okay, tell me I'm not first again...where is everyone? All asleep I suppose. Ah well, I am really intrigued by the destruction of the beach camp and then seeing the losties standing and meandering around looking like "ok, where'd it go?" It would be really strange if things changed at the moment the O6 arrive back to the island and the beach camp is not there yet...or something like that. Don't know if that's clear or not.

First off I apologize for the length of this post. It's going to be really long. But I figured I get all of my thoughts out at once.
Here are some of my observations.
Desmond and Penny are still on her boat in this promo. Penny is wearing a wedding ring. Desmond seem distraught in one scene and he seems confused/scared when he wakes up. I'm wondering if he's time jumping again.
Hurley has something red on his shirt when he's at the railing with the gun and when he's racing down the street in the car/suv, which appears to be blood. However I unfortunately read a spoiler on this in the promo post at Dark's that discounts this as being blood. We'll see.
When Locke is falling from the roots of the banyon tree is this an old clip from his dream when he was with Eko or something new?
I'm wondering if Hurley and Sayid might be in a hospital chapel where Hurley is peeking out of the window and Sayid is on the floor.
Jack and Sayid appear to be fighting in a hospital room. One sceen shows Jack with an exam light in his hand. Another there's an oxygen mask around Sayid's neck.
Some at Dark's thinks they are fighting because Sayid was hurt and woke up and was confused about where her was. Others think maybe he was time jumping and came back and was confused. Me I think Sayid knows Jack wants to go back and Sayid doesn't want to go back.
I'm curious on whose attacking the Losties on the island some seem to be wearing military clothing. Are these the original hostiles that the DI were fighting? Someone other than Richard's group. Or could it be Danielle's science group? How about Reamy's group?
Just how far back did the island go? We've already seen the drug plane in the first promo. Now we see Locke picking up a Virgin Mary statue when there shouldn't be any left. I thought the drug plane was long after the fighting with the DI and the hostiles and of course Danielle's group.
Is that Sun who opens the door to Kate? I think so.
What happens to Locke when he's out in the jungle with his compass? And why is he using it? To find Jacob's cabin and does it work? The last compass he had he had given to Sayid. I also have a feeling he's been sitting out there in the jungle with what appears to be a bandaged leg over night, the scene with his bloody hand. I think that scene and the night scene where he sees someone with a torch is the same place. But I could be wrong. Maybe he lost the use of his legs again.
Well that felt good to get out lol. And again I apologize for the length. Oh one more thing someone at Darks noticed when Locke and Juliet are looking out across the valley, that's where New Otherton is being built. You can see a few houses just under Locke's arm. I'm nt sure if this is correct but it could be.

Are you thinking that things don't change until Jack and the O6 come back instead of when the island is moved? That would be interesting if I understand you correctly.

That's a good question about Charlotte. Maybe that's why Daniel was so deparate to get her off the island. Something tells me Daniel's been through this before.

They way ABC put this promo together really pushes towards the fact that the O6 (including Desmond) have to find a way back to the island together...their Destiny Calls.
Sayid'sgirl: You've highlighted many of the major points of the promo, and bring up great questions about them.
1. The thing that did jump out at me about Desmond is that he does seem very confused and disoriented when he wakes up next to Penny...which would indicated his time-jumping problem. But he is with his constant, so he shouldn't be having this problem any more? But something is pulling him to leave Penny again as he feels the call of the island again.
There are two "scenes" with Sayid fighting. The first, quick one is an unknown...probably the person who was watching them at Santa Rosa. Somehow Jack shows up and tries to revive Sayid (being at Santa Rosa, there would be medical equipment...hence the oxygen mask and small, eye flashlight.) And Sayid probably does wake up disoriented, thinking Jack was his original assailant and starts choking him.
There's much to speculate about who or what group the people with guns and flaming arrows are attacking the Leftbehinders. There are many to chose from: None of them looked like the original 815 survivors (and where would they get all those weapons?), Danielle's group is a possibility or the Hostiles. Or a new group backed by Widmore. I just think it's really difficult to figure that one out now.
It would be really cool if Daniel meets up with Radzinsky in the Hazmat suit. It's also possible that it could be Kelvin. He also said that he had met Desmond on an island, didn't he? If they did go back in time it could be any of them.
I also agree with you, Sayid'sgirl, that Locke and Juliet are overlooking that valley and seeing either a group of people or the construction of New Otherton. It seems to be in the right place.
And I get the feeling that everything old is new again: Locke picking up the Virgin Mary statue, seeing the drug plane (in the other trailer), Juliet uncovering a hatch, Daniel at the Swan door, etc. It definitely seems like we've gone back to the origins of when the DI came to the island.

