling the truth about not being able to change the past. Maybe he just wants them to THINK that, so that they won't screw up his (Daniel's) agenda.

zort also said...

Does the turning of the wheel act like dropping a big stone in a pond and the ripples fanning out equate to the time jumps?

I like this analogy! I can't remember who said it, but I also liked the pendulum swinging analogy.

I'll save my crazy Faraday = Jacob theory for a little later.... lol!

lost2010 said...

I started to say being born on the island - but we think Miles and Charlotte may have been born there and they jump.

Hmmm.

I was thinking the other day that the Cabin moved within the arena of the island, the same way the island moves within the arena of the world. . . you know? It moves in space and if you go back to the lantern unbreaking, it moves in time. . .but it was confined to the island. . . .And Jacob moved with it. . .and he asked Locke to help him. Just like Daniel asked Desmond to help the leftbehinders. . .

I think, that whatever it takes to help Jacob and his cabin on a small scale. . . will be what it takes to help the leftbehinders and the island on a large scale.

I'm just not sure exactly what all that entails yet.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Ah, I have no idea what it means, but I like it, Lost2010!

Tess315 said...

memphish
I agree Locke is commited to the island. But I also think he's suppose to jump through time. It's his destiny. Sort of like Richard or Desmond. But I could be wrong.

Also I’ve been thinking about my time theory. It seems TPTB are saying the LBers are moving through time. But I think regardless whether they are moving through time or the island is moving through time the outcome will still be the same for the LBers. They are still moving through the islands time not there own either way. Whether it’s the island moving time around them or the LBers are moving through the islands time. They’re not going to change their own past if they’re not in it. And they’re not going to change the island past if they we’re never in that time on the island before.
But we still have to see what these “possible” encounters of iterations of themselves will do. If they happens.
Now I'm going back to read your post Black Swan.
Oh and of course my team is easy to figure out too. :)

Black Swan said...

lost 2010, your thoughts are what led me to my Daniel = Jacob theory... lol!

Black Swan said...

Well the first thing I thought when she said that is that it equated to if you go back to the island you can never come back. Tunnel meaning wormhole.

lost2010said:

Well, I like your ideas!! Good stuff!

memphish said...

I'm glad you ID'ed your ideas Sayid's Girl. I knew they weren't mine because they evidenced some understanding of the time problem which I still lack.

You also nailed the why people jump and don't Sayid's Girl -- it's their destiny. Boy we can wrap up the whole series with that. Not a terribly satisfying rule though.

Tess315 said...

I agree not to satifying. Hopefully it's more than that.

good morning,

i bet it was tough to figure what my name is in the fantasy league.

the line from maven about aaron is still really interesting to me. the kids have always been on jacobs list so i would think that aaron is special also. i dont think that aaron's limited lines just so happen to be those. unfortunately i have no idea what "special" means. being special didnt help walt.

is claire dead? i was trying to think has anyone that is alive talked to one of the o6. hurley sees all dead people. jack dead people.. kate sees claire

Lisa-Maladylis said...

yeah but when Hurley see's Charlie and Jack sees Christian they are both awake. When Kate see's Claire, she is sleeping so it was kinda like a dream. Hey, that's like what Daniel did with Des. He told him something and then Des remembered it in a dream.

Black Swan said...

Ok, sayid'sgirl... thanks!

hmm, Lisa.. you may be onto something there!

Tess315 said...

I think Claire is alive but in a different time.
Like lost2010 said the cabin is moving through time and space.

Tess315 said...

Keeping with time. Is Miles really a ghost whisperer or does he talk to the dead in another time when they were alive?

maven said...

Morning all! My LFL team name is no mystery! LOL

As to the Aaron quotes: I know what they have him saying is just so typical of little kids. But taken in context of what is going on with the show, they fit right in with Aaron's specialness...he might consider the island "home" and he should be the one in charge of pushing all the "buttons".

I wonder if there are time skips within time skips...would that explain Jacob's cabin moving around?

bigdog said...

lisa - ill buy that
sayids girl - since you are the TLC physics professor, is it possible to travel in time or space to the future or only the past? i ask because if TPTB have established time travel once you start how do you stop? or should i say when do you stop.

Capcom said...

