Good morning everyone!

Good Morning Lhorse007, Catty Girl, Dennis and anyone else who might be lurking.

Looking forward to the new Podcast, I must say doing the audio is getting quite adictive!

For those that missed my post in the last thread I am currently writing a 'Lost' short story which I will be revealing here during the break to keep you entertained.

I figured I couldn't do any worse than the official Lost books!

Good morning. How can I get to the lastest podcast dennis? I think the link is for the 5th and not the 6th.

Lhorse007 Good to see you back, long time no see :)

It looks like they posted the wrong link for the direct download. I don't have iTunes to try that... I'll see if I can find the right link...

Hey we took the Spoiler Warning off the show! At least for this episode we're pretty much Spoiler Free. IT's all pure speculation!!

So don't forget to send us content. We'll keep podcasting as long as everybody sends us stuff to talk about and phone calls to germinate about. WORD!!!

Chris Procter said...

WORD Passafist - looking forward to listening to the podcast when I get home tonight :)

Do we have any ideas of the numbers of subscribers and downloaders?

I note Lostcasts are down at the moment maybe we could steal some of their 22,000 subscribers!

A poster called Gunblademaster started a thread at WatchLost.Com, called: You Know You Have Seen Too Much Lost When...

Here's some of the best comments.

You Know You Have Seen Too Much Lost When ... your computer starts with the Lost beginning music.

You constantly yell "Don't tell me what I can't do!" at authority.

You accidently call your Golden Retriever, Vincent!

You spend more time talking about Lost than you do watching it!

You actually know the difference between Scott and Steve.

You believe that your parents are potentially 'others' because they know too much about you!

Actually use the Lost numbers to play the lottery and expect to win.

Your cry of "Bad Robot" at the end of the show is in PERFECT timing.

Chris Procter said...

Ooops - that sounds far too much like me!

how about...

You scrutinise everything that crosses your desk at work in case it has clues, especially if it contains one or more of the numbers.

You have 10 or more Lost sites in your favourites section.

Your wife/husband has a look they reserve for anytime you mention Lost.

You look for Lost reference in other unrelated shows

.... and find them.

You spend too much time writing pointless list like this...

Hello!

To answer a question from the previous post, I believe we knew from Desmond's flashback that he was dishonorably discharged, but we weren't told why. I could be wrong in my memory, though.

Chris Procter said...

Hi Blueheron13, Yes I think that you are right. We know he had a dishonourable discharge and I believe it was mentioned that it was not following orders but beyond that who knows.

I wonder if Desmond served in the first Gulf War, could there be a Desmond / Sayid cross over? After all Kelvin met Desmond in Iraq!

Wow, it's quiet here today, well I'm off home....

Morning LoCo...

Can't wait to listen to the next podcast! Keep 'em coming passafist!

And a comment on the Kate pregnancy speculation. I can't really see that happening. After all, after 2+ years of Lost, we're only on day 70 something. If she gets knocked up, she wouldn't even know for sure for another year/year and a half of our viewing time and a baby wouldn't be born until sometime in 2015. Unless Dr. Juliet, the evil fertility doctor, takes the embryo and treats it with a mysterious serum made from the amazing aging Walt's blood, in which case baby Skate will be going to her island prom sometime in February.

And in my opinion, that would be jumping the shark. HA!

April and Eli said...

Good Monday morning all. It's the first Monday in awhile without a new Lost to look forward to, so I hope everyone holds up OK. At least we still get our podcasts.

FYSB, that's quite a plot line leading up to a prom! Wow, you have an active imagination. I need some caffeine and then I might get there too.

Heya, all,

I am a LONG, LONG time lurker, even from the beginning of TLE. I figured that if I joined in the conversation, that I would be hooked and would get nothing done... LOL

Now, I have a dilemma... I downloaded these last six episodes from itunes. I would like to put them on a DVD. Is this possible? I have Record Now! and it is giving me the option to make a music CD, data disc or an exact copy of a DVD.

Help!!!

Dennis said...

Deja Vu said... I downloaded these last six episodes from itunes. I would like to put them on a DVD. Is this possible?

If you just want to "save" the files to DVD, you would want to make a Data Disc.

If you want to make an actual DVD that you can play in a regular DVD player, you are not going to be able to do that with your iTunes files. They are copy protected and will only play on your computer. Even if you could convert them, the resolution is not really very good.

Capcom said...

Happy-Week-One-Without-Lost folks, let the countdown begin!

Glad to hear that your dental woes are over DA. Yes, the pain of medical experiences can be two-fold.

Hi Fizzbee. Kate could still get pregs, but you're right, unless the island hits a time-warp we won't see the birth. Unless all TPTB cares about for the story is Juliet being able to harvest the fetus. We won't see Sun's either unless it gets the Amazing-Walt-Aging-Juice too. YIKES, don't say jump-the-shark here, it makes someone get violently angry at us! :-O

Funny list about Lost addiction, but I can out-geek that, I still have 152 sites bookmarked in my Lost favorites from TLE that I haven't deleted yet.....I'm afraid TLE will start up again after I delete them all! I know, pathetically wishful thinking that TLE will start again. And here's another for the list: when your kids don't behave, you tell them, "You'd better watch, out Smokey's gonna get you for that!"

That New York TV article was pretty interesting and had a very good point, which I think we've covered well in this blog. But two seasons only is a little ridiculous. I'd say, plan for five, and see what happens with the ratings and story at that point....and make sure that the writers have a CLEAR VISION for the story if season extensions are planned. I don't think there is anything wrong with planning an ending to a series (mainly because it would hopefully mean that you'd get a REAL ending, i.e., completing the entire tapestry that was woven for the story with a logical finale).

Anonymous said...

Maybe the subject of the podcasts to come in the next weeks could be about a specific character each week. For example a show or segment specifically about Sayid; re-hashing his backstory (to refresh our memories)as it's been fed to us through flashbacks and what he's done on the island thus far, and so on through the main characters. We all might realize something we might have missed.

Just a thought...love this week's podcast!

Thanks,
Chris

P.S......glad I'm not the only one who yells "Bad Robot" right before the previews! :-D I'm not, right?

Don't forget to say "Previously...on Lost" when the show before Lost ends, too!

Great idea Gromitsdad.

April and Eli said...

I like gromitsdad's idea too. If we don't get much new content to discuss, I think the podcasts can help lead board discussion.

Also, it doesn't have to be limited to specific characters. There could be one about island mythology, one about all the coincidental run-ins in flashbacks, etc.

I'd like it if the front page announced the upcoming topic, then we all submit emails/voice mails throughout the week, and actual discussion wouldn't start until the podcast "airs".

Also, love the idea for a Christmas/Kwaanza/Hanukkah/Holiday podcast! Didn't someone call it ChrismaHanuKwaanzahak last year? I probably spelled that wrong.

Dennis said...

Goog,

Do you have a list of the questions you guys asked in the last podcast?

Anonymous said...

I know you said word but it's got to be Gimpy McCrutch as Sawyer referred to Locke last season...

Passafist said...

Dennis,

I posted the list over in the Message Board!!! Let me fetch it!!!

