«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 326 of 326Just heard on the news that the writers strike continues. They couldn't come to an agreement and no new talks are scheduled.
Sayid'sgirl: I heard that negotiations will start on Monday, the 26th. They are still picketing this week, with a big rally tomorrow on Hollywood Blvd.
BTW: I just bought the S3 of Nancy Stafford's Finding Lost. Anybody else have these books? Looking forward to following along when the S3 DVDs get here.
Thanks Maven
Good to know they're going to start negotiations back up after Thanksgiving.
I've never read any of her books. I've heard they're pretty good. Maybe I'll try them.
If you like Nikki Stafford's LOST books, you might want to check out her blog.
Thanks, Memphish! I even got her name wrong! LOL
Good morning, all!
Mr. Melissa sent me this link to a good interview with Daniel Dae Kim: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/34830
No spoilers at all - really. They don't discuss the new season, just some of his thoughts on the show as a whole, and on his character and acting background as well.
i know the mentioned neil of frogurt in s.o.s. he was gonna help bernard build his signal and hurley was talking about him, but i cant find the diary anywhere so i dont know if hes in there
Here's the Lostpedia Diary page 2Costa. I don't see any mention of Frogurt though. The diary isn't mentioned in Frogurt's page either. Could it be Steve you were thinking of?
Hey, guys - I hate to do this again, but I think we're going to have to push the podcast back to next Tuesday. What with the holiday and works, David and I have just been slammed, and we're having trouble coordinating a date.
I'm really sorry about this!
Melissa, please don't feel guilty about life interfering with the podcast. We understand!
Does that mean we'll do Turn of the Screw and Of Mice And Men together in one 'cast? I think it might work...
BTW, I heard from Chucklez today. He's found work as an Asst Mgr for Pizza Hut. It doesn't pay what he needs, but it's better than nothing. He's struggling, and the ex is still screaming for her usual childsupport, but he's working at least. Keep praying for him! Visit him at his myspace page He says he really misses everyone here.
amused - I asked David if he wanted to do them together, but I haven't heard back yet. I think we could do it. :)
Tell chucklez that we're thinking of him! I'll swing by his myspace and say hi, too. I hope he can hang in there for a little longer.
Melissa_Lossa: Don't worry about putting off the podcast again! We're easy here!
Will say hi to Dan.
BTW: The third Lost Missing Pieces is up on DarkUFO (Spoilers).
Whoa, that Mobisode is pretty juicy!
I agree capcom.
Very interesting.
I'm enjoying these mobisodes...anything LOST will make me happy now! This last one was the most intriguing one so far.
Haven't seen Diggitydirge around in a long time, but it's Diggity's Birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY wherever you are!
(Also, Elizabeth is two months old today! LOL)
Happy now belated Birthday Diggity Dirge!
Hi Everyone, Happy Birthday to all of the November folks...and apologies for not being around and paying much attention to my favorite bloggers.
Woo, that 3rd V-Cast was pretty good. I agree capcom and Maven. At first I though I was just being Lost deprived, but on second viewing I decided it was pretty fantastic.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate that sort of thing. I myself am attempting pie making. I fear it will look something like the typical movie bad baker lady, and there will be puffs of flour all over the place. There are multiple pans involved so I feel a little scared. I take solace in the fact that even Juliet burned her book club baked goods. Gobble!
I was just on ABC.com looking to find out the name of the actor who plays Frogurt and saw something really strange. In the credits, the first mobisode, The Watch, is listed as Episode 107. The Hurley one is listed as 103 and the newest one is listed as 101. What's up with that? (Probably answer -- crap ABC intern again.)
Hey All! Happy B-day Diggity, where ever you are!
And happy T-day to everyone.
Dennis posted some great photos that he found of the Heroes cast drinking Cloverfield Slushos, over on his Cloverfield blog. Funny as a crossover thing for Chucklez too. :-)
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I'm sure we all have a lot to be thankful for, don't we?
Happy Belated Birthday Diggitydirge! Where ever you are.
Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to those who celebrate.
Ange
Don't worry baking isn't as intimidating as it seems. I'm sure you'll do fine.