Wow, that's really interesting about what Dan's chalkboard says. Especially the chronology protection part, which is the name that Bigmouth at EyeMSick gave to Hawkings, et.al. when they first turned up. I don't know if he saw that on the board. Unfortunately, I can't check my DVD to look at it, as I've loaned it out to my sister and her family already! I kind of had to tho, they got it for me for Xmas. :-}

I also really like the idea that maybe Claire gave Kate a memory similar to Dan and Dez.

Very helpful comments today already! :-D

Tess315 said...

bigdog
I've never laughed so hard. I'm no where near a physics professor.
These are all only my opinions. I could end up being completely wrong.
But my opinion is yes you can travel to the the future also. As far as stopping it. I don't know. That's what Sawyer asked Daniel. "If you can't who can?" My guess within the context of the show it will be Desmond who stops it. But I could be wrong.

Capcom said...

I've wondered if stopping the skipping could be a matter of closing up the glowing gap at the FDW that Ben opened up, by turning it backwards to where it was. ???? It might be too dangerous to go down there near it now though.

Zort70 said...

With all this latest bout of time travel information my latest crazy theory about the island is that the ancient artifacts / technology originiated in the future.

e.g. the island was a perfectly normal island in the far future, but the people living there had evolved beyond the use of five toes (!) and were experimenting in time travel. They used the island for their experiments and there was some kind of accident, it was dislodged from time and kept moving around.

Then at some point the DI found it by accident and discovered a way of anchoring it in time to a fixed spot, or at least a couple of spots. Maybe Ben turning the wheel replicated the original experiment and dislodged the island again.

Also Dan and others keep saying you can't change the rules when talking about time travel, but we know Widmore has supposedly changed one rule by killing Alex.

The other thing I had a thought about is that I'm sure Sun is working for, or at least with, Widmore to try and stop Ben in whatever he is doing.

Zort70 said...

Maybe Mrs Hawking is one of the people from the far future and that is why she knows what needs to happen.

Tess315 said...

I'm reading J. Woods blog and he mentions Foucault Pendulum. (Léon Foucault was a 19th century French physicist who proved the rotation of the earth with a pendulum. In 1851 he hung a 28 kilogram bob on a wire inside the top of the Pantheon dome in Paris. The pendulum appeared to be at rest, but careful observation showed that it swung eleven degrees every hour, and made a full circle in just over 32 hours. The pendulum was slowly rotating with the rotation of the earth. It turns out if the experiment is done at the north or south poles, the pendulum completes a full circle in one day, while at the equator, it hardly moves at all) The Center of Science and Industry in Columbus Ohio has a Foucault Pendulum. I wondered if that was what it was when I seen it.

Black Swan said...

I like your theories, zort!!

Sayid'sgirl, we have one of those Foucault Pendulum at the Detroit Science Center. It's huge and is hung from about 2 stories high. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw it on Lost.

Capcom, I like your idea that they have to close the glowing gap of the FDW. Of course, the Island would have to be in a timeframe of after Ben turned the wheel)... hmmm, I wonder what that cave looks like now?

Capcom said...

Wayne just mentioned a book on Foucault's Pendulum on my Lost blog Sayidsgirl! I've seen those in science museums (in pictures only). That's great that Wood wrote that up, thanks for the pointer to his article and info!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

we have one in Boston as well in the Museum. I thought of it instantly when I saw that on lost.

Capcom said...

Good question Blacky, I'm guessing that it is all glowing from whatever energy the source is radiating out from the gap that opened up...and maybe all the ice is melted? :o) I supposed you'd need a radiation suit to get in there now, and plenty of cotton stuffed up your nose for the bleeding.

I still wonder where all that coldness came from! And was it natural or articifical, and was it purposely for containment like a "cold-trap"?

Tess315 said...

Wow It looked like alot of us was reminded of our Centers of Science and Industry.

blueheron13 said...

Random thought: If Dr. Candle and the DI never made their way into the FDW chamber, then why did he need a parka?

And yes, I had forgotten but I named my team the Detroit Blue Herons.

Black Swan said...

capcom, good guesses on the FDW.. lol, cotton for nosebleeds! Yeah, maybe they cold-trapped it like Michael did with the bomb! TPTB try to give us hints like this:) I hope we get to see it this season!

blueheron13, that's a good argument for the fact that the DI actually DID make it to the FDW chamber. So, you're Detroit Blue Herons... you live near me? I'm in the NE suburbs.

blueheron13 said...

