Uh-oh, a megastorm is ripping through TN again. You OK Memphish? I tied everything down here.

Just run the episode, and say that the extra hour was due to "Island time differential."

Happy Birthdays to JGZ350 & lil ms broogs.

David Cook could have written "They need you" and that would have worked too.
I'm still afraid of spoilers. It's like being a little bit pregnant.
It would be great though if you could just delete a spoiler, then it would be like it never happened.
Or as one of us said they wish their eyes could un-see it.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Okay, capcom - you weren't fast enough to stop me, so I read the whole thing. :)

An edited version is now up at Spoilerfixed, complete with two of the four photos. Enjoy!

Love all the Quantum Leap talk, one of my favourites. It was a very interesting to see Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell work together on Enterprise as well.

Does anyone think that if the end of series 4 has lots of payoff, that there will be little left to go around for the other two promised series ?

I wouldn't like lost to loose all the mystery !

Zort70 said...

I've just read my post above and realised that I've spent most of the last few years going "What the %$*& is going on", I must be enjoying the mental anguish from TPTB :-)

Amused2bHere said...

I agree with Cap and Ded...bust the budget, extend the season by an extra week!

Thanks for throwing yourself on that spoiler grenade for us, Capcom. Above and beyond, honey, truly brave you are.

LOL Maven, when we saw David Cook's hand on Idol I turned to my husband and said "Not Penny's Boat?" That would have been so funny if he'd written that...I wonder if any of the judges would have understood what it meant...or the audience for that matter. But it was a LOL moment anyway!

Only 13 days to Lost

I'm fine after driving through massive rain storms down I-55 to my sister's in Louisiana. Thanks for spoiler fixing ML. I'll look forward to checking it out.

Capcom said...

No prob Amused! Like I said, I'm into baby-spoilers now, frustration has made me not-so-purist anymore. :-} I accidently found out about Aaron and Kate before it happened, and it wasn't so bad. But I wouldn't want to find out a mega-biggie like that one again!

Glad you're OK Memphish.

Zort, TPTB are so backed up with mysteries, I think that there's still more "danger" of leaving some of them unsolved. Not to mention all the NEW questions that they are going to throw out by the end of this season! :-p

Wow, I didn't know that Stockwell appeared in Enterprise. I'll have to watch for that one on the reruns. That's cool.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Stockwell is also on Battlestar Galactica, I believe.

Everybody be careful with the crazy weather this weekend! I think we're under a tornado watch here. Yikes!

Thanks for all those BLEEPS, Capcom!

BIG NEWS:

It's official: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Steve McPherson has signed off on Lost's extra-special 14th hour this season, which means Lost is getting a three-hour finale! The first hour airs May 15, the second and third hours will air May 29. (In between, on Thursday, May 22, Ugly Betty has an hour finale and Grey's Anatomy airs a two-hour season finale of its own.)

Word is that there are so many big reveals that the producers wanted to deliver this season, that they felt like anything less than a full three-hour finale would have cheated the fans. In fact, I'm hearing that writers' draft of the second half of the finale was 80 pages long, which led all parties involved to realize these stories had to be told now. Anything else would be a ripoff.

So, ABC made it happen, with the help of Shonda Rhimes and Grey's Anatomy, who agreed to a two-hour finale on May 22. And bless McPherson and friends for taking the risk of letting the Lost finale air on May 29—that's after the end of the critical ratings sweeps period. If you're a Lost fan, but don't usually watch Grey's you might consider doing Team Alphabet a solid and just tuning your TV to their channel for the GA finale that night!

Needless to say, this news rocks. Post your excitement below.

BIG NEWS PART 2:

A recent article in Variety mentions that Lindelof and Cuse are working on the next ARG:

"Lindelof and Cuse are already busy plotting the off-season interactive campaign for season five of "Lost." But they also employ a brand manager to handle at least 30 different outgrowths of the show, including mobile games and player platform games to more obscure licensing."

