Happy B-day Brianne! *<:o)
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday Brianne!
Who's next? LOL
Only 10 weeks and 2 hours to new LOST!!!!!!
Well I was over on DarkUFO and tonite they posted a picture from the ABC website (I think)- see it here:
mysterious pic
Turns out it's just an advertisement for some LOST action figures or something that is coming out next week. But still I wonder if the picture itself may be significant, even if the writing is just an ad? Guess we're desperate for anything!
oh wow step out for a few months and just look what happens!! boy did I miss you guys!
I'm glad to see some discussion continuing on this blog.
happy belated birthday Capcom
Congrats TBP on your upcoming wedding
Congrats to Maven for the mah jongg win!
and yowza to us for the return of LOST!!!!
just checking in...
Hey everyone
DarkUFO just posted that there will be a Lost promo during Grey's Anatomy. (Nov 20)It will feature the music of Fray "You Found Me".
Viewers will be directed to ABC.com, where they can find a three-minute version of the clip as well as a link to iTunes; there they can buy the single, which goes to radio the next day.
I DVR Grey's...so I'll be looking for that new song and promo!
BTW: Fire again in my area! Woke up to police sirens telling us there was a Mandatory Evacuation AGAIN! But we're staying put for now (got meds, clothes and cats ready to go). Fire is about 1 mile+ away (in Granada Hills), but between us and the fire everything was burned from the last fire. We feel there would be no fuel around us. But smoke looks ominous across the canyon! (This is being called the Sylmar/Sayre fire.)
Oh Maven!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you...I used to live on the west coast and I feel for you. I miss the beautiful place that CA is, but I don't miss the fires and earthquakes!
It's good that you are prepared to evacuate (don't forget the LOST quilt! *giggle*). I'm sorry, I know this is nothing to smile about, but please know we are all hoping the best for you and your family!
xxoo
Stay safe Maven!
I think I'm going to avoid that 3 minute trailer in particular. I assume it's made by the ABC promo people and 3 minutes worth of stuff makes me wary. I fear it could be another reveal of Cindy before Stranger in a Strange Land aired.
I was thinking about the earlier trailer though with the plane and the hatch, and I wonder if that means the submarine won't be blown up now. Maybe that's how Locke/Bentham gets off the Island.
maven
Hope you stay safe. I wasn't sure if this latest fire was near you or not.
I don't watch Grey's Anatomy but I probably will record it this time to see the promo and not have to wait for it to be online. I hope they show us some new stuff. I get excited whenever I hear anything about Lost.
memphish
That's a very good thought about the sub still being there now that the island has gone back in time. (I presume it has anyway).
I still think we are going to see Danielle's story live versus a flash back. Because the island has gone back int time. We'll see. I think this season is going to be very interesting. I can hardly contain myself. lol
Yeah Sayid's Girl -- that will be the big question about going back in time won't it. Will it just be things that are restored or lives too?
Still staying put...smokey, but see no flames.
One would think that those left behind do go back in time, that things would to...like the sub and the Flame station. Maybe they can communicate with the outside world again?
So we're now thinking that 'the hostiles' ARE the survivors of Flight 815? That's why they're all shabby and live in the jungle while the DI are all modern?
I was thinking the other day how ironic it would be if the list they think of as Jacob's List was actually made out by our left behind losties. It would make perfect sense to me that Sawyer and Locke wouldn't put Jack Shepard on a list of good people.
Maven, and all you folks on the West Coast, please be careful.
I am really looking forward to this season. It may even be more puzzling than last year though.
At least until TPTB start connecting the dots from previous seasons.
Hey, Takes A Village...Happy Birthday tomorrow!
I like that list notion Lost2010. Pretty funny.
But Locke has always attempted to convince Jack that the Island is in fact where he should be, i.e. his destiny. So I think he would put him on the list.
I'm more of a fan of the idea that Christian Shephard is writing the list and not putting Jack on it so that he can get the heck out of dodge. But I can't figure out why Christian would work to get Jack and Aaron off the Island, but not Claire. Maybe he made a deal with the Island that Claire would stay if the other 2 went.
So you think Christian is working against 'the island'? The island seemed to want Jack to stay since it made him sick when he was trying to leave.
Yeah, that's sort of my theory -- Christian is working against the Island. He's ousted Jacob from the cabin and he's had Ben move the Island so Jack can't find it again. Now how he knew Jack would get off, I don't know. Maybe he got that from Jacob who failed to put Jack on the list.
Oh ya'll. This perked my ears up yesterday. I was sitting in a crowded room and there are all these conversations going on around me.
Anyway, there are 2 ladies talking that are pretty loud - you can hear them quite clearly. I was reading a book and wasn't really following the conversation.
But all of a sudden one of them says, now what are your boys' names again?
And the other answers,
"Jackson and Sawyer."
If she's not a fan, that's a phenomenal coincidence.
Prayers for you and CA fro rain Maven! :-o
Lost2010 said: "It would make perfect sense to me that Sawyer and Locke wouldn't put Jack Shepard on a list of good people."...LOL times infinity! X-D
I like your theory too Memphish.