Black Swan,

I'm in Oakland County at the moment but will be moving to Sterling Heights later this year.

bigdog said...

first of all i cant believe work keeps getting in the way of my blogging.

sayids girl - your too modest. i am probably overthinking the show but how do they know if they are in the future if it hasnt happened yet?

zort - i dont believe dan at all about the rules. and Sun will become as ruthless as her father.

Melissa_Lossa said...

We should have a Michigan TLCers party! :) I'll cross over to the East side - my folks still live there.

And good call on the parka!

If you haven't watched the deleted scenes from season 4, there's actually a couple of interesting omissions. One is Miles mentioning that Dan's journal contains research on Dharma. The other is a scene that happens when Hurley takes Claire to the back bedroom after her house blows up. Claire wakes up and asks Hurley what her father is doing there. Hurley looks around and sees no one. Claire then asks him if they're dead. Kind of interesting...

Can you tell I was watching special features last night? ;)

Tess315 said...

bigdog
I don't know how the losties would know if they are in the future. Unless in someway Dainel knows. I think he's been time tripping for awhile.

Capcom said...

I'm getting the suspicion that there are as many types of "rules" in this show as there are "lists"! :-p

Dr.Candlewickwax and his collegues were probably initially issued parkas for their plans, but I would suspect that due to the incident or whatever, not many of them got to use them. :-)

Tess315 said...

That's one of the things that annoys me about TPTB. I know I read or heard somewhere that they said the DI didn't know what was behind the wall of the Orchid Station other than there was a source of energy. But obviously Chang did he seen the sonar picture. And like you said he had a parka. Is Chang DI or not? And how much does he really know?

memphish said...

That sort of goes to what I was saying Sayid's Girl about these videos and the use of the aliases. I think maybe the DI who come and use the videos are playing at silly little games like time traveling bunnies as Ben said but that Chang and the people setting up these DI stations and videos may know a lot more.

blueheron13 said...

I wonder if what we learned about the DI in TLE (saving the world by changing the Valenzetti equation and all that stuff) will turn out to be incompatible with what we see on the show.

Tess315 said...

memphish
That does seem to be the case doesn't it?

Just a few thoughts:
"Lisa said:
yeah but when Hurley see's Charlie and Jack sees Christian they are both awake. When Kate see's Claire, she is sleeping so it was kinda like a dream. Hey, that's like what Daniel did with Des. He told him something and then Des remembered it in a dream."

Very good, Lisa! I definitely agree with that...

"Black Swan said:
The "God help us all" combined with all the talk of "everyone will die" makes me think we're talking of dire consequences for the whole world, not just a game between Widmore and Ben"

I agree, also, regarding the time-jumping:
I think the time jumping is happening because there are no controls in place now. The Swan is blown up, The Orchid chamber is blown out and Ben has activated the FDW. And it seems, the only ones immune to this phenomenon are the original inhabitants. I have to wonder why. My thoughts are that perhaps there is something (or someone?) at the temple that only the original inhabitants are privy to which causes them to be immune to the jumping. IDK/JMO!

"Capcom said:
Daniel also makes sure he's the only one to talk to Des... I wonder if Daniel is trying to orchestrate events here more than necessarily telling the truth."

Yes, I think Daniel definitely has his own agenda. Perhaps he's not the sweet, quirky nerd we all think he is. I still can't help but think about his wonderful portrayal of Charlie Manson!

"Lost2010 said:

That's a good analogy, Lost2010. I can't remember exactly, but did the cabin ever move before the swan blew up? or before John disturbed the circle of ash (or whatever it was) around the cabin when Ben took him there the first time? I think the vial of sand (?) that Richard had in his "panchen-lamah" role when he visited John as a child could be some of that substance that surrounded the cabin. Perhaps that substance is some sort of, oh I don't know, some sort of "anchor" in time and space?

I far as I know the island the cabin didn't move until after Ben took Locke there. When they split up and Locke's group was going to the barracks is when Hurley first seen the cabin. After that Locke had his dream of Horace to find it, although Ben led him to believe only Hurley knew where it was.

Tess315 said...

that shouldn't say the island the cabin It should say the cabin (only) I have the island on the brain.

Ellen said...

That's what I was thinking too, Sayid'sgirl! If I recall correctly, Ben seemed to have no problem leading John there the first time. I wonder how that falls into the timeline of the hatch explosion...
xxoo

Tess315 said...