If we get to see the Swan again, it would make me very happy. Didn't TPTB say after it blew that we hadn't really seen the last of the Swan yet? Boy, it must have cost TPTB a lot to blow it up and then rebuild it again. J/K :o)

You wouldn't think time jumping would bother him since he's with Penny. But what if he's jumping back to a time before he met her? Then she couldn't be his constant anymore. She'd have to be in both times. Having said that I don't think that's what's happening.
You are right there are two fight scenes with Sayid. And your theory that he woke up dsoriented is possible. I just don't feel that's the case. I think he's fighting Jack because he doesn't want Jack trying to take him back to the island. Not to say Jack might have been trying to help him. I don't know but I think it's cool. I love watching Sayid fight. Is that weird? I liked it when Jin took on Patchy to so...anyway.
I would love for it to be Radzinskky in the hazmat suit. I'd like to know more about him.
What confuses me is the DI fighting with the hostiles would be a completely different timeline than when the drug plane crashed on the island. Wouldn't it?

I would love to see the Swan again too? I was obsessed with that place. I even drew what I think the inside looks like in paint.
The Losties camp being gone is going to be interesting for them. That may be part of why they are so easily attacked.
Oh and I forgot to mention Vincent being with the people who were attacking them. Did they use him to find the Losties?

I'm wondering if maybe Locke hurts his leg when he falls out of the tree. Maybe in the fall he stabs himself with one of his many knives that are in his cargo pockets, heheh. But seriously, it looks like a long fall from that tree.

P.S. With Destiny in the promo and the talk of them coming (or going?) full cirlce with old being new, etc., don't forget that Locke told Jack that being on the island was their destiny. I wonder if Jack will be reminded of that in the new season.

FYI: There's another version of the promo released and it's up at DarkUFO's (under spoilers). There a few new things in it: a baby being born, Sawyer banging on a door and saying "Open the damn door", the Frozen Donkey Wheel, Ethan(?) pulling a gun on Locke, and the 8:15 clock.
Some are speculating that the baby is Alex or Annie. And most people are pretty sure it's Ethan pulling the gun on Locke. If we are going back in time those things will fit in,

Okay, it was me. Question: How many days were covered in the first season of LOST? Honestly, I knew it was more than 40 and fewer than 48, but couldn't remember for sure if it was 42 or 44. So I looked it up while I was redialing, and bingo bango. 44.

Hey, book clubbers - our next book is supposed to be Survivors of the Chancellor. However, I have not been able to find it at any library or bookstore, and was told that it is out of print.
I did find it online, but I wanted to see how everyone felt about having to read it that way. Any opinions?

Anyway I've already read Suvivors of the Chancellor. I actually found it a very good read. Eaiser than some of Jules Verne's other works.
Lost2010 just read it too so she's ready! Her recaps on her blog were interesting.
Amazon.com has some copies, new and used.

I don't know how much of the packaging has been revealed online, but the sleeve-to-box transition is pretty cool, and the "liner notes" come on a very funny faux-Oceanic (Fauxceanic?) info pamphlet. TWO discs of extras is a lot to dig through!

I just watched our special videos! Already I can see how things get distored! In the previous promos we all thought that Kate was packing and taking Aaron because they had to get back to the island. But now it seems there is more to that than meets the eye! Who is this mysterious client and one would think her house would be watched to see if she leaves. I also noticed the Jack/Aaron picture right away. I guess they were playing house/family for a while.