A late Happy Birthday Diggitydirge.
A Happy 2 mo.Birthday to Elizabeth,Maven.Wishing you all an Early Happy Thanksgiving.I am thankful for so many things. Besides family ,friends, health,a job,a roof over my head, etc.I am thankful that The Lost Fantasty Leage is only practice now.(my current ranking is 1,749.)Everyone,Have a great Holiday tomorrow..
Happy Birthday, Happy Thanksgiving, etc. :)
Mr. Mel and I are having Thanksgiving at our house for the first time - everybody cross your fingers that I don't destroy the turkey!
I love that new mobisode - finally, something interesting!
Happy Birthday to all you November babies!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone too!!
We're in Atlanta, so not much cooking responsibility for me (yeah!) Ange- just remember it only has to taste good, it doesn't have to look good- :)
I've blocked myspace from my computer because of babysitter issues, so if anyone wants to wish chucklez well for me I'd appreciate it. He's had a tough year or two.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday with their families!
Scoutpost: I posted on Chucklez MySpace for you.
Hey Heroes fans, if anyone is interested, on Dennis' Cloverfield blog someone posted the site of the director/producer's blog about making the show. It's fascinating if you like learning about those kinds of details. Also includes many humorous anecdotes about the filming, actors, etc., as one would expect from such a creative bunch of peeps.
http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com/
Oops, Dennis linked it right from his blog actually, duh. :o)
Just stopping by to say Happy Thanksgiving eve to everyone.
Lil' Elizabeth is already 2months? Wow, time sure flies. Many smiles, Maven!
got to go check out the mobisode...
Happy ThanxGiven's yo,
Haven't bneen around in a while. I am enjoying the podcasts and reading when I can but, there just isn't enough time in the day when you work 10 - 14 hours a day. Can't wait for the new season and The Cloverfield movie before that. The new trailer is very intriuging.
C-ya and Namaste
Ded
Happy Thanksgiving!
Fenris posted a new Lost track. Check it out!
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Eat to your heart's content!
Hey Everybody, Long Time no see.....Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone.

Melissa's comment prompted me to investigate a little deeper. I was surprised what turned up.

I should have included a possible spoiler warning to the above link.
*****SPOILERS ABOVE******
My son's mother-in-law (a LOST fan, too!) said she heard on a local news report about the 8 episodes being shown AND that the release of S3 DVDs has been canceled!!!!! I told her that's impossible. The DVDs have already been released in other parts of the world. How could they even do that? I have not heard this mentioned anywhere on any LOST site. Has anyone heard anything about this?
Hope everyone got their fill of turkey and pies and had a great Thanksgiving. Everyone waking up early for the sales? LOL
I think she heard the DVD release party had been canceled. Darkufo has something about it.
And yeah, I'm on my way to the store...*yawn*...there's a DVD/VCR combo I need for only $$39...
Thanks, Amused. That's probably what she heard. :)
Good luck with your shopping!
We have much to be thankful for...check out my Thanksgiving update on my blog!
Hi Maven,
Wonderful photos.Elizabeth looks great.I think she really loves those quilts her Grandma makes for her.I'm glad your family was able to get together for Thanksgiving.
My heart skipped a beat when I read that DVD rumor.I hope it was just the party being cancelled.
Happy Birthday Passafist.
I hope you have a Super B'day with lots of love, and fun.
Happy Birthday Passafist!!
Hope it was a good one.
Happy Birthday Passasfist and to your twin sister. It's also my mom's birthday, and guess what? She has a twin brother. Eerie, huh? :0)
Happy birthday Passafist and Sisstafist! :o) To your mom and undle too Memphish. XO
Oops, I meant uncle.
Happy Birthday to Passafist and his twin sister! Hope it's doubly great!
It's also Pharmacopeia's (Erin's) birthday. Since she's 1/2 around the world, she's probably into tomorrow already!
Happy birthday Passafist!
Actually Maven, Erin (Pharmacopeia) is in your neck of the woods and celebrating her birthday on our actual today :). Guess where she's coming next.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday and survived black Friday!
Wow, Ange! Guess you'll have to open an inn for TLCers! Have fun!