The hatch explosion was before Ben took Locke to the cabin.

Ellen said...

Yes, even still, we don't know for sure if Jacob asked Locke to "help" him because the cabin was anchored in the present (at that time) and trapped or not. Was Jacob in distress because he was trapped in that cabin? Is that why Christian can speak for him now, because as soon as the cabin became "unstuck" he could then leave? Was that what he wanted help with? I know, I know, so many questions!!!

memphish said...

Gotta weigh in on a potential Sawyer/Juliet ship. 1st of all who has time to well you know with all these time jumps? But more importantly surely Juliet is smart enough not to fall for another guy in love with Kate. If there is any redemption for Juliet ever, surely she is smarter than that.

Ellen said...

Memphish -my thoughts on that are in agreement with you. I don't think that Sawyer will because he loves Kate still, and I don't think Juliette will because of her past experiences.
Not to mention, who has the time? LOL!

But doesn't Sawyer believe Kate and all did not make it? Richard told Locke they were okay, but will he tell everyone?

This is not a spoiler, though it is based on something Damon and Carlton said in that TV Guide video so if you don't want to know skip this comment.

I wonder if the rest of the show will show us first what happens if only some of the O6 get back to the Island in the 70 hour window that Mrs. Hawking gives Ben which will create its own different set of problems than the ones we have right now. Then there will be another iteration where all the O6 get back and possibly even another iteration where O6 get back plus Walt, plus Ji Yeon plus Desmond.

Maven, when Sawyer and Juliette and some others were trying to understand what Daniel was saying and Sawyer asked if the camp was back and Juliette said "we could warn them" and then no one would go to the freighter - I think Sawyer began to have a glimmer of hope that maybe the helo did make it? I don't know, but something in that scene seemed to make me think that maybe Juliette does understand even if Sawyer doesn't and she might hang on to some hope.

Those are some really good questions;just where did Jacob go,and did Locke help him?
The LB's are like a track on a CD
Say #8 for instance.
They are living in their Island time.If the CD is the Island, when random is selected, the LB's will jump and turn up somewhere in the span of Island history. It could be
anywhere in the time span, but they are still themselves.
Stopping this random jumping should make for some interesting story telling.

Black Swan said...

Wow, I come back to see what I missed and you're all talking about what I was wondering... where the heck is Jacob? I really hope we get to see him in this season! (or at least hear him like Locke did... lol!)

With the first two episodes it looks like it's turning out to be all about Daniel and Desmond and the possibility that Daniel has an agenda of his own. I really hope our original Losties turn out to be more than just pawns in all this. I'm wondering also if the "daddy issues" will become relevant and important again, if at all.

memphish, that would be very interesting!

As far as Sawyer and Juliet getting together, I would imagine they would, if for nothing else they both may be feeling a big loss right now with all that's happened and they can relate in this way. I definitely think Sawyer is still thinking of Kate (and at the moment thinks she's dead). His grief and shock was palpable in the first two episodes. Juliet suffers not getting off the Island (again!) and I think she really has a thing for Jack.

Can't wait for tomorrow!!!

maven said...

Jacob is the ultimate question! Is it possible that we're seeing Jacob on a future time line? That just might make it believable that it's future-Locke in full beard and hair. And that's why Ben can only see him and the Others haven't...Ben can skip to his time line?

Black Swan said...

maven, interesting ideas. When you say future Locke, I guess you're assuming Locke is not dead?

maven said...

Well, at least a resurrected Locke once he gets in the right time line.

Black Swan said...

hmmm, now I'm confused again (but I'm getting used to it.. lol!)

maven said...

BS: I'm confused, too, and I'm the one who thought this crazy one up!

LOL, maven!!

New Doc preview is up. Let me just say that, if his interpretations are correct, I am AWESOME for my LOST Island as Boggle Dome theory last week.

maven said...

Oh, HAPPY, HAPPY LOST DAY! We get them once a week now!

Kyle: Are there any spoilers in Doc's column?

And congrats to Sayid'sgirl on being #108 for this post!

FYI: Our very own Capcom has made the "Top 10 Lost Blogs" compiled by Ryan Ozawa of the Transmission! We are so proud of you! This posted on JOpinated's blog.