Here's a place to discuss episode 6 of the podcast.

Here are the 11 or so questions I asked on the podcast....

1. Is Sawyer a fair choice for Kate?

2. Why did Ben go traipsing through the woods to find the "tailies" and not send somebody else?

3. Who is this Jacob guy?

4. What are the others working on?

5. If Kate's so happy being married why does she keep calling the Marshall?

6. What was Sawyer up to while Kate was with Jack?

7. Why is Kate being left alone while Sawyer is getting the brunt of the punishment?

8. What's North? Is it the others? Is it the other Hatch?

9. How come Jack is Forgetting about Sawyer? Does Sawyer get to go with Kate?

10. What is the relationship between Alex and Ben?

11. Why wasn't Jack on Jacob's list?

Oh and I got a jingle too - Yeah!!!

April and Eli said...

No, passafist, we're just all typing novels to reply to all the questions. That's a lot to think about!

blueheron13 said...

Maybe it's just me, but even though Jack is currently pulling the strings in the operating room, I'm still having a hard time seeing how he'll benefit in the long run from his actions.

Let's look at some scenarios:

1. The Others concede to Jack's demands and let Kate and Sawyer run free. If this happens, I assume that Jack will finish the operation and Ben will survive. But if this happens, Jack will potentially make a fierce enemy of Juliet, while Ben, though perhaps grateful to be alive, will probably not be too pleased to learn that his life was hanging in the balance during Jack's power play. Ben might even rescind his offer to take Jack home (assuming Ben even has the power to do this--Jack didn't seem to ask Ben for proof beforehand).

2. The Others call Jack's bluff and Jack lets Ben die. If this happens, Jack will have to live with murder on his conscience. Also, while he might have Juliet on his side, he would presumably have to face an angry pack of Others who know that Ben's death was his fault and no accident. Plus, Sawyer and Kate would not have escaped, and Jack may have lost his best chance to get off the island (with Ben).

3. The Others call Jack's bluff but Jack saves Ben. If this happens, Jack will have gained nothing. Sawyer and Kate will still be hostages, and (as in scenario #1) both Juliet and Ben might well be Jack's enemies.

In any of these scenarios, I don't see things working out well for Jack. Granted, I don't know what a better plan would have been. Is there anything I'm not seeing here?

April and Eli said...

I've decided to respond to question #1 for now: is Sawyer a fair choice for Kate?

Remember the old saying that opposites attract. While K & S may have some similarites, S represents something K can't be. She cannot keep breaking the law time and time again and feel OK about herself. S seems to show no remorse, especially given that K doesn't know as much about his past that we do. Thus, S is someone she admires because he can break the law and keep doing it just fine (so it seems). She has a duality about her like most people do. [Picture those overly-used shoulder angels/devils - my favorite would be from The Emperor's New Groove.]

Chris Procter said...

Ok so to the questions:

1. Is Sawyer a fair choice for Kate?

Yeah, I guess so, Jack annoys me and whilst I am not a great Kate fan< I think Sawyer's a great character so I'm glad he got the girl

2. Why did Ben go traipsing through the woods to find the "tailies" and not send somebody else?

Because Ben was dying, he had nothing to lose and everything to gain, there also may be an element of arrogance in that maybe he didn't feel anyone else could do it, and they already knew who Tom was so he couldn't go.

3. Who is this Jacob guy?

Insufficient data to compute, uh basically I don't know I'll come back to that but I don't think it's Mr Patchy.

4. What are the others working on?

The new Island Mall, oh, seriously, I think it is an archaeological dig not a construction site, we have already seen the fout toed statue, could this be the site of the lost city of the four toed folk?

5. If Kate's so happy being married why does she keep calling the Marshall?

She needs closure, the threat of capture is killing her, the constant looking over he shoulder, or Maybee she saw Schofield do it on Prison Break and thought it was a good idea!

6. What was Sawyer up to while Kate was with Jack?

I got the impression that she was only gone 10 minutes or so, I thought he was probably getting more fish biscuits

7. Why is Kate being left alone while Sawyer is getting the brunt of the punishment?

Now Pickets knows/believes that Kate loves Sawyer he wants her to feel the pain he felt at the loss of Colleen. He is only using Sawyer to emotionally hurt Kate in the way he has been hurt.

8. What's North? Is it the others? Is it the other Hatch?

305 is not a biblical reference it is a bearing (approximately North by North West) but I am not sure what to, the flame hatch would be the best bet, except for the bearing to be of any use the stick would have to be dropped in the right place and how would Eko know where the flame hatch is?

9. How come Jack is Forgetting about Sawyer? Does Sawyer get to go with Kate?

I understand they cut a line where Jack tells Kate to free Sawyer

10. What is the relationship between Alex and Ben?

I think I answered that in the podcast ;)

11. Why wasn't Jack on Jacob's list?

He wasn't a good person?

Chris Procter said...

Oops forgot to keep up the formatting

Blueheron13 I agree, that was my big question, Jack looses whatever he does, and in my eyes, Ben put his trust in Jack as a doctor, no matter what else Jack does he has a duty to carry out the surgery to the best of his abilities as promised, if not then I think he is fair game for Mr. Smokey. All I can think is that it is another manifesation of Jack's hero complex and he is trying to be all noble sacrificing himself to save Kate and Sawyer.

also for the rest of the group... In refernece to the podcast,
what did you like best about the show?

What do you think failed miserably?

Where did we go to far and where didn't we go far enough?

How can we improve the show?

What one thing should we stop doing?

If we came up with a 30 sec audio promo to promote the show would you guys help us post it all over the internet?

- DA, Thanks for the comment. I hadn't considered that Jack may be sacrificing himself.

- Goog and Passafist, another fun podcast. Keep up the good work.

- One suggestion for future podcasts: Perhaps a discussion of unanswered questions? These could be both major questions ("Where are we, guys?") to minor questions that are still bugging people. One of mine would be "Why did everyone on the plane black out when they put on their oxygen maks?" Or maybe there is already a list of questions out there that someone has compiled? If it exists, it must be a long list!

Chris Procter said...

I know there is a list of unanswered questions of Dark Ufo's Blog and I think there is also a thread on the Fusalage.

memphish said...

Blueheron, I agree about Jack having no options for himself. So is this his last redemption play? Last thread someone said that he showed growth by accepting Kate being happy with Sawyer similar to how he asked if Sarah was happy in the first episode. Is this the end for Jack?

blueheron13 said...

DA, I checked out the unanswered questions at the Dark UFO blog. That is a great list. I didn't realise there are so many! Scary how many more questions there are than answers.

Memphish,
I hope this isn't the end for Jack. His character is very interesting and Fox is a very good actor. I love the tension in every scene between Ben and him, and between Juliet and him.

OK, I'm outta here.

memphish said...

Blueheron, Hopefully you'll catch this tomorrow. Maybe the out Jack will have is that he will indeed save Ben and as Ben told Michael, "a deal's a deal." That bug-eyed guy has a weird sense of honor after all. Of course, there's still a lot of speculation that "home" means Island #1, not the land of Fox Sports. We'll see.

