The Lost Community Podcast - Episode 64

Hosts David A Dein and Steve The Goog Guglich are the Variables in this weeks episode. Along the way David leaves poor Steve speechless, and we read a bunch of e-mails from you. It's the best episode yet!!

If you'd like to be a guest on the podcast, have any theories, discover any clues, or just want to say "Hi!", contact TLCpodcast@gmail.com (mp3 comments are accepted as well), or leave a voice mail or fax at (206) 202-3512.

I like the episodes more later when they've all aired and I can watch them in a row. .. so I'm not sure why I try so hard not to be spoiled now that I think about it. LOL

I just listened the podcast, and I would like to say something about what the dudes said, referring to today's episode title ("Follow The Leader"). They said it could be referring to Elloise, but I don't believe it could be possible, not only as she's nothing more than a strict, horrible mother (:P), but I think it's obvius (someone else may think my idea's stupid, and I have no problem with it) that the leader is Jack. As Sawyer didn't make it to solve the problems occured, i guess (and I've read no spoilers, it's just my personal view of how things will happen) Jack is going to accept his old role, will become the leader again, and will try help his friends get off this conflict with the Dharma guys...

Welcome to vg.92! Love getting new "faces" here. Yes, Jack's eyes lit up when he realized he had a purpose again.

I was looking at the timelines at Lostpedia today and something confused me:

They state that Locke died and Ajira 316 subsequently took off in the year 2008. However, they also state that Ajira 316 landed in the year 2007.

I understand that the first part is probably based on Locke's (Bentham's) fake passport, which had an issue date of December 12, 2007, but how did they conclude that Ajira flashed into the previous year before landing!?

memphish said...

BlueHeron I think you've encountered the basic problem with a Wiki. One could guess that the Ajira took off in 2008 because it should have been 2005 when the O6 were "rescued" and became the O6. Then they were in the real world for 3 years so that leads to 2008. But as the episodes have aired this year they've said the Sawyer group is in 1977 and that Ajira is in 30 years later time which would be 2007. Maybe they'll show us Ben celebrating another birthday and we'll be able to nail the date to late December 2007. Or maybe someone will regret missing the Super Bowl and we'll know it's Jan/Feb 2008.

blueheron13 said...

Memphish,

So the exact dates (even years) are still based on some conjecture at this point, then?

memphish said...

Well they've said lots of times that they're in 1977, but no one has said they're in 2007.

lost2010 said...

I know that no one else cares anymore but do we know how long Jack and Kate were engaged? Did they break up a few weeks before Locke turned up or a few months before?

Or do we know?

Capcom said...

Re: 2007, that's bugged me too. I assumed that the Ajira flight was intended to be "realtime" since we were supposed to be on the flight too. But then when TPTB jump from the past to future, etc., they say 30 years earlier or later. :-p

Good Q about the micro-engagement Lost2010.

Capcom said...

As per Wiki timeline, 2007-Sept- Jack proposes to Kate. Later in Sept. "Aaron walks in on the fight and Jack leaves them as Kate comforts Aaron" and then nothing more until Jack sees the obit in the paper.

So I guess that they were engaged just for September?

Melissa_;
Only our Lost Community Book Club leader could have come up with that.I Googled, and thought that it is worth sharing.Thanks.

Jack:Back in the saddle again?

lost2010 said...

Okay so they were engaged for a month. . .but how long after they broke up did they leave for the island? That's what we can't really pinpoint I guess. I was trying to figure out whether bleep bleep who bleep bleep might bleep bleep. . .

Never mind. :)

Capcom said...

Oh. Well, it says in January 2008 (which brings up that damm 30 years problem! Couldn't they have said 31 years earlier?!), five days after Lockes death, Kate and Jack *boink* in the hotel. On the 7th day after Locke's death, they are on the 316 plane and crash.

;-)

lost2010 said...

Okay. Hmmm. So late September to January. . .actually. . .okay. . .I guess it's not quite as wierd as I first thought that she shows up at Jack's apartment and that she still has his picture all over her apartment.

Capcom said...

Interesting, yes I guess you'd be correct about that. Apparently she didn't do the obligatory sweep and destroy of all things "Ex" after their break-up yet. :o)

lost2010 said...

And yet no pictures of Kate in stalker-Jack's place that I noticed. . .or did I just miss them? Maybe Jack was being encouraged in his stalking more than we originally thought.

Capcom said...

LOL. I always kind of thought that Sarah was over-reacting just a tad about that. And I've been stalked, so I'm even super sensitive to all that.

lost2010 said...

I just keep trying to figure out errr, something from the promo. Because it seems like there's no way that what's good for the gander is good for the goose on that one.

lost2010 said...

Tonight has been delightfully boring compared to last Wednesday. I might actually get to watch this week. :)

Capcom said...

Hmmm, can't wait to see what that might be! Be sure to bring it up again after the scene in question airs.

maven said...

Have fun tonight with the show, gang! "See" you all later.

(BTW: Capcom, that stalking story sounds interesting! LOL)

Very funny Maven. Maybe if he was as cute as Jack, it would have been a somewhat less undesirable situation. :o)