Real life kicked in just as I started to watch the videos. I don't mind promos or previews.
But I gotta say. I don't much care for sneek peeks cause they show to much. They did this at ABC.com in the third season. But they were posting a sneek peek of that nights show. I seen the whole scene where Kate and Sawyer were breaking rocks and he gets tasered. I'd rather watch it during the show. This is some what different. We don't know what episode it's from, but as soon as we see this part we'll know what's going to happen. And that takes away from the show for me.
But since we've all already watched this one I'll comment.
I think the lawyers could be from Ben it could be a way of forcing her to go back to the island, since this puts her on the run again.

Wow. ABC is really going to give Lost 3 hours two weeks in a row? Makes them seem a bit desparate for ratings. Or their other programing is just that bad. Wonder what they'll do when Lost is over?
I had to look up what ABC is currently playing on Wednesdays. Apparently it's Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money.
Obviously, I don't watch any of them or I'd have known that.

ABC aquired Scrubs form NBC. They were going to cancel it. It will be on before Lost. And Life on Mars will come back after the premiere week and be on after Lost.
At least that's what I read.

This is embarrassing but I read 'The Survivors of the Chancellor' all except the last few chapters and when I was cleaning up for Thanksgiving dinner I mislaid it. I can't find it anywhere. They were floating around out in the ocean on a raft when I left them and I have no idea where to look anymore.
The Lighthouse. . .conjures up images of a homing beacon or something. . .of a lighthouse keeper. . .of hmmm, refracting the light so that it doesn't scatter just right. . .so that the island is hidden. . .
And I was doing so well with the 'not speculating' thing. . .

Morning LoCos. I've been avoiding this thread because I'm trying to be very spoiler averse, but I got my S4 DVDs today and wanted to comment.
Remember way back to Ep. 4.1 when Hurley tells Jack he's sorry he went with Locke instead of Jack? That's always been one of those niggling items. I think the reason he may have been sorry was not that he let down Jack (which is the implication at the time given how little we knew), but instead if Hurley had gone with Jack, he would have been at the beach and never would have gotten on the helicopter and thus never would have left the Island. (Okay he could have gone to the freighter and blown up, but lets assume he wouldn't have.) Sorry if we've covered this before, but I can't remember.
memphish - I like that idea. I'm on Episode 4.3 at the moment. I find myself wondering why it took Sawyer and Hurley so long to attempt a mutiny - they seem highly dissatisfied with Locke's leadership from the very beginning.
So watching the commentary for The Beginning of the End Jorge made a really interesting point. He equated Hurley's counting to 5 to make Jacob's cabin and Charlie disappear with Kate and Jack's counting to 5 to deal with fear. Nice catch Jorge.
Did anyone ever hear any explanation for the changing photos on the wall up the stairs when Miles goes ghostbusting in Inglewood?
I could be wrong in my memory Memphish, but I think that what TPTB said about those pics was their usual, "Aha, good question, maybe it means something and maybe it doesn't." Or something like that. If there was any further specification of the meaning, I missed it.
That's a good question about the pictures memphish. I've wondered about that too.
Maybe when Miles is ghostbusting he time travels like Desmond and the pictures would be different in a different time. I don't know just a guess.
I think capcom is right TPTB never really answered that question.

4:00 to 6:00 p.m.: Lost Season 5 Premiere: A Special Preview and Discussion
Courtesy of ABC, we will screen a special 30-minute preview of the season five premiere, followed by discussion. Panelists to be announced.
Tickets for the Lost Saturday full-day pass are free, but you must RSVP to attend.

The Steven Spielberg Gallery is the site for a continuous showing of episodes from the last four seasons in a Lost environment, with art from Entertainment Weekly, behind-the-scenes interviews from EW's Jeff Jensen, and clips from Lost at PaleyFest 2005.

It's the Hollywood Foreign Press who votes for and nominates for the Golden Globes. I say we call Homeland Security and see if we can get them all deported and onto say an Oceanic Airlines flight (or maybe Ajira.)

Anyway, I have a question that can be asked generically, and if it's OK to talk about it, then we can go for it. Or if not, it can be answered generically too, by someone who's seen it. If you don't want to even see something generic, I'll skip a few spaces before I ask my question.
My Q: Regarding what Ben said at the end of the sneak peak, why the heck would he say that?! Won't they find out the answer to that when they go back to the island and ask a few questions? I don't get it. Tx.