I finally saw the Eko episode. Probably was all the pre-talking about it that I did but it fizzled for me. At the end where Eko wouldn't confess, it seemed kind of hollow. I read on TV.com that the Eko's dying words to John were, "You're next." Did we speculate ad nauseum about what that meant and I missed it?

Hey, Tall Guy, the last line of your post is a spoiler. Can you delete it please? Thanks!

#1 Gorillaz Fan,

Now that's the episode I'm waiting for the Smoke Monsters Flashback.

He was born to poor parents in Pakistan, grew up in the harsh Siberian Desert hearding goats, when one day he's picked up accidentally by a man named Henry Gale in a Hot Air Ballon and Dropped in the middle of a Mysterious Island, where he develops a God Complex, and starts Judging the Islands Inhabitants. Now that would be awesome!!!

Dennis,
Hasn't that poor goat suffered enough!?

Memphish,
I like your speculation about how Jack could get out of his predicament.

Gorilla,
My favorite theory that I've heard regarding Smokey is that it was designed to judge people as "good" or "bad", kill the "bad" people, and thereby reduce the world's population and change the fate of humanity as predicted by the Valenzetti Equation. But it has now gotten "loose" on the island. I personally don't think any person our group is controlling it at the moment.

Hi All! Good comments today.

Dennis, poor Charlotte! Maybe you've created a new kind of voodoo hex....the voodoo avatar, instead of the voodoo doll. You'd better change it for her quick. Put her in a picture with Vincent the Amazing Retriever healer dog. Ah, remember the good old ROT site days? They never did continue that comic story about the retrievers past page one, I wanted to read more.

DA, re: your ironing...............you're a good hubby! :-)

Yes, it will be interesting to see if Ben again says that a deal is a deal, when he comes out of the anesthetic, if he does comes out of it alive. If not, Jack's boned as far as Tommy is concerned. If Ben does not come out of it, and Jack mentions that Juliet wanted Ben dead anyway, how will she control those crazy macho guys Tom and Dan? And anyone else that liked Ben, for that matter. She is going to have a handful of trouble, not as easily as she planned it if Jack had been quiet about slipping up the operation. She may have to run back to Lostaway Beach with Jack. That would make for interesting story, if we ever got island story. Yes Blueheron, the unanswered Qs are definitely piling up. I would SO like some explaination about the blast door map, which does not exist anymore now. :-( Think that you could make something up about that DA when you write your Lost story?

Thanks for the Dark UFO site, BTW.

Capcom said...

You know, the DarkUFO site goes over some interesting points, perhaps we can also add discussion of any of those points during The Break?

Capcom said...

Oh-oh-oh! I just thought of a way that Nikki and Paolo could be Others (unless someone said it already and I missed it): maybe they were some of the Others that we've been suspecting could have been on flight 815! So then they would be Others, AND be on the manifest. Of course then Ben wouldn't necessarily have had to send Ethan and Goodwin to check out the survivors, but Ben would not really know if the 815 plants survived the crash or not.

DarkUFO thinks that it's possible that Jacob could be a backup plant of sorts for Ethan, after Ethan failed to get a complete list, which is one possibility among many. And then that made me think about someone's (not mine) theory that N and P could be Others and I thought of the above. I dunno, I'm just ruminating here on my own while I'm reading other people's blogs. :-)

April and Eli said...

Capcom, you're supposed to refer to N & P as BEEP and BEEP to avoid putting swear words here. :)

I really like the theory that they were Others planted on the flight. I'm still not sure if Others knew the plane would crash, but that would prove it to me.

Capcom said...

Oops, sorry Life, did I miss that in the posts??? Glad to oblige, I don't like to remember their names anyway! I was thinking of calling them Dumb and Dumber. :-D

Well, someone a lonnnnnng blogtime ago once mentioned that there might be a runway of sorts on the island, and that the plane was possibly planned to land there (you know, with Oceanic owned partly by THF) but Desmond's almost-missed button pushing caused it to crash. Then it would make sense that Beep and Beep could have been plants on the plane. I don't believe in the runway theory totally, but since we have no other sure-things to go on yet in Season 3(!), I'm game for just about any theory at this point.

Capcom said...

Heh-heh, Beep and Beep are "plants" alright, in the vein of vegetation!!! Man, I'm so mean, Redhex is going to start yelling at me again. :-) I'm just waiting for the nephews to get here for after-school babysitting, so I have nothing to do but type mean things after I read other people's Lost blogs. :-O

Okay, I'm up and moving after the chemo Friday, what a bear (or should I say polar bear?)

I completely believe that Ben was expecting the plane. So I think the probability of a runway on one of the islands (and we don't really know how any islands there are) is completely possible.

Of course, I kind of thing the rock project S & K were working on could have been a landing strip, not for a big plane though. I would consider Flight 815 to be a heavy and it would need a true runway, it wouldn't fit on a landing strip but the drug plane would have.....

I always end up back at ... I don't know

1. Is Sawyer a fair choice for Kate?
NO! So rarely is the best person for us so like us. I think Kate needs Jack’s steadiness and he needs her spirit. While ok for a fling (not loving that idea, but whatever) Sawyer just feeds the parts of Kate that need to be balanced. I think this is a further example of the dramatization of relationships. It serves nothing but to teach how not to have a relationship. Of course, this is a drama, and not a marriage. What can I say, I’m kinda conservative.

2. Why did Ben go traipsing through the woods to find the "tailies" and not send somebody else?
No one can do the job better than you can do it yourself. He’s micro-managing. All of the OTHERS that went to the “tailies” died for their efforts. He thinks he’s smarter than the rest of them.

3. Who is this Jacob guy?
Donno

4. What are the others working on?
Permanent residence for the Losties. Or a hospital for Jack.

5. If Kate's so happy being married why does she keep calling the Marshall?
Because Kate really doesn’t want to run. She wants to stay. She wants to hear that they aren’t after her anymore for the Dad thing. She’s scared and the Marshall knows who she is…. She needs that touch-stone.

6. What was Sawyer up to while Kate was with Jack?
Worrying.

7. Why is Kate being left alone while Sawyer is getting the brunt of the punishment?
Kate would think that the punishment was deserved (for her) and would just take it. Sawyer fights back…it’s more fun for the Others.

8. What's North? Is it the others? Is it the other Hatch?
THE ENTRANCE TO THE HYDRA. I do think that Sawyer and Kate are on another island. I think it’s connected through the Hydra. The Others just found a great vantage point to show Sawyer he couldn’t swim back to his island. They like breaking people.

9. How come Jack is Forgetting about Sawyer? Does Sawyer get to go with Kate?
I think that he knows that she’d never go without Sawyer. I don’t think he’s expecting her to…I think it’s a ploy for the 3 of them to go free.

10. What is the relationship between Alex and Ben?
I think Ben sees Alex as his “special project”. She’s the one no-one has been able to break. Ben likes breaking people and THINKS he’s good at it.

11. Why wasn't Jack on Jacob's list?
Do we know he wasn’t? We’ve seen Klugh’s list, but not Jacobs, necessarily.

tlcm said...