As for whether or not THIS round of extra curricular Lost fun will have any impact on the mythology of the show, well, we should know the answer by now:

"Our criteria is, everything you need to know about 'Lost' is contained in the mother ship," Cuse says. "There are definitely large segments of the audience that want more. And the ancillary media platforms give us opportunities to put out stories that might be interesting to some but not all."

More at Variety.

Capcom said...

Awesome Maven! Methinks that the word "ripoff" may have prompted horrible visions in the execs heads of outraged fans storming the network offices. They know now that hell hath no fury like a LOST fan. :-)

Fun news about the ARG too. Wow, TPTB love us...they really love us! I personally feel that the things that we learned about Hanso and DHARMA during TLE just gave an incredible amount of creepy depth to the show, for my viewing pleasure. Although I sometimes have trouble leaving those parts out when I am trying to explain the show itself to someone who asks. It all works well for me tho.

Capcom said...

P.S. Did you all hear about the new series on SciFi channel tonight? It's about Sarah Jane, Dr.Who's long lost sidekick. I'm going to check it out to see how it is. I think it's called 'The Sarah Jane Chronicles', or something like that. I'm still waiting for Torchwood to get to SciFi channel. :-(

I must be really spoiler-hardened or really inattentive. I scanned that article in my new EW and didn't see anything I'd have called a spoiler except one thing close to the end. I guess it was the same article - I didn't pay attention to who wrote it but the opening line was the same. I guess I better not read it any closer if I missed the spoilers the first time round.

Capcom said...

I think that we are all getting anxious for more info Lost2010, I know that I am...and I'm getting weaker about not looking at spoilers every day. :-o

The New HF Website

Under Executive Bios, if you page to the second screen of bios, you must have a login, and the pics/names look like some of the new characters coming.

I think Ben is part of Hanso...

Did everyone see that DocArzt is selling a Sawyer figure, signed by Josh Holloway, on eBay?

Only 2 days left, get it while it's there. Bidding is up to $155, and you must have a Paypal account.

Apparently, Doc needs the money.

it seems like some stuff is a little differnt then two years ago, but as i have dsaid before i think ben is definetly working for hanso
1. both his and mikes passports said HNSO on them
2. harper had a hanso certificate
3. alvar hanso might have been mikes bunkmate
4. it says someones cancer was cured on the hanso site like julliettes sister/how could ben do that without hanso support
5. perhaps it is why mike healed so fast from crash
6. Ben has to be getting money and resources somewhere

2costa said...

ya just a mirror nothing has changed

Joseph Finchum said...

I think that it is a stretch to assume the Hanso site has anything to do with the show. They have made it abbundantly clear that the ARG #1 ties into the show very little.

P.S. Did you all hear about the new series on SciFi channel tonight? It's about Sarah Jane, Dr.Who's long lost sidekick.

I've seen it here in the UK and although it is aimed at the younger audience it is actually very watchable.

This isn't the first spinoff with Sarah Jane, the first pilot for a spin off in the 80's was not really well received, but I'm glad they gave her another outing.

Just quick story about Elizabeth Sladen who plays SJ, we went to a Doctor Who exhibition about 10 years ago where she was there with K9 and the actor who provides the voice of K9. They were giving people with dogs the opportunity to have a photo with the three of them, part of a sponsorship deal with a dog food manufacturer. However my camera had broken that day, but I still wanted meet her and John Leeson, so I went and posed with everyone and got my wife to pretend to take a picture. It was quite a surreal moment, but I'm glad I did it !

ABC has added an hour to this season of LOST! The finale will now run three hours, split up over two episodes that will air (HOLD YOUR BREATH) two weeks apart.

The sweetest cut cuts the deepest, right?

Unknown said...

And wow, did I mangle that quotation. It's actually "the first cut is the deepest," but it was tangled in my brain. Anyway, you get the jist.

Capcom said...