Happy late Bday to everyone who had a bday. umm yeah.
I hope everyone, everyone, has had a great holiday weekend.
Memphish - That is eerie.
Maven - Elizabeth is huge! How is she doing.....is she sleeping through the night yet, rolling over, sitting up?
Happy Birthday Pharmacopeia, hope you have a great one! *<:o)
If you all have not been following the Cloverfield thing too closely on Dennis's blog yet, I would say that now would be a good time to start. It's beginning to look very TLE-like in nature, and even has a Japanese drilling business website that has just been hacked into. No need to spend a lot of time on it if you don't want to (I don't). Dennis lays out all the latest clues as they are revealed on his blog, and the bloggers who are so inclined are taking the info apart and posting it for everyone. Overall, a very intriguing mystery movie story is starting to unfold for the watching. But it is J.J. after all, what else would we expect. :-)
BTW, TBM and Ded, nice to hear from you guys! :-)
Capcom - Do you have a link to Dennis' site? I'd love to check it out!
Olerica: Here's the link to Dennis' site. I agree with Capcom...if you just want to lurk and follow along, Dennis is on top of the latest Cloverfield action. It's finally getting more interesting with the hack of the Taraguto site.
*Tagruato!
capcom
I just caught up on it last week.
Looks like I need to go see what's going on.
Thanks
Thanks for posting the link Maven. :-)
Yeah, Sayidsgirl, it ramped up a little bit with the hacking this week. You probably saw the letter and stuff before then, right? We'll see how fast it goes now that there is only about a month left till the movie. There was a lot of myspace junk before this, but that doesn't really interest me too much (but it seems to tie in, if some peep's guesses are correct).
The funny/great thing about the whole Cloverfield caper is the similarities to Lost and TLE. You can kind of imagine J.J.'s imagination going crazy while TLE was going on, and see him getting more ideas for a new kind of thing using a movie and an ARG-type deal. He probably had a lot of "what if we could do this" ideas during TLE, and then just rolled it into an idea for the new movie. Pretty cool. :-)
Hey, everyone! Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. :)
maven - those new photos are so adorable! Elizabeth gets cuter by the day.
Happy birthday to Erin and David (and David's twin sister)!
David, if you're out there - are we planning on tomorrow for Turn of the Screw?
capcom
yeah I saw the letter. Very TLE huh especially now with the hack. I wasn't too interested in the whole myspace thing either even though it was tied in.
It got kind of slow there for awhile.
I guess it's getting fired up now.
Is anyone else having problems with ABC's Lost site? When I go there the links for the Missing Pieces and everything else on the left side never appear. If I go to the Missing Link page from the address stored in my browser, I only get the first 2 episodes.
Maven, I think you should go over to Disney and offer to take over running that site. It's really a disgrace that the most internet driven show on television has one of the worst official sites on the web.
Memphish: I just checked out the ABC Lost site. Everything seems to be there for me.
I'm probably the last person in the world that could run a website! LOL
The missing links are back up for me now too Maven, but they still haven't posted the 3rd Missing Moment. I've already watched the 4th on Hubby's phone and it's a classic Juliet moment, much like 3 is a classic Ben moment. I haven't checked to see if DarkUFO has the clip yet because I'm avoiding spoilers. I wish he'd create a separate Missing Moment section.
Dark's putting the mobisodes in the trailers section also.
Dark has posted the Missing Moments in the Trailers section if you want to avoid spoilers.
:-)
Hey, everyone - My podcast partner in crime, Mr. Passafist himself, is MIA (I think he's drowning under a pile of work right now), so I'm not sure when our next podcast will be. I'm going to try to talk him into doing one long show for both Turn of the Screw and Of Mice and Men - what do you think?
Sorry again... I miss talking to you guys already! :)
Interesting thought on the third Missing Piece. Since it appears they're being treated as spoilers here, I'll put it on my blog. Come on over and check it out. Lostpedia doesn't let you sign theories, but if you check the History page, you'll see that it was I who posted it there! Mwa-ha-ha.
I couldn't get the 4th Missing Piece with Juliet to work...it said it was set to private. Anyone know where else it's posted?