Thanks Amused!
lost2010
I never thought of the Losties being the hostiles but I guess it could be possible. Interesting thought.
And you're right it would be like Locke and Sawyer not to put Jack on a list. If they were the ones making it.
memphish
I like your theory.
I'm not sure who's making the lists Jacob or someone else. I'm not sure who Jacob is or if he's been ousted.I haven't given much thought to that lately since the time travel story line.
Are Christian and Jacob the same person or different people? And what is the meaning of the lists? Are they people worthy of redemption? If so does that mean Jack can't be redeemed? Is that why he has to go back? But why would he have to bring everyone back?
Happy Birthday Takes a Village!
Happy Birthday!! Takes a village!!
Happy Birthday, Takes A Village. Enjoy it with your family!
Going back in time certainly would put an interesting spin on who is making the lists! Locke seems like the perfect candidate. Wasn't there a lot of speculation that Jacob was an older Locke in the brief shots we saw of "him"?
Happy Birthday Village!! *<:o)
Thanks all for the Birthday wishes.
I am seizing the day.
Next Sunday Mrs Village and I plan to visit our Daughter & family for Thanksgiving week.
An interesting quote (Wikipedia)from Jeremy Bentham "Take me forward, I entreat you, to the future – do not let me go back to the past." He also liked to play chess.
Happy birthday!
Happy belated birthday, Takes a Village! Boy, I always seem to be a day late on these!
Here's an article from Ain't it Cool News with some Lost tidbits. The only "spoiler" is some casting info along the lines of "this actor will be in next season." Nothing major.
OT (if there is a topic?): My writer friend, Ken Levine, wrote a very lovely post about my father being his First Mentor! He was just my Dad, but I've come to realize how important he was to the early history of television.
Oh, that's really nice Maven! I know what you mean, one of my Dad's collegues wrote a little something about him and to say goodbye on the Nuke-Workers forum and it meant a lot to me too. :-(
Hi, all there has been an update to the Dharma Wants You site, and a new email sent out.
Quite odd really, but it says that the DI has been sold to the creators of Lost !
Thanks for the heads-up Zort! :-D
Happy belated Brianne & Takes a village.
Just had a crazy thought. I'm watching Season 2 right now, and am in the midst of the otherwise-disappointing "Fire + Water." Charlie just told Eko about how he's sleepwalking and kidnapping babies. Does the kidnapping babies part sound familiar? What if he was tapping into something about the Island that made baby hoarding/protection such a drive for the Others/Hostiles? What if the Island is telling the O/H's that they need to gather children to save themselves in some way?
That, and the whole "you can't save your family if you don't play" bit (see: security code in the Looking Glass) makes me think this episode was more important than we give it credit for.
Kyle - I just rewatched this episode recently as well, and I wondered if we ever got a reason as to why it was so important that Aaron be baptized?
That's interesting about Charlie tapping into a need to protect children.
I wonder - was Charlie supposed to "save" Aaron by keeping him on the island? Or getting him off the island?
(just gonna keep on reliving S2)
Man, the interrogation scene where Sayid asks about Ben burying his wife is so friggin' good. It gets better in hindsight with each passing season.
We just watched SOS last night, where Locke bangs on the door to the armory and demands to know whether "Henry" pushed the buton or not. The smile on Ben's face is just priceless!
Here's something else that I noticed: in Lockdown, when the alarm starts going and the lights flicker and then the blast doors come down, Ben looks seriously freaked out. He's in the armory alone, so there's no reason for him to put on this act (other than the audience doesn't know for sure at this point that he's a fake).
So, was Ben actually panicking there for a second? He recovers quickly, to suggest that Locke should "go get Jack," but he does have a moment where he looks a little terrified.
Here's another thing I was thinking. Did Ben think that zeroing out the counter in the Swan would lead to the same effect as turning the Frozen Donkey Wheel? Did he enter the numbers, but lead Locke to believe he didn't, so Locke would let it zero out AFTER Ben was out of the station? That way, Ben wouldn't have to get ejected by the Island for turning the Wheel?
That has always been my theory - Ben wanted whatever would happen when the button wasn't pushed to happen, he just didn't want to be there when it did. I can't think of any other reason for what he tells Locke.
I think the variable he didn't count on was Desmond and the fail safe key.
Which is exactly why I wonder about the interoperability of the DHARMA operation. How could Ben not have known about either Desmond, the key, or both, if he was IN DHARMA? Plus, having full access to the Pearl post-DHARMA!
My three questions to TPTB via the ARG:
1) Will we ever know if the parapsychological phenomena in LOST were legit or just red herrings? The whispers, the psychics on the mainland, the visions of Dads and Walts and horses and Daves... I'm not asking for the actual meaning or explanation right now, I just want to know if we'll EVER get the explanation, or if they'll all turn up to be like Nathan and his prodigious bathroom breaks.
2) Did Ben think that zeroing out the counter in the Swan would lead to the same result as turning the frozen donkey wheel? The logic would be that he entered the Numbers during lockdown, but caused Locke to think he didn't. This way, Locke would at some point (AFTER Ben had escaped the Swan) not enter the Numbers, causing the Swan to go boom, and (by Ben's reasoning) cause the Island to duck out of its current spacetime location.