I don't think that P&N or N&P are worth discussing. BUT If they are not red shirts, I predict they will fade into the background once our main characters are reunited.

I'm more concerned about how P#SSed Jack will be when he finds out that what Ben meant when he said he'd take him home he was talking about the losties' island and not the main land. I suppose I will be glad that at least Jack will be back with the other losties.

Oops sorry Life, I didn't get to listen to the podcast yet, too much babysitting and interference. I have to try to get to that tomorrow. BTW, love your kitty. :-)

I could agree with you on #2 Olerica, if you want something done right, do it yourself.

But don't agree with #1, screwed up people don't deserve to be with non-screwed up people....until they get their act together anyway.

I find it just weird how we all feel (even on other blogs!) about the Beeper Twins! Never have we reacted to any new characters like this so far. Well, some people didn't like Ana L. on another blog, but for the most part people sympathized with her sincere desire to protect people. It must be some cosmic sense that we get that TPTB have thrown them in for all the wrong reasons. Until we find out that they are the most important characters to the entire story! :-D What if they are the two kids in the creepy image on the "whereisalvar" or "apollocandy" website (I forget which one) before it officially came up?! Yeah, like we'll ever get an answer to any of those TLE questions. :o(

TLCM, hang in there. Did you say once that this was your second time around with chemo? If so, I have to say that you are stronger than I am, if I have to do that again I am going to take a pass on it and take my chances I think.

Capcom said...

BTW, has anyone ever asked TPTB if they are ever going to have more of the Lostaways start drawing conclusions about the connections that they all have with each other? That would definitely make for some interesting story (and then TPTB wouldn't have to bring more new Beeps in). We did get the Jack/Desmond and Jack/Sawyer/Christian links exposed, but I guess that Jack will never find out now that he was in a roundabout way responsible for Shannon's father dying. Locke could mention to Sayid that a foreign woman named Nadya hired him for a job once, and Hurley could mention an Elizabeth or Libby to Desmond. I'd like to see the look on Desmond's face if that happened.

Yeah, I think the reason that it (Black S.Monster) is killing people is that it is weeding out the good from the bad, The Dharma Team wanted a utopia lifestyle, but it got out of control and had to be locked within the 6 hatches, i think it makes a gate almost and stops it from re-leasing, i think the hatch with the T.V's makes sure that they dont slack and let ol'smokey out..The bodies that were found in the cave might have been ol'smoakys kills and the bears might have picked up the kill.

Hey that's OK #1 gorrilaz fan - I feel like a politician having someone else write a speach for me ;)

Twinkle Lost Day in the UK used to be a Wednesday (and Friday) and um possibly other days (each Channel here has sooo many spin offs channels most programmes are repeated 3 or 4 times in the week). Sky are showing it on a Sunday on Sky 1 and then it's repeated on Wednseday and then Friday on Sky 2.

Capcom said DA, re: your ironing...............you're a good hubby! :-) LOL - I'll frame that comment and show it to my wife, to be honest I don't trust her to iron my shirts properly so It's become my job to do all the ironing!

I'm hope to have the short story complete in a week or so, unfortunately no blast door map in it, I have tried to steer clear of anything that would conflict with anything we know or might find out while still getting in that 'lost' mystery element.

I like the Runway theory, maybe there is a runway somewhere , Flight 815 did seem awefully low to me.

That would be me Cam! Although actually I got the idea from Dark UFO's blog!

Talking of the Bleep twins I think that TPTB are intentionally making them look dumb and useless so that when later on they reveal that Niki and Paulo are actually Others, or CIA agents or Widmore plants or whatever the big twist is it will be even more shocking. IMHO they are probably Ninja's. Only Ninja's can battle the Piratical Others!

Thanks. We took her to the vet yesterday, so hopefully she'll start feeling better soon.

I changed the picture to break the "voodoo curse" of the smoke monster. I changed the 8 to a 12 since there are 12 more weeks to go until a new lost.

Dennis Good to see Charlotte has escaped from Mr Smokey.

Ib4UC I predict that next week Charlotte will have an 11...

Zort There is an interesting theory from Entertainment Weekly's Jeff Jensen. It is on the Tail Section Here . It in it he suggests that Locke and Sayid will go north and stumble across Othersville.

Chris Procter said...

Zort The Whole 'Hollow Earth' Idea has been discussed at various points but to me it seems to Fantastice to sell as a credible plot line. How did a Airliner get into the Earth's Centre without anyone noticing? It would seem to stretch all credibility that not one passenger noticed that they were flying over 100 miles of ice sheets before descending through the earth's crust into 'Agarta' or whatever the Earth's hollow core is meant to be called. Of course it could be that the plane passed through some kind of portal or 'crack between worlds' but again it doesn't seem to sit with the plot so far.

ib4uc said...

dark angel... I think your prediction is right on!

My thoughts on the 'north', I assumed that's where Othersville was (on the same island, if, in fact, Ben was telling the truth about 2 islands).

Locke and his merry men will find a way to the other island (maybe tunnel or sub) and have a run-in with the others trying to save J/K/S.

Chris Procter said...

Ib4uc said...
dark angel... I think your prediction is right on!

Well it was Jeff Jensen that came up with it not me, so all credit to him, the full theory is :

Remember the whole theory that there are two groups of Others? This idea was widely debated/speculated in the wake of the Dharma reveals early last season--that perhaps "the Others" are comprised of two competing actions, one still connected to Dharma, and one opposed to it (perhaps they are ex-Dharma; maybe they were already on the island). If we return to the idea, maybe season three begins to make more sense.

1. Two months ago, ALL of the Others lived together in the commune, to the north of the island. [This is the meaning of the passage on Mr. Eko's stick; it is directing Locke and co. to where they can find the village that we saw in the season premiere.] Let's call this larger body The Collective, a nod to our good friend and fellow Lost theorist, Andrew Smith

2. The leader of The Collective is the mysterious He/Him, whom we have not yet met. He/Him is all about the lists, the kidnapping of the kids, and the fixation with good people/bad people. This leader could very well be Patchy

2a. My theory? The Collective is the custodian agency of Dharma, designed to police its out-of-control legacy, or posssibly execute its function: bringing people to enlightenment.

3. Juliet was married to Ethan. Goodwin was Mr. Friendly's partner.

4. At some point, there was a schism within The Collective pertaining to the policy toward the castways. Specifically, there was a growing bitterness toward the castaways in light of the killings of Goodwin and Ethan. The dissenting group--the Others--wanted revenge against the castaways for the murders.

5. Number One, who clearly wielded a hyper-controlling, svengali-like hold on The Collective, opposed the Others' quest. The schism was a turning point in his leadership; it gave the dissenting Others motivation to stand up to him. Hence, their obsession with "free will."

6. Ben was the Number Two of The Collective. He agreed to help the Others escape the rule of Number One, in exchange for a promise--to coerce Jack into operating on his tumor.