Right about the first Sarah Jane Zort! I recently watched one of those on vid, I think that it was the Christmas one with the cult in the greenhouse, or something like that. :-) Maybe it was the pilot, because if I recall correctly, she was just receiving K-9 in a mysterious package. Good stuff. Yes, it's amazing to be given a second shot at an artistic endeavor in that way as an actor! Funny convention story too.

Nice avi graphics Ded! I like the pilot's tag w/ callsign. :-) What is written on the nose in between the rescue tag and the DI symbol, and the tiny tags by the cockpit and on the tail and engine nacelle? Is it LOST-y or Gallactic-y? :o)

2costa said...

find815 wasnt all canon, but the hanso site and all the tle stuff was all tied into the show, like the helgus antonius, and last season how mr paik was talking about a shipment to the hanso foundation

Hi Everyone!

I'm running a contest and giving away 3 Cloverfield DVDs on CloverfieldClues.com if anyone is interested. Check out the website for full details, but I've come up with a couple of fun contests - there is a caption contest, and clue hunt!

Capcom said...

FWIW, here's a cool page about a BSG model kit -- great pix: http://www.squaremodels.netfirms.com/viper2.htm

I agree 2costa, didn't TPTB say that TLE was just not at all necessary to watching the show, and that not every piece of it would be represented or explained in the show? But a lot of it is such as; Hanso, the DI, the numbers, the transmission, and the island itself for that matter, etc. The Sri Lanka film basically spells out what was happening on the island pre-crash and pre-Ben. But I don't think that we'll be seeing any of the execs from the site on the show. Although, it would be tres-cool if Libby (or her evil twin) was the missing woman in the exec page like some have wondered! :-D

Capcom said...

Aw Dennis, you're so fun, and nice! And tx for the reminder to check out your site, I'd forgotten to look at it so far this month.

Capcom said...

BTW, have we passed the tsumani date on the show yet? Kyle, was it you who had this figured out for us? Someone had it pegged down. Tx.

Unknown said...

capcom: Yeah, they winked at us. TPTB honored the tsunami date by introducing us to a new station with a giant wave as its DHARMA logo. Scientifically, I'm bitter, but thematically, I'm satisfied.

Dennis said...

BTW, 10 more days until a new LOST!!!!

Capcom said...

Tx Kyle! :-)

Tess315 said...

I haven't been on dennis' Cloverfield site since the movie came out. I was't sure what I might come across since I haven't seen it yet. I rarely get a chance to go to the movies. But I am patiently waiting for it to come out on dvd next week. I can't believe I haven't been spoiled on it yet.

I'm hoping this week's LOST re-runs are enhanced. And hurry up next Thursday!!

Tess315 said...

I wonder what the new ARG will be about? The first TLE was the back story of the D.I.
Maybe we'll get the back story of the Original Others/Hostiles. With Charlotte being on the island I'm thinking she's the one who will probably introduce us to the people of the four toed statue.
Or it may be about Ben and what he's up to off island.

2costa said...

well with sam having unanswered questions im betting the arg will feature sam thomas

Capcom said...

It does seem as if TPTB set it up for that with Sam's final notes on distrust and not letting go, 2costa. I hope that they also get all evil-empire again like in TLE tho, too. Like giving us some ideas of the mega-machinations of Widmore and Paik.

Tess315 said...

Good point 2costa
They may pick up where Sam's story left off.

maven said...

I got my "Lost Mind Games" book prize today from the contest David and the TLC Podcast put on. It came autographed from the the author! Thanks again!

Dennis: I entered the "lazy" way and just emailed you for a DVD of "Cloverfield". Probably one of thousands! LOL

I hope the ARG II will continue with the Mittelwerk story. But I'd also like some background on the original inhabitants of the island, too! I know that TPTB insist that these "outside" activities are not canon and are for the hardcore fans. There are many LOST fans out there that do not go on-line for the show, so they can't make extra stuff canon. But we all know how much more these things add to the LOST mythology!

Joseph Finchum said...

Capcaom,

It is all (I Guess) Galactica-y. It is the stuff that is actually written on the Vipers.