Capcom: I didn't watch the clip, but Ben seems to say anything he says to produce a desired effect on whoever he's talking to. So I'm guessing he said it more for the effect on whoever he's speaking to than because it's logical or truthful or anything else. . .. .
That's the only thing that I can figure it is too, Lost2010. Taken the way you say it, what Ben said would really nag Jack (the man who has no faith in anything but his own curiosity and opinions) to go find out the answer. Hey tx! :-D

Ben is usually a couple of steps ahead of the person he is talking to.(except when he had that show-down with Keamy.)Whether he tells the truth or not, doesn't seem to matter,because he uses words like chess pieces.
FYI: There's a new promo out. It's posted at Dark's under spoilers. It is unbelievable. All I can say is they definitely know how to build anticipation for S5! There is so much going on in that promo...including reversed audio!

Second, I'm very, very scared to watch ABC now. I remember last year having to avert my eyes every time a LOST promo came on during football which is pretty much the only thing I watch on ABC. Maybe Auburn's abysmal season is a blessing in disguise. Weagle, Weagle indeed Lost2010.

I've been watching the promos...if you watch ABC at all you cannot miss them...they run them constantly!
I don't really see them as spoilers...they can interpreted so many different ways...you are only given such a small snippet. I just don't think that Darlton is going to allow ABC to give away something major in the promo. And they are put together so that you just get a small inkling of things, not enough to really tell you anything of substance.
I think they are doing an excellent job of whetting everyone's appetite for Season 5....not just us obsessed fans, but the casual fans, too!

Hi all. Yes, it's getting very dangerous out there. As for TPTB not giving too much away, I myself was very disappointed that they gave away the freckage in the game before the season started. I would really rather have learned that on the show. I was very surprised that they gave away something that huge ahead of time. So I don't trust those pesky PTBs, even though they used a game for a give-away last time, and not a promo. :-(
I ruined the season 2 and season 3 premieres for myself, and I enjoyed the season 4 premiere so much more being spoiler-free!
That being said, I can't help but watch the promos. I'm just trying to stay away from the on-set reports and major spoilers.
Mr. Mel and I just got a new HD TV and a blue ray player - can't wait to get season 4 on DVD for Christmas (hopefully!) and then check out season 5 in HD. :)
I agree with maven about the promos. I don't see them as spoilers either. They throw a bunch of quick clips together and you don't know if they're from one episode or three. They show one person talking and then another one and it looks like they're talking to each other but it turns out they're not.
So far I've only been spoiled once and that's when I watched the first clip. I wish I hadn't but what's done is done. I also have accidently read somethings in Darks spoiler section that I'm trying to forget.
These promos have got me so excited about the new season!!
I don't watch anything else on ABC, so other than having to be careful what I read online, it's not been that hard to avoid.

Oh my stars, the DVD extra called The Oceanic Six:Conspiracy of Lies is exactly what I've been wanting since we played Find815. Finally someone besides me is going why is the wreckage so far off course. Everyone needs to be sure and watch it.
I just watched that last night, Memphish! It asks all the burning questions we've all been wondering about. It draws attention to all the gaping holes in their "story".
Another good bonus on the DVDs is the Flash Forwards being put in chronological order. Although I'm sure there are some more parts coming, it gives you a flow to the story off-island.
I was a bit skeptical about the flash forwards, but I enjoyed it. It did line up a couple of things for me. Of course I can't think of any of them now. :-)
Yes, that conspiracy film is awesome. I saw it posted on Youtube after the Blueray, or wahtever, DVD first came out. I hope that that's a hint of things to come. Considering that, if people begin to doubt the O-6 story, they'd not have much choice but to go back to the island and hide. :o)

I think I'm going to side with Steve that Ajira just might be the magic plane that gets them back to the island and it is not an sort of ARG. It just seems like a promotional site by ABC since it actually mentions the start date of Season 5.
The interview with Marc was great. There is so much more to this show as we all are acutely aware of. There are so many layers to this show and one gets to much more the more you get into the mythology.