7. At some point, perhaps as long ago as the season finale of season one, or perhaps sometime in season two, the rebellion took place, and since then, the Others have been pursuing a two-fold mission: a. making good on their promise to Ben b. executing a plan of eye-for-an-eye vengeance against those who have killed Others among the castways: Ana Lucia, Sawyer, and Charlie.

My prediction?

Juliet is going to help Kate and Sawyer escape--although the deal is that she gets to go with them. Her end game: to get back to the beach and kill Charlie, who killed her husband, Ethan.

Juliet will gain the trust of the Beach Camp by outing the spy in their midst--this mysterious Jacob fellow. With their trust gained, Juliet will take advantage of it to try and kill Charlie. She will be stopped, and interrogated by Sayid. In the interrogation the true history of the Others will be revealed.

Your belief that Ben might have been serious about wanting to change Jack's perspective, to make him want to save him, may be rooted in a kind of reality. If I'm right that the Collective Others had a benevolent mission, and Ben's only interest in being with the Others is to save his life, Ben might still be sympathetic to that mission.

I bet Jack performs the surgery on Ben. Ben survives, and then makes good on his promise to Jack by helping him escape the Others.

I like the idea that Tom and Goodwin were partners!

ib4uc said...

dark angel... I like this theory, but,

Did Sawyer kill an Other? Or does he mean Eko?

Chris Procter said...

Yes, that was what I wondered, I think he must have meant Eko because I can't remember Sawyer killing anyone on the Island.

Passafist said...

Sawyer killed on other. Remember when they were running away from the others before they got captured at the end of season 2 Sawyer took out somebody who was shooting at him.

You must have missed it, but The Speaker explained the "creepy kids" in A Conversation with Tom and Andy Part 2:

ANDY: Funny story, before WiA went up, our mate Nicky was demonstrating the site for ABC. It was only for TEN minutes but the fans ganked the temporary photos. I believe LOSTPEDIA captioned one of the pictures as "creepy kids."

They were random shots from her desktop! A couple friends and then her boyfriend and his sister.

TOM: All that speculation!

ANDY: I know!

Good morning TLC!
passafist, congrats to you and goog on another wonderful podcast! I'm really enjoying them. Fav parts: Bleep twins and Dark Angel's intro.
DA, looking forward to your short story!

Doc Jensen has some very interesting ideas. Mine are totally different, but I'm usually wrong anyway. For what it's worth, here's my answers to the questions brought up in the podcast:

1. Is Sawyer a fair choice for Kate?
I don't know if it's "fair", but it's a stupid choice since they're too much alike. Much more sense if she hooked up with Jack. They'd bring out the best in eachother. (He'd refuse to ever let her go and not-running is what she really wants. She needs someone she respects to really be in love.)

2. Why did Ben go traipsing through the woods to find the "tailies" and not send somebody else?
I think Ben went out on his own since nobody else would go with him to get Jack (because they fear Jacob). Ben needs Jack for his surgery (I don't believe him when he says to Locke that he came to get him) and he's not as afraid of Jacob since Jacob is his father.

3. Who is this Jacob guy?
He's HIM, and he's also Ben's father. I don't think he's Mr. Patchy.

4. What are the others working on?
They need more cages for the Hydra. There are lots more plane crash survivors to catch, torture, and use for their unknown purposes.

5. If Kate's so happy being married why does she keep calling the Marshall?
She really does want the taco-night life. She also is bummed about not being pregnant, since she now can keep running (which she really doesn't want to do).

6. What was Sawyer up to while Kate was with Jack?
dreaming of the night before

7. Why is Kate being left alone while Sawyer is getting the brunt of the punishment?
The others may have rules about the treatment of women. More likely, Kate may be a mole or in on some secret that Ben told her on the Beach at breakfast. She possibly made a deal with Ben to do what she did with Sawyer.

8. What's North? Is it the others? Is it the other Hatch?
As I said before (if you're talking about the Jesus stick) Lift up your eyes (go to a high place) and look north .. will enable John to see Falcatraz island.

9. How come Jack is Forgetting about Sawyer? Does Sawyer get to go with Kate?
I guess we'll have to wait til Feb.

10. What is the relationship between Alex and Ben?
I think Ben was surrogate father for Alex when they took her from Danielle. She may not know she's "adopted".

11. Why wasn't Jack on Jacob's list?
Jacob only needed Kate and Sawyer (not sure why yet), but Ben needed Jack. Maybe Alex put Jack on the list so he could help her "father" (Ben). She seems to get away with things (since Jacob = Alex's "grandfather"?) and is a bit of a rebel.

Chris Procter said...

Passafist good point about Sawyer killing the Other, I had forgotten that.

Codysmom Yes, I was very impressed with my intro :)

I Like the idea of Jacob being Ben's father. It's funny everyone seems to have picked up on Jacob as real important which either means, he is going to be a significant new charachter or it's a total red herring.

Dennis said...

DarkAngel,

The new column has an interesting change to #3:

3. Juliet was the sister of Ethan, the Claire-abducting Other from season 1. Goodwin, the Other killed by Ana Lucia in season 2, was married to Mr. Friendly. Yep: Tom is gay. Hence, the ''You're not my type'' comment to Kate in the season premiere.

It makes more sense than her being married to Ethan. However, I don't agree with a lot of his theories. Especially, the whole Juliet joining the Losties to kill Charlie. That's pretty far fetched.

Chris Procter said...

Hi Dennis,

I agree I think there is more to the whole story arc than just revenge. I think Juliet is going to prove to be a very complex character and it is going to be a long time before we truely know her motives, it is vcertainly a big step from being a fertitlity doctor to shooting someone in cold blood.

Black Swan said...

I saw on Good Morning America today that the Internet is the 5th wonder of the world. I was touched about how they said that at first the experts thought the internet would isolate people but what really has happened is it has allowed for a more global community, with message boards and chat rooms, emails and forums, people are building their own internet families. That's very interesting! I remember back in the mid 90's I was taking a "Computers in Education" grad class where we were discussing the isolation/global community debate. I took the view of the internet bringing people together and I believe it has been proven to be true. Interestingly, it brings such diverse people together, which would not be possible otherwise (diverse being people from other countries, with various disabilities, various backgrounds in education and religion, of all ages, etc). This blog is a perfect example of that!

Oh I know those Apollo kids weren't real, but it would just be funny if TPTB tied in any of the TLE with Lost eventually, and that the "Creepy Twins" turned out to be the "Bleeper Twins". TPTB are instisting on tying in Matthew Fox's personal tattoos into the storyline, they could stand to tie in some actual Lost/TLE related events. I am so starving for some connections of the dots of any kind for the past three seasons, I would accept even that about teh Bleepers. :o)

Gosh TLCM, your fourth time? God bless ya! Also, your kittys look like my deceased Jellybean and Spike kittys.

Haha Ib4uc, pitdu! I was wondering where K and S did their unmentionables in their cages. But I really could have gone without the scene of Bleep coming out of the Pearl bathroom, but I think as someone said, perhaps TPTB were giving us a hint as to where the mysterious Smoking Dude was hiding when Locke and Eko went into the Pearl.

Chris Procter said...