Happy Lost Day y'all.
Evangeline Lilly was on Regis & Kelly this AM. She said she used to watch all the seasons on DVD to catch her up on what's been happening. This break she just watched all of Kate's fan videos on You Tube, and that was enough.
Great podcast.

Happy Lost Day!

I've been sick with a cold (which takes on a new meaning for me after last weeks Fringe, but I digress...) and if the time travel stuff wasn't hard enough to comprehend before, it certainly is now with head congestion and antihistamines on board. Hopefully my head will clear before tonight.

You know Ben is a powerful man, and has friends in all kinds of places- if it is so darn important for the O6 to get back in 70hours, then why doesn't he just track them down, knock them out/drug them- whatever, and get them wherever they need to be. I mean the hardest ones would be Sayid and Kate, but even Sayid was vulnerable last week. I don't know maybe it's the cold talking, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm starting to sound like Ben now aren't I? ugh.

maven said...

Scoutpost: Hope you're better quick so your head clears for tonight! (Don't remind me of the giant cold virus on "Fringe" UGH)

You make a good point about Ben being able to just basically kidnap everyone. But, unfortunately, that wouldn't make for a great story with lots of drama! It's too simple! LOL

Unknown said...

Maven: They're like his preview columns always are when he's already seen the ep. Sometimes he's a little too on-the-nose, but never really directly gives anything truly vital away. I didn't watch the new video segment at the end, though.

Read fast, read light, forget the specifics as soon as you're done (thinking about lunch helps).

Hi all, just logging on today, had to pick up my nephew#2, while his mom took nephew#1 to get his very first license (shudder!).

You guys are really going gangbusters on interpreting things, wow. I think that Lost is teaching us to be better and better detectives! The heck with CSI shows!

I'm on an online top 10 list?? Wow, I'll have to go check that out. My IBM friends in NY would die laughing because I am so not computer savvy. I'll have to brag to them a little about this one. :o)

Heheh, even though that Fringe virus does not look like the real cold virus, it reminded me of the junk that gags you when you're all congested. My nephew has that now. :-p

Countdown to showtime!

maven said...

Kyle: I watched that video on Doc's column. It was very funny. I did stop when they began to preview tonight's episode because there was a spoiler-alert! But up until that point I think it was worthwhile.

Capcom: That honor is certainly something to brag about!

blueheron13 said...

The end of Doc's video does have mild spoilers, but less spoilery than those darn sneek previews that I can't keep away from on DarkUFO. Those are very spoilery this week.

Capcom said...

Just to make a clarification, I didn't see my blog on The Transmission's top list, Jo put me on her list. BUT, still a nice way to be noticed on a great blog written by a nice person. :-)

I'm unlurking just for a brief moment to introduce myself, since I entered the the fantasy league this year for the first time under the TLC group. I've been reading religiously since the first TLE and enjoy all of your thoughtful and spoiler-free comments. I've even convinced my equally Lostophilic co-worker to join the league as well. So my team is UC is lost in time, space, and sanity and my co-worker's team is x-1 (a strong 3rd place group finish this week!). Keep up the great work! Happy Lost day everyone and I hope that Kyle's Boggle theory holds true, since it's the only one that jives with my limited understanding of the island.

Maybe Christian, and Claire are just cabin sitting until Jacob gets back with some Dharma beer, and snacks.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well being post 108 wasn't too lucky. My power just came back on after 3 hours.
We got 3 inches of snow yesterday and 1 inch of ice over night then another 3 inches of snow on top of that.
Hopefully I'm good for the rest of the day. I don't want to miss Lost tonight.
Now back to read the post made in the last 3 hours.

Tess315 said...

Welcome Uncanny and congrats to your co workers team.
Thanks Capcom. I have a ventless gas heater so I won't get to cold. But now I can fix a good lunch instead of peanutbutter. :) And being on any list is good. Isn't it? ;)
Hope you feel better Scoutpost. Kyle your boggle analogy was much clearer than any explanation I came up with, but I think we're thinking along the same lines, cool.
Off to read Doc's article.

Stay warm and full of electricity, Sayid'sgirl! Welcome to Uncanny...unlurk and join in the fun!

Capcom: The way I read Jo's post was that the list was compiled by Ryan at the Transmission. Whoever compiled it...you're on it! It's still awesome.

Oh, OK, tx Maven! :-x

Sayids Girl - Stay warm. But more importantly the power is back so the TV is back.

