second?
Yeah baby, this is starting out great! :-O
Ahhh Jacob!
One light, one dark
It's Horus right?
Yowza! Well color me wrong; there is a Jacob.
a sort-of side view of the statue!
still looks kinda like anubis...
xxoo
Hello Jacob.
It looked like a male Tawaret to me.
Jacob!
Who's the other guy?
It looked like a croc head to me.
So, Jacob's wearing the white shirt and the other guy is wearing the black one. Do you suppose we're going with the traditional 'good guys wear white' approach? Or vice versa.
So these two can't kill each other either - like Ben and Charles.
Jacob!!
awww...lil kate!
xxoo
Young Kate?
I think Michael Emerson confirmed in an interview that the statue was the goddess of fertility - I forget her name.
Geez my connection is running sloooow.
Um... what?!
Poor Daniel. He didn't have a chance did he?
Radiation and unborn Faraday.
Ratjerksky
If Kate turns out to be the chosen one, I'm done. Really. I mean it this time. LOL
Ah come on!
I still it's another bomb, it doesn't have to be huge.
But again I'm probably wrong.
LAME! What's in the box?!
I call shenanigans!
What a tease!! What's in the crate?
So Kate is important after all. :-p I guess we need to date that scene. Jacob was ok then?
So what's in the crate? Locke's body?
Bombs away?
jinx, melissa
love it, memphish!
another awww...lil Sawyer!
Man, Jacob sure gets around, huh?
xxoo
So Jacob chose all the people on 815?
Why wasn't Jack on the list?
Man, this show just keeps getting better and better.
So, Jacob roams the countryside corrupting small children who have bad childhoods?
Sawyer doesn't want things to change.
So I guess Juliet's not up for a rewind, huh?
Really!?
How many of you said You are! before John did?
Hey! I found someone I like less than Desmond! Jacob!
Me seen it coming when he said I don't have to convince you.
So, is Jacob going to visit Hurley?
We know Jack wasn't on Jacob's list - do we know who WAS?
See!!! He's evil! He's Randall Flagg!
Ok now I hate Jacob.
NADIA NO!
Ben's house.
Ellie's the leader.
So, Ellie is the leader now? NOT Charles?
Wow, would this be a Jacob-centric episode, heheh?
Good for Richard, he saved Eloise and Danny.
Horace and Amy's place I guess.
Awe, I'm sorry SG. I bet he doesn't die though, it's too early in the finale.
Thanks lost2010 I hope he doesn't die but I've had a bad feeling all season. And he has had much of a story line this year.
I had wanted to see what happened to Nadia until that(:
That should be hasn't had, not has.
The fact that we just saw Nadia die doesn't bode well, either.
If nothing else, Sayid REALLY needs to stop dating before anyone else gets hurt.
Well, now I'm thinking Jacob took out Juliet's ex too. LOL
You have a bad feeling about Sayid and I have a terrible feeling about Juliet.
Vincent.... yeah
Rose! Bernard!
it's vincent!!! and Rose and Bernard!!
xxoo
I told you they're always in the finale. lol
Hurry Hurley!
Oh my - did Rose and Bernard build Jacob's cabin?
Jacob seems so sorry, in everything he does. I'm not so sure he's a bad guy...
That's how he reels you in. . .
Okay, Rose and Bernard being in this episode was the teeny spoiler that I knew. :)
Ahh,Roses,and Moses.
Jacob;What a player.
I had a feeling that Ilana was an original Other...?
xxoo
This is totally weird!
So Jacob brings people to the Island to fight with the people already on the Island and then one group wins and the other group dies and then he does it all again? Is that right? Jacob is a sadistic bastard.
Oh, and Sawyer is being totally stupid.
Yeah, he looked at the wrong girl. He's an idiot.
Agreed. Sawyer needs to get his act together!
Book club alert!
But not sorry enough to show up fifteen minutes earlier and stop it.
This Jacob fellow sure does get around...
ok that's not the spoiler I was thinking of.
Locke's getting as good as Ben in manipulation.
And there's the spoiler I read. A wedding - I was thinking Des and Penny but this works too.
Oh, thank god - I didn't think anyone would ever find poor Charlie's ring.
Imagine looking up and seeing two of your ex-girlfriends holding guns and staring you down.
Sawyer and them need to get out of the way. I at least want them to try the bomb.
Ah, I read that spoiler as well - it didn't really turn out to be that spoilery.
Ruh-roh, the sheriff's in the road!
Yeah, very happy to see the ring again, awwwwww.
Sawyer's Angels!
Stop in the name of Love.
Sayid is going to sacrifice his life for his friends, like he offered to when he stayed behind to blow the dynamite.
The wedding was my spoiler too. But I thought it would be Sawyer and Juliet.
Lostit, ROFL.. Sawyer's Angels!!
Yeah, I've been wondering if they'd ever find Charlie's ring!!
It's odd to me that we saw Jacob at Nadia's death. I guess that was after the moving cabin in Episode 4.1 though. And Jacob was on the move 4 years before 815 crashed per the wedding and Locke's injuries. So when did he get trapped? And when did he visit Ilana?
What he's going to let Sayid bleed out!
I suppose, if Jacob shows up in time to heal Sayid, maybe he's not a bad guy after all. But if he doesn't . . . .
I HATE when that happens! (the candy bar stuck in the machine)
Jack, beware strangers baring candy.
SG, I was thinking the same thing. He didn't even tell them that Sayid was shot! IDIOT!