ABC.com is sure far behind themselves!
Melissa, I think a combo 'cast about the two books is a great idea.
I miss hearing everyone's lovely voices too.
I got to see Missing Pieces #4 (it finally worked). I just love that manipulative Juliet.
Melissa: Hopefully, Passafist will return! Combining the books would work. I've been rushing home each Tuesday, and have been disappointed that the podcast is not on. I know it's a very busy time of year for everyone.
FYI, if you know anyone with a Verizon phone and the have VCast capability there is no additional charge for the LOST content. It's just part of having a VCast ready phone and plan. Verizon seems to be like ABC.com though--inconsistent on what's available and when. I couldn't get #2 until after 7am EST on a Tuesday, but I've gotten #3 and #4 on Monday nights. The Hubby keeps insisting on taking his phone with him or I'd check it more often.
Memphish: I have a Verizon phone and VCast capability. But I thought when I connected to the internet there was a charge. I don't think I have a "plan" that gives me access to the net without a charge. :(
I'm fine with waiting until Dark posts the pieces.
I think it just depends on your plan Maven. Next to the clips it says $0.00. So there's no additional charge at least.
Good morning everyone! Just noticed on Watch with Kristin that Lost previews will be running in movie theaters during the month of December. No spoilers on the notice, just that this season will be "crazy good". That's reassuring.
Has anyone seen any updates on the writers' negotiations?
Hey FYSB!
For a second I thought something was wrong with the way my computer downloaded the TLC page because there was only one comment yesterday!
As far as writer negotiations go- I check DarkUFO's site. He has a special "strike" page/section- just click on strike at the top of his home page. Looks like the two sides have been negotiating going on four days now, but I haven't read the whole article, so don't know where they're at as far as ending the strike.
I really wish it would end soon, so that LOST could get back into full production!
I know it's getting close to February, but I'm really starting to "jones" for some new LOST.
Hey Scoutpost! Thanks for the tip on Dark UFO. Doesn't sound like they're moving very quickly, but the fact that they're still talking is reassuring. I found this quote interesting
"Whether the television industry’s highly paid show runners — writer-producers who manage productions — are willing to jeopardize their jobs and programs by supporting a prolonged strike will be a major factor in the guild’s decision-making over the next few days."
Broadway's strike ended today, so hopefully that will signal good vibes. As a union member, let me tell you that if the two sides are talking, it's got to be a good thing. Even if it takes a while. But my job doesn't result in millions of dollars of revenue. I'd bet you'll see a settlement by next week Friday.
In other news, if anyone's interested, that new writing gig I mentioned previously has officially launched. You can find the info at my blog. It's exciting as hell!
DarkUFO has the 4th week of the Lost Hiatus Fantasy League up. All I can say is that my husband is crushing me! LOL (And I picked his team!)
I finished 26th. Just off the leader board darn it. I had 535 points. Needless to say, Locke is on my team.
Wow, Memphish. That's really impressive.
Well, it looks like the strike is going to continue. The press blackout on the negotiations have been lifted, and the AMPTP has offered a "rollback" deal. They're basically offering $250 for streaming an episode (versus $20,000 in residuals for a TV repeat). Read all the details on Nikki Finke's blog.
TBP, congrats on your new gig. Much success to you!
On the strike: I've noticed lately more and more ads for online content. Such as...
Netflix lets you download a movie direct to your computer as a rental. This is not new, I'm sure, but does anyone get paid besides the studio for a rental if it is downloaded?
Heroes' site has an online series about to take form. Sounds like the studios are testing the waters on the direct internet broadcasting that Damon is predicting.
More and more ads for exclusive online content, whether it's sent to your phone or desktop.
And the AMPTP are crying poor? Give me a break! They'd better watch themselves or the writers and artists will go out on their own and direct market themselves to the fans, form their own companies (United Artists, DreamWorks) and bypass the big suits entirely!
Here's a pretty good summary of where the discussion stands. They're taking off a few days to consider the latest AMPTP proposal, but the WGA has pretty much shredded it already. Does anyone know when the drop dead date is to call off the rest of the season?
