personally i think i go against popular opinion, in thinking season 2 was better than season one. I'm still hoping this season seems better in retrospect.

Haven't listened yet, responding from last post...

Capcom- I was obviously practicing my flash sideways "letting go" when I was trying to post the other night and kept disappearing... I will now just be in the habit of showing up where I'm not expected, but yet expected ;-)

2c- I hope Richard is not dead- I toyed with that as it was only one hit and not the beating Eko took... but... we'll see!

What??? Footage only on the DVD but not on TV/in Finale? You must be kidding me. That's just crap. Truly crap if its true. I may very well buy the DVD, but I shouldn't HAVE to, to have the full experience.
Its almost worth not buying on principal. Times are tight for most folks... spending 50+$ for 20 unseen minutes is just low. I doubt those making $ off the DVDs are hurting badly enough to justify that... grrr.

And, if we're voting, I think I'm a "S3 was the best season" fan.... ;-)

I can't remember - which season was the one that was interrupted by the writer's strike? I liked the second half of that season the best. The writer's creative juices had been stewing for a while and when they came back from the strike - Wow! The show got really good again.

Rose and Bernard on Kimmel! They want to know what's going to happen to them. LOL

TheOtherLisa said...

I'm going to have to look up the Kimmel stuff retroactively one day...it is way past my bedtime! ;-)

TheOtherLisa said...

Happy First Lost Saturday! ;-)
Ok, I'm stretching it into whatever is left to celebrate... we KNOW the Pilot was an awesome ep, safe to pre-celebrate.

Am VERY curious to see what the pop-ups hold... obviously not "retroactive" info that ties things together from a previous episode.... which leaves????

Episode 81 is up now too...

Mother was protecting the light before she passed it to Jacob. I don’t think there was a smoke monster to protect it from in her reign. I don’t think there will be a smoke monster to protect it from in Jack’s reign. Mother said it needed to be protected from man, from people who wanted to take it. I think that’s why Mother destroyed the camp because MIB told her they had ideas on how to use the light.

I haven't read the NY Times article yet. Real life is bleeding oer into my LOST life. :) Too soon that won't be a problem anymore.

Anyway S1 and S2 were my favorites. S2 Ithink I like a little more. I like S3 I didn't hate it at all. S4 was probably my next favorite after S1 and S2. Season 5 annoyed me it was slow and repetitve and I didn't feel it told much new. I was better for me on dvd. I like S6 too I don't have any problems with it. At first I wasn't sure about the flash sideways but I'm cool with them now even if it ends up being the epilogue. uggg :)

Happy Saturday, LoCos. BEWARE, apparently a bunch of people have seen the finale, and spoilers are everywhere. Be very careful where and what you read.

SG- I think you are right about mother destroying the men MIB said had ideas about how to harness the light-- someone a few posts ago paralleled it to the purge of DI, made sense then, that perhaps, at least one of Ben's orders really did come from Jacob via Alpert (who i'm still hoping is alive!).

So the mission is to "kill" the smoke monster? Or perhaps, close him back up somehow in the light? Ex. Des takes him down into it and puts the lid on?

TheOtherLisa said...

Now.... wait one minute here... having a thought... speaking of the magic box. Perhaps In the Brig Cooper was the smoke monster...
or a permanently "traveling" due to brain injury by Locke in the plane crash version of Cooper? And the idea of Killing his father on the Island, is the moment of letting go for Locke? Could we see an awakening in FS cooper as Locke lets go? and... Sawyer gets answers? Wasn't one of you postulating that to have a fully realized/good FS you had to die on the island?

What if it's not that they have to kill Smokey, but return him to the light and it sets him free from the smoke form, allowing him to "die" finally.

And what if Jack's exwife, David's mom, turns out to be Juliet? I mean, they were almost an item on the Island, so it's not far-fetched. Not like Ben/Danielle (which I definitely did NOT see coming!) I'm still looking for the Sawyer/Juliet coffee date to happen.

I really want a Charlotte/Faraday meeting, but if it doesn't happen I won't sulk.

And the real wild card in all this is Desmond. Oh please oh please let him and Penny end up happy ever after. Please?

Could happen.

TheOtherLisa said...

Amused... I didn't see Ben/Danielle coming either, not sure I love it, but its an ending that I can be satisfied with ;-)

Juliette as David's mom... I kinda hope not, but again, it would be an ending I'd be satisfied with.

I'd be ok to let Charolotte and Daniel go, but I'm betting we see it happen somehow.

Sadly, I have no idea how Sawyer would have time for coffee right now, or Des... who, wasn't he supposed to be going there anyway... ??? Or, maybe Juliette was referencing what she saw for Pen and Des...???

But, I bet we see everyone back in the finale...from Boone and Shannon, to Nikki and Paulo... all at the concert at least in the crowd or at the airport. I am completely unspoiled as to title, cast list, etc... but that's my guess... (um, hope, maybe?)

Beverly said...

I'm confused. Hasn't it been a week since the flight? How many days has it been since Charlie drove the car off into the water and "woke up" Desmond? Wasn't the concert supposed to be that night? The same night that FS Des met Penny at the stadium and was supposed to meet her for coffee?

And wouldn't it take a while for Locke to heal after the surgery he had after being hit by Des?

Is time even more messed up in the FS than it is on the island?

Fenris said...

Hi all. I finally did a Bullet Point post for this season. Better late then never!

Bullet Points

TheOtherLisa said...

Lost it...good questions. I have no answers-- but your questions seem like the logical timelines to me....??? It all hinges on that concert, and going back to see what time Des actually had to get Charlie there.

Amy Lynn said...

Just listening to GJB... interesting that Claire was supposed to be in this episode in two timelines, and the island scene was cut.

Beverly said...

TOL, how is it logical when Desmond was supposed to bring Charlie to the concert the day the plane landed (Eloise was there making final prepartions, the tables were set and everything). Then at least a week has gone by (with enough time for Des to elighten Hurley, run over Locke, for Locke to heal after his accident, Sawyer to slepp with and the piss off Charlotte, etc) and now they're all going to the concert that was supposed to have happened a week ago?

Maybe it's a different concert?

Tess315 said...

Hey Fenris
Thanks, I'll go read it now. I always like your bullet points.

Lost it... ahhh... you are right, since we saw Eloise setting tables, Des seems to have done a boatload of stuff....not sure how that jives??

i think smokey has existed longer than mother, because there were Egyptian glyphs depicting smokey in the catacombs and smokey was said to be the guardian of the temple, with a way to summon him under what one day would become the barracks. MIb merging with the smoke was a whole new entity in a way. I bet the smoke was at the disposal of the island guardian before mib took over. That's how mother destroyed the village and filled the well all while mib was passed out. I think smokey was still limitedly controlled by jacob even as mib, he has to follow rules. I think the whole scanning thing is a function of smokey and his guardian role. mother was not smokey because she had a corporeal corse when killed.

I think the smoke was dispathed by he light when an interloper(mib) breached it. I think thats why the light seemed to harden over with stone as well. It just so happened that mib was special and lived long enpough that something screwy merged him with the smoke.

2costa said...

jacob was born in 23 ad, so mother's reign was after Egyptian times, hence smokey older than mother, unless she ruled for thousand of years, but that still means smokey existed before mib

Amy Lynn said...

@2costa, they purposefully removed 23 A.D. from the script.