Hi passafist Personally I am a hater of prank calls, especially on radio shows but that's probably because I used to speak to people on the phone who had just lost close family members. BUT from a production view point as long as the expletives are deleted then why not - even better replace them with N**** or P****!

I am going to try doing an interview on location for this weeks podcast from the heart of London's West End. I'll be editing it late Saturday night UK time (NYC+5). I'm meeting two friends of mine who are comming across from Wales and thought that I would interview them for the podcast. It'll be interesting what you guys make of a proper South Wales accent (Cathrine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins don't count).

memphish said...

Passafist, I like DA's idea that you insert N**** and P**** for the bleeps. At this point we need something to listen to/talk about. I'm trying not to watch the previews from Daybreak. I feel like the previews have been giving far too much away this year. I don't enjoy an episode as much if I've seen half of it beforehand.

Chris Procter said...

I think I'm going to download and Watch Jerico in the break, anyone know if it's any good? I'll need something to fill in when both Prison Break and Lost are on hiatus. I might see if I can get hold of Day Break too.

Still at least I've still got Torchwood - don't know when you'll get it in the US but it's as good as Lost.

My wife and I watched an Episode of Fox's "BONES" last night and it was Marvelous! While Prision Break, Heroes, the Nine, and other shows are really petering out, I'm suprised this little watched Gem keeps getting better and better!

Chris Procter said...

Haven't heard of 'Bones', I'll have too look out for it. I don't know if it has come over hear yet, although it is getting better as we are now getting some stuff at the same time as it is on in the US. Or in the case of Babylon 5, we actually had that before the US.

Saying that I usually either download stuff or but the DVDs on Ebay, watch them and then resell them (often at a profit).

Anyway - LOST. What a cliff hanger... Will Sawyer and Kate escape? Will Ben survive? I'm sure this has been talked about a hell of a lot, but I just haven't read through all the comments!!! Maybe I should stop being so LAZY and do it!

Black Swan said...

good morning, all!

inenglandandlost... Wow!! I thought vets here in the US were expensive! Not sure of the US/UK money conversion, but sounds like abt $2000? Hope your little dog is OK now. I've thought of pet insurance, but haven't done it.

Chris Procter said...

It's $2740 give or take a few cents, hope your dog is ok now, I know we've been really glad of pet insurance in the past.

I don't think there has been a lot of discussion of Ben's chance of survival but I would reackon it's a certaintly firstly because otherwise it makes Jack a murderer and a real nasty piece of work if he does kill Ben and secondly because Michael Emerson is a serious regular and I would have thougt that if he was only going to be in 5 episodes thay would have made him a guest star instead.

InEnglandAndLost said...

Had pet insurance for 6 or 7 years for him, and just so glad of it as he's only 8! He's still got other things to come, so Will probably end up being £1600-£1700. It's really worth it. I'd recommend it.

It'll be close monitoring for the next few weeks. Something about Bile leaking into his abdomen... NICE!!! I've had him since I was 16 - He's like my son!

I hope Ben doesn't go... but it'll be interesting to see how the relationship between him and juliet pans out!

Chris Procter said...

I know what you mean about your dog being like you're son, I sometimes think only dog and cat ownres can really understand how attached people can become to their pets. They give you complete unconditional love and in my view in return they get my complete unswerving loyalty no matter what the cost.

I think the whole realtionship thing is going to be very important going forward. Juliet and Ben, Ben and Alex, Juliet and Ethan (were they married or brother and sister?), Kate and Sawyer, Sawyer and Pickett(for about 30 seconds), Tom and Goodwin (another other couple?).

Dennis said...

Good Morning Everybody!

I fast-forwarded through Day Break last night (I'll try to watch it this weekend) and watched the Lost preview.

BTW, it is also now available on the AMEX Exclusives site which they are now calling "The Lost Moments". Use 888-258-3741 to Login.

For those that missed it is only a 15 second clip. It is the scene of Charlie tackling Desmond that was shown in the fall finale preview. I won't say anymore about it than that, but it's interesting.

I think it is interesting that they are showing the clips online. I was planning on watching Day Break anyways, but now if I don't like it, I don't have to watch it anymore just to get the Lost clips.

I have emailed David (the Admin) to get an official ruling on opening up discussion about the previews. There's not really much to talk about. Over the next 12 weeks we will get a TOTAL of 3 minuets of clips. BUT, they are spoliers, so it could go either way.

Just kidding :) I didn't watch it, but I heard that Emmitt won. You're going to think I'm lying...but I have bowling on Wednesday nights until 11:30 pm. Yes, that means I haven't been watching Lost until midnight on Wednesdays. Gasp!!

BTW, I think that show is rigged. There's no way Emmitt get the exact same Judges score as Mario Lopez. I told my wife before the show on Tuesday, that Emmitt and Mario will get the same scores, and Emmittt will win based on votes. It's John O'Hurley and Stacy Keibler all over again - the best dancer doesn't win. I heard Mario was pissed. Maybe they'll have another dance off :)

Dennis: You're doing a great job monitoring everyone and jumping in there with helpful hints and steering people in the right direction. Poor Charlotte! Hope she feels better.

TCLM: Hope you're doing okay. My 85 year-old father-in-law might be starting chemo and radiation for bladder cancer soon. I don't know how he'll tolerate that.

ib4uc: I think Mario got gipped! He's such the better dancer! I could see he and Karena were really pissed! DANCE-OFF!

I know what you mean. I tried watching it but missed the first 10 minutes. So, I was kinda "lost" not seeing why they were after Diggs. But, it seemed interesting.

I thought Daybreak was going to be lame, but I ended up really liking it. It doesn't hurt that Taye Diggs is easy on the eyes (ahem!) but I think the most attractive aspect of Daybreak is that they are going to give us answers in only 13 weeks! At last, resolution!

And maven, your quilts really are beautiful. I wish you well with your new business.

Dark Angel, congrats on your official podcast segments! I love listening (to or reading) what you have to say.

Dennis and Steve, keep up the great work! I really look forward to your 'cast every week. Yay TLC!

Dennis and ib4uc: During TLE I was talking about getting "crafty" people to send me TLE-related blocks and I'd put it together for a "Lost Experience Quilt"...but, as usual, it was all talk! A LOST quilt is at the back of my mind! LOL

Thanks guys for your nice comments re my quilts!

Amused2bhere: I've got "Day Break" on dvr. I started watching it, but it seems very confusing (after LOST, is that possible). I'll give it fair try, though. I personally like "Medium", which was pretty good last night. Loved Monkeyheads! Had Javi written all over that!

I'd like to watch Medium since Javi is one of the writers, but I have a hard time supporting the "competition". Maybe if it moves to a different night.

During TLE I was talking about getting "crafty" people to send me TLE-related blocks and I'd put it together for a "Lost Experience Quilt"...but, as usual, it was all talk! A LOST quilt is at the back of my mind! LOL

Now that we all have more free time, maybe we could get that going again. I'm up for it.

Hi All. We need a Lost subject to talk about! Pick a theory out of the past, any theory.