Variety Strike Update
Hey, everyone -
Mr. Mel and I went to movies last night and saw the Lost trailer! I was so excited. :)
It went by pretty quick, so I'm sure I'm missed alot, but here's what I remember:
****spoiler, if you don't want to know****
The trailer starts with text:
On September 22, 2004, Oceanic Flight 815 crashed.
In 2008, rescue arrives...
...or has it?
There's a shot of Ben saying "Everyone on this island will die."
There's also a shot of Locke saying "Whatever they came here for, it isn't us."
Near the beginning, Kate says something, but I didn't catch what it was.
A lot of the shots look similar to the ones in the promo that they ran for the mobisodes a few weeks ago (darkufo has it, if you haven't seen it), with shots of everyone running around, Hurley jumping, the item that has the Hydra logo on it, etc. I swear there's also a shot of a cow, but it went by so fast, it was hard to tell.
The trailer ends with the words:
Lost returns in 2008.
**** end spoiler****
I'm sure I missed a lot - I was too excited to catch it all! :) Seems like most of the regulars were in it, though, so that's pretty cool. Hopefully, someone gets it online soon!
That's so cool melissa_lossa
You lucky dog.
I hope it gets up on line soon too.
FYSB, I read somewhere that Dec. 8th was a possible drop dead date. I guess that would give writers 2-3 weeks pre-Xmas to write so that production could kick back in early Jan. I'm not sure how accurate that source was (or at this point what it was) and whether or not it would affect all shows equally. It's not just Winter/Spring 2008 in jeopardy either. It's also pilots for Fall 2008.
As for the current proposal, I guess the AMPTP thinks it can do without writers. That was a pretty insulting offer. I was insulted for the writers.
That date sounds reasonable, memphish. And for what it's worth, I agree with you on the AMPTP offer. They're foolish and shortsighted if they think they can continue to run content on new media and not ultimately pay the writers for it. The world is changing and there are more revenue streams than the traditional advertising.
My fantasy team had better step it up - I'm only at 70 points this week. :(
Sounds like a great trailer Melissa, thanks!
I sure hope those trailers get posted somewhere because we hardly ever go to a movie theater. Thanks for the description, Melissa.
FYI: There's a review of the Season 3 LOST DVD in this weeks Entertainment Weekly. "It'll make you anticipate the show's February return -- and curse the writers' strike that could cut the next season short." They give it an A-. On a sidebar, they list 3 books from the set's "Book Club" extra: The Third Policeman, The Turn of the Screw and Carrie! Guess our Book Club is on the right track.
Hey gang,
I''m trying to decide on what is a good stand to take to show solidarity with the writers. Should we...
--not buy any DVDs until the strike is over? Or just not any newly released ones? Have the ones in the stores already been paid for by the stores that sell them to us?
--not watch any streaming video, whole episodes, movies online?
I'm not sure which would make the greater impact on the studios. And of course whatever I do, I'll be sure to write the execs and tell them about it. And include a pencil!
A2BH, you can check out United Hollywood for the WGA's updates on their position.
I've never seen anyone from WGA suggest we shouldn't buy DVDs or watch online or onscreen content. I have seen them ask people to write and call and email and send pencils and send pennys to network executives and sign an online petition.
Asking us not to consume media, especially online media, in some ways undercuts the WGA's argument that there is money to be made in new media. But other than the LOST mobisodes it's probably the case that no writer is being paid (or actor or director or under the line person either) for anything you watch online.
Thanks Memphish. That site is wonderful for following the strike. Legally, the WGA can't endorse a boycott. So they don't.
Fans4writers has a section about what fans can do. It's very helpful. ;)
Support the writers! Send a pencil!
Hey! Seems like several oldies stopped in to say, "Hi!" on this post. Might as well add mine too!
Happy holidays everyone! And merry Christmas!
OMG! TwinkleStarMommie! So great to hear from you.
I can't believe Hanukkah is in 4 days! Gotta start making those latkes and getting my kitchen all oily! LOL Been having a great time buying toys for Elizabeth and wrapping them!
Apparently, things are racheting up over at Cloverfield Clues (Dennis' site). Website are being found...