3) What was the knowledge of various DHARMA operatives of the full DHARMA operation? Did Swan ops know about the Looking Glass? Did the minor peons know about the Tempest? How was it that Roger came to have a Swan jumpsuit, while Ben's knowledge of the Swan's operation seems to be incomplete, and perhaps even erroneous?
Happy Birthday Diggitydirge!
Happy Birthday to Diggitydirge!
Happy birthday Diggity!! *<|:o)
Very interesting thought about Charlie and the babies Kyle! Yes, what WAS the deal with all that frantic action on Charlie's part?!
Great points about the Swan and the button and Ben too. That helps resolve some things in my head if I think about it that way. Even if we don't get an answer to that (which I don't think that we will) I'm going to pretend that that's the answer for my own sanity. :-p
Heheh, you asked about 20 questions in your 3 questions. :o)
I tried to ask umbrella questions. Think they'll catch on? ; )
Hopefully not! X-D
kyle - perfect questions! Exactly what I want to know! Plus, that comment about Nathan's bathroom breaks made me giggle. :)
Rewatching season two, a few things occured to me about Ben's time in the hatch:
1) Ben gets caught on purpose. Kate mentions later that Rousseau's traps are too simple for the Others, and she's right. Locke also makes the comment to Ben that his people have been on the island for "god knows how long" and he just happened to get caught in a net? Plus, Ben's wearing his J Crew clothes, not the rags he dons after his release, so he's trying to conceal the fact that he's an Other from the get-go.
2) Ben deliberately goads Locke into not pushing the button. There's no other reason for him to push it (which he obviously did - we see later what happens when you don't), and then tell Locke that he didn't.
3) Ben may or may not be there for Locke. He claims later (and I think Ms. Klugh and Tom discuss this as well) that he was not happy about the deal that was made - Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley for Ben. If he's not happy about it, that wasn't his original intention. So what was?
4) Ben may or may not have known about Desmond. We find out in season three that he didn't know about the sailboat. If he's so concerned about keeping the island hidden, he couldn't have known that the failsafe key would make the island visible (or at least, he didn't know that Des had the key). We know that Ben and Juliet checked out the Swan from the Pearl when the Losties were there, but we don't know if they were paying much attention before that.
I think that Desmond is going to turn out to be a force that Ben underestimated from the beginning.
I think that Desmond is going to turn out to be a force that Ben underestimated from the beginning.
The prospect of THAT particular showdown gives me the heebie jeebies of excitement, it's so friggin' cool.
I think a Ben/Desmond showdown is on the horizon! Here's why (I'm all about the lists today):
1) Ben and Des have NEVER had a scene together (except maybe standing in the same location when everybody met at the wreckage in the jungle this season). They've never spoken.
2) Desmond and Penny are now out in the real world, probably with close to unlimited resources (I'm going by the crazy expensive rescue mission Penny's been on these last few months, if not years). Sure, Desmond's happy to be off the island, but you know that survivor's guilt is going to kick in eventually.
3) Ben wants to kill Penny, and he's going to have to go through Desmond first!
4) Widmore's wrapped up in this somehow, and Des and Penny are going to have to choose a side.
5) Course corrections may need to be made.
However it plays out, I agree: it will be AWESOME.
Happy Birthday Diggitydirge!!
Just seen the promo with the Fray. It didn't seem to be a minute long but I could be wrong. It has a few new scenes in it. It was part promo part music video.
I'm posting this here and at the ARG blog. I never know where anyone will be.
The 3 minute one is up at ABC now. I think it pretty awesome. But it keeps stopping off and on probably alot of traffic.
BTW Those spoiler sensitive may not want to watch the one at ABC.
But it just made me more excited for the season to start.
Sorry for so many posts. But I noticed something flash in the promo and took a screen cap. I'm not sure what it means though. I'll keep it to myself.
"Lost" seems like an impossible concept.Anyone can feel basking out here.I am an great fan of tis show since one year and its been always hitch me to watch it regularly.Really an terrific one!!! Catch it Watch Lost Free here...
SPAM
Fer shurr. Maybe an admin can delete it soon.
Can you say what you're thinking without actually revealing it Saydisgirl? I'm curious. Maybe by doing the "spoiler-blanklines-spoiler" thingy? :o)
Nevermind, got it over at theh ARG blog. Thx! :-D
DarkUFO all wonky? Or is it just my browser at work?
Should we be discussing the new promo here instead of at lostargs? Maybe a post should be made warning of possible spoiler talk?
Just to let you know: I emailed the lostargs admins suggesting that Ajira be discussed over there and the ABC promo discussed over here at TLC.
Belated Birthday greetings to Diggitydirge.
That was such a good promo. So many things to see and talk about.
Here's Dennis' reply:
"LostARGs is for talking about the ARG, and TLC is for talking about the show.
I put a post on TLC for the Lost Season 5 Promos, where people can talk freely about it in that post only.
Dennis"
So I guess this is where we talk about the promo! LOL
OK, I created a post to talk about new music video. So...
NEW POST!!!!