Danger (near Cockpit), Caution - Do not stand in front of cannons (with the dotted lines), Beware of Blast (near the tail),blah, blah, blah.

The middle text is actually not text, because I couldn't find a pick where it was readable...lol

The Cockpit callsign is Captain Mikhail Bukunin aka "Patchy"

I have another one on the MB with an Oceanic theme (in white, Blue and pinkish/purple)).
Tail Number US 815, Captain Seth Norris AKA "Monster Food"

On a side note I watched the Samantha Who with Kylie (Nikki) and was actually made angry by a prt of the show. I forget her name, but when the chubby girl said she wanted to do the art school thing with the Turtle, and the mom said it was all a scam... she was dead on.
I did that and the way it is set up is that you finish paying for it about half way through the program. The minute my last check cleared... I stopped recieveing materials and assignments, and when I called them they would not return calls or put a live person on the phone.

They really do only want your money. The only thing they got wrong... is everyone does get in... lol

Capcom said...

Thanks Ded, I was just wondering if you put some more funny LOST stuff on there like the Patchy callsign. It all looks great. That's funny about the middle text. :-)

No way, the art instruction thingy is a scam???? They use Charles Schultz as a reference! Wow, I was thinking about doing that, but I didn't like how you can't get any info without making an appointment for some salesdork to contact you. Just mail me an info package, dammitt. Well, I'm sorry that you went through that, did you tell your state attorney general and the BBB about them? Yeah, you're not kidding anyone can get in, I was drawing exact copies of those pics they put in magazines when I was a kid. No challenge there. :o)

FYI in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, the second part of the EW/Jensen vid on the LOST set is here:

http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1137819692?bclid=1155151521&bctid=1493304520

Spoilers: Only in the last 10 secs just after after Jorge stops talking about Hurley and Jack, does he mention something that they are about to shoot. When it's finished, it immediately starts into the part one video that Jensen posted last week (that has some spoilers).

maven said...

Thanks for posting that link, Capcom. So glad some of you take the spoiler hits for the rest of us! I don't think I'm going to watch Part I, though!

lost2010 said...

Tom Friendly was on Bones last night. He played this kind of sleazy (hmmm, how do you spell sleazy????) lawyer. Watching it, I was thinking that HE should have played Kate's lawyer. You just really got the idea that he was about to get the murderer off - and that's not even a spoiler because he kept showing up to represent every single suspect. LOL

maven said...

I took a chance and watched Part III of Doc Jensen's video diary. It was with Daniel Dae Kim. I don't feel it was spoilery at all.

maven said...

I guess everyone is standing in line at the Post Office to mail in their tax returns! It's quite here today!

Thanks for the info about Part 3 Maven. Those vids are fun, I wish that someone would do them on a regular basis.

CattyGirl said...

From slashfilm.com, Daniel Dae Kim is going to show up on A&E May 26th and May 27th in The Andromeda Strain. Copied from the site:

Yes, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott produced another remake/re-adaptation of the The Andromeda Strain, but this time in television miniseries form, and we have the first look trailer for this “two-night television event.”

Based on the bestselling book from Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park), and from executive producers Ridley Scott and Tony Scott comes a four-hour miniseries adaptation of The Andromeda Strain. The story follows a team of scientists investigating a deadly disease from an alien world that threatens to destroy mankind. Directed by two-time Academy Award® nominee Mikael Saloman (Cinematographer on Backdraft, The Abyss), and featuring a cast which includes: Benjamin Bratt (“Law & Order”), Christa Miller (“Scrubs”), Eric McCormack (“Will & Grace”), Ricky Schroder (“NYPD Blue”), Andrew Braugher (“Homicide: Life on the Streets”), Christa Miller (“Scrubs”), Daniel Dae Kim (“Lost”), and Viola Davis (“Traveler”).

Sweet Cattygirl! I loved that movie. But I guess it would be good to update it, and the cast looks great.