FYI: The Pencils to Media Moguls campaign is heating up. Carlton and Damon have offered some raffle prizes for each pencil carton you order:
"Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse and Matthew Fox are ready to share some of the mysteries from LOST. (This note is from Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse executive producers of LOST)
Dear LOST fans,
Please join us and support all the writers of your favorite TV shows. So many of you guys have asked what you can do to help and this is it!
We're gonna offer three prizes (chosen at random) -- Every box you buy gives you one shot at the raffle.

Thank you for all your support. We love you and miss you all. And we really hope to get back to work soon!"
Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse
Very cool note, Maven. Yes, time goes fast. I love gearing up for gift giving and it's so much more special since I now have children. Plus, the balloon fairy is about to turn 3! And yes, her favorite song is still Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...
United Hollywood has a funny video by Chris and Laurie Nolan up in which writers from different genres offer solutions to the strike. There's a short bit with a LOST "writer" that's pretty funny.
Maven, I'm not sure that LOST thing with the pencils is legit. There's nothing obvious on either unitedhollywood.com or pencils2moguls.com that says anything from Damon, Carlton and Matthew Fox. I posted a similar comment on DarkUFO and hopefully someone will run it down as legit. But for now I'd advise everyone to be cautious if you want to do something just to win prizes. Another clue that it may not be legit is there's no date for a drawing, plus it just doesn't sound like something they'd do, at least the answering questions part.
Memphish: Whether it's legit or not, I still think sending the pencils is a good idea...so I finally did it.
Update: This seems to be legit. Several showrunners have offered incentives, too. It's now on the main page of United Hollywood.
Great!
Anyone hear about this?:
Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) has announced it will launch a number of branded, video-on-demand, non-linear channels on a subscription- and advertiser-supported basis over a variety of delivery platforms.
The on-demand and broadband models make financial sense, says Jeffrey Schlesinger, WBITD's president. "The costs here are much lower than creating a linear channel. You don't have as much on-air promotion that you have to do. You don't have as much scheduling or advertising sales infrastructure. You don't have to worry about commercial insertion." In the UK, Warner TV is on Virgin Media's digital cable platform and on BT's IPTV television platform. This service is available to all on-demand subscribers.
Sounds like the WB is trying to get around paying residuals. Damon warned us about the changing nature of television. Could this be a sign of that change?
I think I'll send them another box of pencils.
Hey Twinkle, long time no anything! :o) Good to hear from you. I hope that everything that you talked about on SOTL is going OK too.
Hey, guys -
I heard a report on NPR this morning about changing media. They were mostly talking about whether or not films and albums would ever be released only online, but they also talked a little bit about TV shows being available online and On Demand, and how that was changing the way TV is made and marketed. Then they talked a little bit about ARGs, and the two examples that they used were the Heroes game and The Lost Experience! They mentioned how these games helped build strong online fan communities, and I thought of all of you. :)
Okay, so I'm taking a poll. David is still incommunicado, so I have no idea when our podcast for Turn of the Screw will be. What do we want to do?
a) Squeeze three podcasts in this month, for Turn of the Screw, Of Mice and Men and Carrie.
b) Do one marathon podcast for Turn of the Screw and Of Mice and Men and do a podcast for Carrie at the end of the month as usual.
c) Skip Of Mice and Men for right now, to get us back on schedule, and do a podcast for Turn of the Screw and another one for Carrie at the end of the month.
d) Push everything back, making Of Mice and Men our December book, Carrie or January book and dropping Lord of the Flies (or we could do two books in January).
Let me know what you think. I know that everyone gets crazy busy this time of year, so I'm willing to go with whatever the masses want, provided I can get back in touch with David.
Thanks for your input!
Hey Gang...it's a SNOW DAY! Well for me at least, and I actually have time to do something, anything besides clean, decorate, work, make cards, work, oh and clean. That said, I haven't even gotten a little bit of the way through Of Mice and Men. Although TBF it's a reread so it shouldn't take but and hour or two. Carrie is a reread too, but that might take longer. Maybe it should be a snow day of reading!
Okay so I vote for option D with a podcast for OMAM at the end of the month giving people time to holiday ;).