'Daybreak' was OK, a bit confusing but OK. 'Jericho' is starting to finally work up some tempo and is OK as well. My new definition of OK is: interesting and has potential, but can't compare to Lost so far. I tried to watch 'Medium' during the first season and I liked it but but I find that her voice goes monotone too much for me. 'NCIS' is still my second favorite show after Lost (but I am tired of kooky Goth characters--been there, was that). Those and 'House' are the only other must-see-TV that I have now after Lost, since JAG "j***** the s****" a few years ago, long before it ended. Oh yes, Eureka is very amusing as well. Isn't 'Bones' the show with good old Angel the vampire? I forget his name, I need to try to catch that some time soon. Well, just babbling folks, cuz I missed you all today (took a road trip) and had to check in to read you before bedtime.

I would love to see 'Spamalot'!

BTW, Maven, you could do some small Lost projects, like station logos on pillows, or placemats, or coasters! I'll buy some! :o)

maven said...

Capcom: Good idea...but are LOST logos or Dharma symbols copyrighted? LOL

Hey Gang,

Don't forget to get your phone calls and mp3 comments into me this week. Answer some of the questions I put in the message board, add a theory, and tell me what you think of the podcast(be brutal, I can take it) 206-600-0952.

Also why not tell us what your watching on TV to get your through the lost hiatus. I've only recieved two calls this week and one of them was a pretty asty prank call. So come on what are you waiting for???

blueheron13 said...

Hello, folks.

I, too, have been lurking more than posting lately. But here are some thoughts:

As for spending time until Lost returns: I'll be checking out those unanswered questions and previous episode recaps on the DarkUFO blog. If I feel really ambitious, I might type up my own list of open-ended mysteries and keep it handy during future episode discussions. Plus, I'll do what I always do in December, which is watch as many college football bowl games as possible (side note: Go Blue! Beat OSU!).

I've also decided that I'll watch the Lost teasers that appear on Daybreak, but otherwise avoid most spoilers for the rest of the break.

To Goog, on the subject of head injuries: When the subject of your head wound came up on recent podcasts, I was reminded of what happened to me in late summer 2005. I was waiting to cross the street at an intersection here in downtown Detroit at lunchtime, when I receive a vicious blow to the center of my forehead, right about where my hairline is. The blood started pouring down my face. I never saw it coming, but it turned out that I had been struck by the pole-end of a heavy hot-dog stand umbrella that had been launched many feet into the air by a gust of wind. It came straight down on me, so I never saw it coming. It must have been an impressive sight. Anyway, the ambulance took me to the hospital to get stitched up. It wasn't funny at the time, but it's amusing to think about now. Has anyone else out there on the blog ever been hit by a flying hot-dog stand umbrella? Should I try to find a picture of one to create an avatar?

memphish said...

There's a new cast picture that ABC has put out. Here's a link to it: http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?&pos=-80407

Is it just me or do Ben and Juliet look like they've been added in after the fact? I think Juliet especially looks like she's been traced, cut out and stuck on. I do like how the two Others are on the outside.

And in other news, Matthew Fox is supposedly hosting Saturday Night Live on December 2nd.

Just popping in:

1) The Websense filter finally let me back in! Hooray! Now I can post on my breaks!

2) Was watching Season 1, and was reminded yet again that we still don't know (nor have we even really been given a clue) what their story is. We also don't know if Christian's body was ever on the plane.

3) What was Locke's secret to Walt?

4) Does anyone else miss the languid, emotional end sequences to Season 1 episodes, with "real" music as the backsone? Example: Joe Purdy's "Wash Away" at the end of episode 3.

FYSB said...

What's funny about that photo memphish is that Benry's right foot looks like it's floating. Gotta love photoshop.

And I for one would enjoy seeing a flying hot dog umbrella avatar.

As for my tv viewing during the hiatus, I'm enjoying Heroes (psst, Lost, they are answering questions during their episodes...might want to check it out). Also glad to see Medium is back. Probably won't watch Daybreak, I really got so incredibly annoyed by Groundhog Day. I do love the new Earl/Office/30 Rock lineup on Thursday.

Anonymous said...

Oops. Missed a key phrase. #2 above was talking about the Adam and Eve corpses in the cave.

Passafist said...

FYSB,

I'm going to have to argue with you on Heros. The thing I can't stand is that the only true compelling character is Hiro, and that here eight episodes in I can't quite understand who the bad guy is? Is it syler? is it man in the glasses? are they working together? Hero's is like LOST light, there are tons of questions, but no answers, and more importantly no mythology to play around with.

There are also too many Characters and since they're all kind of disjointed, it gets very confusing.

I still watch it, but I find with each viewing I like it less and less.

CattyGirl said...

Lets see.. Here is my TV viewing list:

Monday - Heroes
Tuesday - House and sometimes Miami Ink
Wednesday - Daybreak (for now)
Thursday - The Office

Memphish - I agree - I like that the others are on the outside in that picture. To add to that - Jack being the center and barefoot is interesting.

FYSB said...

Wow, passafist, didn't realize I would strike such a nerve. I don't know if I'd consider Heroes "Lost Light", it's just a fun comic book. And since we'll find out what Save the Cheerleader means next week, it is most definitely answering questions. To me it's a refreshing change from Lost, especially after what has been to me a very unsatisfying season.

Passafist said...

Sorry if I sounded forceful!!

I've watched it since the begining. I've heard everhbody rave about it.. and while it an okay program. It's not the show that everyone is raving about.

Besides am I the one one who thinks the tagline
"Save The Cheerleader,
Save The World"

Is just ridiclous?

The show just isn't fun enough, action packed enough, or good enough, to be more than a diversion.

Black Swan said...

Hey, everyone!!

Save the Cheerleader!! Save the World!! I don't get this phrase, since the cheerleader is indestructible?!? Yes, I've been watching Heroes, but I don't think it's anywhere near the caliber of Lost (I miss Lost!).

blueheron13, have you heard the news abt Bo Schembechler? The people at ch.7 news are especially upset. Can't believe the timing with the big game being tomorrow. Go Blue (but only when it's not U of M vs. MSU)!

Got an idea on how to pass the time during hiatus.. How about re-watching S1 & S2 with the perspective that someone is a mole? I was having my doubts about Kate and watched a few of S2 episodes. Haven't found anything spy-ish yet; the only thing I found was that she indeed seems to love Sawyer (guess I just wanted it to be Jack).

Has it been discussed that in the S3 mini-season finale (I do) the others said something to the effect that "this wasn't supposed to happen yet - it hasn't been 2 weeks". I'm guessing it has something to do with Kate's ovulation and it wasn't time for her to "get together" with Sawyer yet.

April and Eli said...

I like Heroes too, and I am tired of hearing that tagline on every other NBC commercial. LOST has at least never done that. The Today Show even had cheerleaders standing outside with the fans, and Al Roker said they were put there by NBC. Guess what all their poster boards said?

I agree that we need some discussion guidance, or else we'll talk about Heroes more than LOST. Podcast or Admin, please help!

[I propose starting with Walt, because we haven't seen him this season. Will he come back? Why and how? Does he have special powers, and if so, why did the Others let him go?]

memphish said...

