Confirmed Dead - Season 4, Episode 2 (Post 2)

Sorry. I know this screen cap isn't from this episode, but we had to pay homage to one of the greatest Sawyer lines yet. "Why question the word of taller ghost Walt?" Priceless. Enjoy your "lag alleviation" post!

Wellllllll, I kind of have to agree with that a little. Picking between, A)a possibly hostile rescue team, and B)a possibly hostile and crazy junglejerk, would give me pause to reflect. I might just go off on my own and take my chances! Although the showers, bathroom, and toilet paper in Otherville would carry a huge draw for deciding in Locke's favor. :-D

This was in the LA Times today:
"Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, the show runners of "Lost," will today begin the complicated task of figuring out what they should do with the second half of their season. When the strike began, eight episodes of the fourth season had been completed, and the producers don't know how many new episodes ABC will want to air before the TV season ends in the spring.

"We have to look at all the notes that were taken right before we left in terms of what we're going to do creatively for the remainder of the season and refresh our memory a little," Lindelof said. "I feel like we're sort of native French speakers who have been away from the country for three months and we're going back to France tomorrow and our diction is going to be a little sloppy."

To me you have to look at the people who went with Locke and the people who went with Jack and understand the reason each character would make their choice. Also she forgets to mention Jack was more than willing to kill Locke if there had been bullets in the gun. So he's just as much a loose cannon as Locke.
I don't feel it's as black and white as Locke is crazy why follow him or Jack is going to get us off the island there's no proof the freighter people are bad. These people have been following someone from the start mostly Jack but Jack seem to be getting a little unstable too if he's willing to kill Locke just so he can be the one to save everyone.
Hurley goes with Locke because of Charlie's warning and he's grieving. Claire goes with Locke also because of Charlie. Sawyer has never liked Jack and has gotten closer to Hurley during the time of Jack's absence. Danielle and Ben don't want to leave the island (or at least Ben doesn't want to be found by the freighter) and Alex and Karl follow them.

Rose has always been close to Jack and maybe she see's Jack's attempted murder just as stress. Kate wants off the island always has. She probably feels she can run again once rescued. Sun needs to get off the island for her baby and Jin will want to be with her. Sayid I think probably feels he can stand and fight no matter who he's with and even though he's had his doubts with Jack he is the leader. And of course Juliette wants off the island not matter what. I'm probably missing someone. But that's just my thoughts Miss Thomas to me seems to be simplifing the decision to much. You have to dig deeper than that. This Lost after all. JMO

Sayid'sgirl: I think you did a pretty good job breaking down the reasons for who went with who and why.