I am off to go buy some boxes of pencils now. You folks really gave me a boost to go and do that. Also, the Lost prizes aren't too shabby...although I would opt for one of the non interactive ones I think. I can only imagine the things that may or may not come out of my mouth given the opportunity to talk to an actual Lostie!
Also, because I'll be computer-less tomorrow, I wanted to wish Maven a very happy Chanukah and loads of family time with Elizabeth et al. in the days ahead!
Melissa: I think the podcast idea is great, but because David seems to have flown the coop, maybe we should try a discussion on the blog instead. You can post your questions and we can go from there. There might be more participation that way since December is such a busy month family-wise. We can all add our 2 cents whenever we can.
Thanks, Ange! :)
Heheh, just got the "oily" Maven. :-)
LOL! No matter what I do, Capcom, when I make latkes (potato pancakes), oil gets splattered everywhere! (But they're worth it!)
maven - I like your suggestion. What does everybody think about just skipping a couple of podcasts, and using the blog for discussion? I already have questions for Turn of the Screw, so we could start right away.
The last time that I talked to David, his job had let someone go and given him all of that person's work, plus he was supposed to be programming an entire radio station by himself. So, I know that he's not flaking out, he's just under a ton of pressure right now. Knowing that, I hate to pester him to do a podcast.
Hey, if all else fails, I see that Dennis will be doing a weekly Cloverfield podcast - we can just hijack that! Just kidding, Dennis!
Hey everyone!
I like Maven's idea for the podcasts. I think the only other option would be if someone else in here can host a podcast for us. Or go with the hijack Dennis! LOL
Hey everyone. The blog discussion sounds like a good idea to me. Also, option D for pushing things back a bit also works (mainly because I'm completely behind in reading!)
Now regarding the pencil sending/raffle-

I can only imagine the things that may or may not come out of my mouth given the opportunity to talk to an actual Lostie!
Isn't that the truth! I'm sure I would be a babbling idiot- probably end up asking "Who does Kate choose- Jack or Sawyer?" LOL Then I would have to go kill myself.
But it did get me thinking, what would I ask the producers? I feel so distanced from LOST right now, I've almost forgotten what really juicy questions I would normally think to ask. So I put this to you all, just as sort of fun and get our minds going- what would you ask Damon, Carlton, and Foxy about the show if you had the chance?
Oh I meant to say- Hi Twinkle!! How are you?!
And, Happy Hanukkah Maven! Happy Snow Day Ange! Happy Holidays everyone!
Should we try and get Dennis to start a new post for us? This one is getting kinda long.
Thanks, Scoutpost!
Hey, maven - I just sent Dennis an e-mail about a new post. I think that we'll just plan on doing Turn of the Screw here, and go from there.
Thanks, Melissa!
Oh, and Happy Hanukkah!
And hi, twinkle! (and everyone else)
Missing Piece #5, Operation Sleeper, is up in DarkUFO's spoilers now. I saw it on Hubby's phone. It's a good one. I might even end up liking Juliet, dang it. For a "good" poker player, Jack continues to be dumber than dirt when it comes to her though.
Okay Mobisode 5 watched (thanks memphish for the heads up on that).
Of Mice and Men read.
Agreed about The Turn of the Screw...doing it here is great, and leisurely for those of us who can never manage to make it to a podcast ;).
This has been a productive snowday, although I still feel sad after Of Mice and Men...I think ice cream and starting Carrie is the solution to that.
Will Turn of the Screw be the new post Melissa?
Thanks, Memphish, for the heads up on Piece #5. Agree that it's a good one and actually is pretty worthwhile.
FYI: UnitedHollywood has a post by Carlton Cuse in a letter to the WGA. In it he dispels any disunity amongst the showrunners...saying he went to work on LOST as a producer to work on the remaining episodes for the fans. But now, to show the AMPTP that the showrunners mean business after the "negotiations" last week, he will no longer work on LOST in that capacity.
Yeah, ange - Dennis going to make a post for the book, and then I'll post the questions in the comments.
Sounds like you had a very productive day! :)
NEW POST!!!!