Cattygirl, good catch on the barefoot. I didn't notice. I went back and looked and Jin has barefeet too. The rest of the shoes I can see are sandals except Ben's. Does this mean anything? Probably not.

As for topics, boy do we need one. I like the idea of Walt. Remember how at the end of Season 1 Walt told Locke "not to open it?" So was the hatch Pandora's box? It seems like TPTB could have gone that way, but didn't. After all Ben's Others had infiltrated both the Tailies and Fusies way before the hatch was discovered, much less opened. Don't know. That line was so ominous at the time, but I don't think they really did anything with it.

Anyone else have any Walt ideas?

maven said...

Hey, everyone!

Re: the long break from LOST...I hate to admit it, but I'm kinda looking forward to just relaxing and watching TV for pure entertainment. After TLE and these 6 episodes, I'm so tired of thinking! LOL

Here's what I'm enjoying (and not thinking about): Heroes, ER, Medium, Gilmore Girls, Studio 60, the Simpsons, Desparate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy. Really enjoying the NBC Thursday night comedies...Earl, The Office and 30 Rock. Alec Baldwin was hilarious yesterday! (Do I watch too much? My hubby thinks so!) Tried Daybreak...too confusing for me.

Anonymous said...

Any Beatles fans in the room? Anyone know the significance behind one of their members being barefoot on an album cover? There's a discussion topic for you.

Capcom said...

Hi All! Happy Friday.

Oh rats, Maven. Well TPTB/ABC does not have a copyrights on the Tao/I Ching design that is used around the station symbol. Sooooooo, maybe you could make that and people could request their own station symbol sillouette design? Kittys? Smokey? Charlotte? :o)

You're right JGZ, I got VERY interested when I saw A.D.Skinner on Daybreak! And I like Adam Baldwin since his "The Cape" days, and he was good as a bad guy on the Files. :-D Who else was there?

I hear ya FYSB, Groundhog Day didn't do much for me, so I'll see how far I can get with Daybreak.

I wonder if we'll see anything more about Walt at all, considering that he's proably about 20 years old by now. I really would not mind if they managed to find a boy that looked an awful lot like Walt, to play him as still little, just to get some story there with him and Michael. For SO many weeks there we had to sit there and watch Michael's tonsils wiggle while he continually screamed "Waaaaaaaaaaalt!", and now we don't get anything about them. Weird.

It looks like they copied Ben out of the "beach" photo. It is an exact match. Plus his shadow is way too light compared to everyone else's shadows.

My current TV Viewing list:
Monday: Prison Break, Bachelor, What About Brian
Tuesday: Nip Tuck
Wednesday: DayBreak, The Nine
Thursday: Survivor, My Name Is Earl, The Office, 30 Rock
Sunday: Amazing Race, Desperate Housewives

Dancing With The Stars and South Park just ended, and Six Degrees is on hiatus, but they would also be on the list. Yeah, I watch a lot of TV...but I have Tivo, so at least I don't have to commercials..

I just watched Day Break last night, and I really liked it. It's complex and interesting. I'm definitly going to keep watching.

Steve and I are goign to do a podcast set for release on Monday, after that we're taking the next weekend off because of Thanksgiving (and my Birthday on Friday) and depending on content! Which has been pretty slim, we'll probably do another podcast, we're thinking of doing a Jack Centric Episode, by watching the flashbacks to all the Jack Episodes and digger a little deeper into it.

You'll learn more in the next podcast!!! WORD!!!!

memphish said...

Happy Birthday David! That's my mom's birthday too.

Dennis, do you know when Six Degrees is supposed to be back? I've been bummed the last 2 weeks to pull up my Tivo and find something that's not Six Degrees.

The other shows that I've been watching included Amazing Race, Survivor, Ugly Betty (on abc.com) and Friday Night Lights. I really like Friday Night Lights, but then I grew up in a small town in Alabama where football was king. War Eagle! It's Iron Bowl weekend, Auburn/Alabama. For those of you not in the know, War Eagle means I pull for Auburn.

And finally, so sorry to see about Bo Schembechler. Kind of puts a damper on the big game. Go Blue!

Hi Guys,

Just checking in, had the day off work as my entire office in the back of a load of trucks heading North, so I have been offline as I have been enjoying time with the kids.

Just to say I will be off up to London tommorow and will be recording my bit for the podcast from a restaurant somewhere in Central London (probably covent Garden or Leicester Square - where all the movie premieres are). It's a bit of an experiment so I am not sure what the sound quality will be like and I am not sure that it will make much sense but hopefully it should be quite funny.

Glad to see that everyone is surviving without Lost!

Morning all!

I've been talking with tlcm about actually doing a LOST QUILT PROJECT! It would become an auction quilt and all proceeds would go to the Susan B. Komen Foundation for breast Cancer research. (Tclm just had another session of chemo, and will be out of commission until mid-week. Our thoughts are with her.) We were thinking that those interested in contributing could post a drawing or sketch or LOST-related block about 8"x8". Tclm could download any pics and transfer it into a block. I know how to print pics or drawings unto fabric. Tclm's mother is also a quilter, and would put the blocks together. For example: tall guy's drawings would be perfect! There's plenty of blocks right there already! All contributors would get acknowledged on the quilt label.

Anyway, this is just an idea to throw out there. If you're interested let us know!

Capcom said...

Oh......my........GOSH!!!!! I was in the worst of moods when checking the blog today, and the Fake Henry website just blew my selfish poopy mood away and made me laugh!

I also melted after reading Maven's and TLCM's idea for the Lost charity quilt! What a wonderful idea for us to work on. If someone (i.e., Me The Dweeb) doesn't know how to get the drawing online, would it be easy for someone to help with instructions? I could have done it if I still had access to all my computer things at work, but the computer I have access to now (not my own) does not have very much software for that on it, if any. Maybe I can get my brother-in-law to help too, he manipulates his photography online.

P.S. Tallguy, where do I fiind your Lost drawings on your blog site? I briefly looked around under the categories, but didn't see them. Tx.

Have a good evening Friends!

I have no idea. With all the holidays coming up, I would guess after the New Year! Once blocks are sent in, it doesn't take that long to put together. I imagine we'd want it done before the February restart of the show. It'll be interesting if this really takes off!

Vic

I'm don't think that Adam and Eve will ever be explicitly explained, ie that Adam and Eve and actually Frank and Cheryl Turbot from Sacremento who disappeared but I think we will learn that there has been a long sucession of people on the island; the four toed people, the survivors of the Black Rock, Dharma etc and we will realise that Adam and Eve tie in with this, they are nothing more than evidence that the Losties were not the first people on the Island and also a confirmation of the duality of th eIsland (remember the black and white stones found with Adam and Eve).

All right, here's something I just learned that will prove that Ethan is indeed evil.

Try as I might to avoid the ubiquitous and omnipresent TomKat nuptial news, I inadvertantly passed a tv showing Entertainment Tonight. The story was a pre-wedding dinner and the parade of guests. I was shocked to see Ethan as an attendee...turns out he is Tom Cruise's cousin.

Proof positive of his inherent evilness.