Congrats, Capcom, for making it on Jo's list!! Ellen made it on that list, too! (Crazy Georia Lost Fan). Congrats Ellen!

Sayid'sgirl, sorry that being comment #108 didn't work out so well for you!

Welcome, Uncanny!

(off to read Doc's column)

Tess315 said...

Black Swan no biggie. Everytime we get ice we lose power. At least it was only for 3 hours. The last time we lost power because of ice it was for 3 days.

Black Swan said...

Three hours is definitely better than three days, Sayid'sgirl! That was a huge storm that came through! We got a few inches of snow (but we're getting used to that!) Glad you're ok and, I'm assuming, ready for tonight!

Kyle's boggle theory came to my mind tonight when helping with homework and ran across this:

The law of conservation of mass/matter, also known as law of mass/matter conservation says that the mass of a closed system will remain constant, regardless of the processes acting inside the system. An equivalent statement is that matter cannot be created/destroyed, although it may be rearranged. This implies that for any chemical process in a closed system, the mass of the reactants must equal the mass of the products.

I don't know that this quote from wiki helps explain lost, but Kyle's Boggle Theory surely helped explain The Law of Conservation of Matter to a fifth grader.

Thanks!!!

I think when Dan was gone 2 hrs, he may have visited Pierre Chang,and made the comic-con video;
or during a different time jump.

Just stopping in to say hi... haven't been posting here in quite a while. I was away for the first episodes, but I'm caught up now.

Capcom said...

Heh, you could be right about Dan Village! And I agree, our lost Community is very special, and I am always grateful for the day that I accidently stumbled across you guys in a search and became a part of LoCo-ville! :-x

BTW, if Sun serious considers kate to be the other person responsible for Jin's death...well, I don't like Sun anymore, because that is really a stretch to blame Kate. JMO

Capcom said...

Hey Dark! Yay!

Ellen said...

So, are the popups canon? If so, we know who the two are that Sun blames for Jin's death.

Capcom said...

Rats, what did it say Ellen? I'm not really watching, just listening.

memphish said...

I don't know Capcom. I can see Sun's thinking. Kate stopped Sun from going to get Jin for herself and said she would get him. But she didn't. Granted Jack stopped her, but Kate was the only one Jack would have stopped. If I were Sun I'd blame dad, Jack, Kate, Widmore, Keamy and Ben, and might not even stop there.

Tess315 said...

Hey dark.

lost2010 said...

The thing is, Jack wouldn't have taken off without Kate. So, if she had stuck by her word to go get Jin, Jack would have held the chopper for her. . . .maybe I can see how Sun got there.

Ellen said...

It's Ben. and yet...she did make a weird face when she asked about Jack's well-being didn't she? I don't know, I've always felt that Sun really couldn't be trusted. Remember the episode, "Glass Ballerina", and then the episode (?) where she cheated on Jin? Nah, she's got a vendetta in mind, I'd bet on it!

Capcom said...

Sure, I can make the connection, but cryminee, Ben's gotta be high on the list over everyone after Wid, if I were there. :-)

Waht did the popups say?! :-o

Capcom said...

Tx Ellen!

lost2010 said...

How would Sun know that Ben killed Keamy and blew up the boat? I'm sure someone's already mentioned it, but I forget.

Joseph Finchum said...

Hey Dark and every one. Getting ready.

TakesaVillage said...

The pop ups didn't say she blamed Kate

Melissa_Lossa said...

Whew! All caught up. It's been a busy day.

Happy Lost night!

Ellen said...

Lost2010- Sun would know because Jeremy Bentham (Locke) came to see her and probably told her about it.

maven said...

Just popping in: On Steven Colbert last night he had a bit with a fake settlement check for Vioxx made out to: JEREMY BENTHAM.

memphish said...

5 minutes. Where's our new post?

I think Sun would blame Ben because Ben is the reason the freighter was there in the first place. They came for Ben and took all steps necessary to obtain him.

But I do wonder about the canonicity of those pop-ups.

Joseph Finchum said...

The pop up just confirmed that these are army people.

memphish said...

Whose army though?

Joseph Finchum said...

The people who captured Juliet and Sawyer.

Joseph Finchum said...

WHat are they going to nsme him?

Joseph Finchum said...

At least one more Red Shirt dead.

Wow, we hit the ground running tonight!