Like Jack needs a lilttle push.
Jacob touches them (literally)
I hope Juliet is tending to Sayid...
Jealous much.
So who's taking care of Sayid? He's DYING!!!!!
I'm tearing up. I'm gonna cry.
(On the other hand, I've been waiting 5 years for Jack and Sawyer to beat the crap out of each other.)
Juliet changed her mind.. I wonder why?
Dang that was an awesome segment. The counting to 5 scene. Jack's dad nailing him. The fight that's been 5 seasons in coming. Sawyer fights dirty. I really thought he was going to kill Jack.
It's her perogative.
Okay, I was duped! There were a TON of promotional pictures of Jack and Christian in the hospital, so I thought it was something really important. Dang!
We may have to disregard the photo on this post that I was so excited about.
Sawyer blew it when Rose and Bernard gave him the chance.
She changed her mind because she saw this side of Sawyer...?
If you're going to fight that's the only way to do it.
Yeah, long time coming for sure!
hmmm, Kevin... maybe?
I think she changed her mind because of the way Sawyer looked at Kate.
capcom.. congrats on being comment 108!
Great ep so far...
I keep thinking about the guy at the beginning that wants to kill Jacob.
If the statue IS really a symbol of Anubis, maybe Jacob is Anubis in human form.
And the guy in black is Set, who is the smoke
monster. I found this online, and it could describe what the smoke monster is:
"Set was a storm god associated with strange and frightening events such as eclipses, thunderstorms and earthquakes. His glyph appears in the Egyptian words for "turmoil", "confusion", "illness", "storm" and "rage". He was considered to be very strong but dangerous, and strange. However, he was not always considered to be an evil being. He was a friend of the dead, helping them to ascend to heaven on his ladder..."
melissa.. you were right!
So is it better not to have loved at all than to have loved and loss?
Flight 815 lands in La. Jacob & Ilana adopt Aaron.
I kind of hate Sawyer right this minute.
I can't believe Roger Linus of all people kills Sayid.
No my tv just went out what's going on!
Locke is arguing with Richard about whether he can take Ben into the statue.
He ain't dead yet.
I think Jacob convincing Hurley is kind of lame.
I wonder what's IN the guitar case?
And what's in that darn box?! We better not have to wait until next season to find out. It'll be that coffin all over again.
It's just the Columbus and Dayton station are out I have Cincinnai stations.
Neat Ace, thanks!
So, you can watch, Sayid'sgirl??
So in the opening Jacob was weaving that piece of cloth and when it was done the Black Rock arrived and the cycle began again. What myth of weaving do we have? (Other than the myths where they unweave to delay like Penelope and her suitors.) The time it takes to weave defines the loop.
I can't decide if I think the black shirted guy is there all the time or was the leader at that time.
Swany No I can't ABC in a Columbus station.
Man, what the hell is in that damn box?
Thank you Miles! That's what I've been thinking!
I'm so sad. I guess I'll have to finish watching on line tomorrow.
Now I won't have the finale to rewatch. I have everything else recorded.
The island didn't let the bomb go off?????
Waaaaaaaahhhh!!!!
Oh my gosh! No! Juliet!
Whoa nelly!
Oh that was heart wrenching!!! I don't hate him anymore. Poor Sawyer. . .Poor Juliet. . .
I'll stop crying in a minute.
Someone please catch me up my tv's back now.
Damn you writers!
....................... :-(
That sob from Sawyer was almost as bad as Sun shrieking on the chopper last year.
that was the most heartbreaking scene of Lost I ever saw! OMG!!
holy ****!
Thats all I have to say about that.
I left off where Jack took the bomb to the swan
"Where's the Kaboom? there's suppopsed to be an earth-shattering Kaboom!" - Marvin the martian
I'm heartbroken.
Sayid'sgirl, I think you should just wait and watch it later.. it would lose something in us telling
Oh, duh - Jacob lies in the shadow of the statue.
Agh! Who knows Latin? What did he say?
Wow, that dude's come back to kill Jacob like he said!
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it!!!!! It wasn't him!!!!!!!!!!!
Locke is the guy in the begining w/ the blk shirlt
Don't do it BEn!
So only the leader of the Others can enter - and Locke's dead so Ben is the leader of the others after all?
AGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Bravo! Bravo!
Oh My Gahd.... how can they be so damn good at driving me insane.
Oh lord! What?!
It wasn't the chains,it was the red shirt.West Coasters enjoy.
Good night.
OMG, they really know how to do a season finale!!!!!!!!!!!! Epic!!
I called it! Locke's body was in the crate! It was the guy in black. Two sides, one white, one black. White's been in charge all these years and now black found a loophole and the king is dead.
And yay for Juliet! Loved it! And I even loved the cut to white.
I have to watch that again!
How many times does the poor woman have to martyr herself? I am amazed at the acting this season by Josh Holloway and Elizabeth Mitchell. Outstanding.
Well at least the screen didnt go black like the Sopranos finale...
me too lostIt... me too
Ditto, Memphish! (and yes, I called it on Locke.. just not here.. lol!)
I can't watch it again. It's too painful. And I don't care what Juliet's creepy parents said, they are meant to be together. After time resets - you'll see - they'll find each other again. :)
And with that. . .a pleasure watching with you guys as always. Until 2010. . .
Emmy please? (Josh and Elizabeth)
So, if they reset everything, does that mean that old cast members will be back next season?
And we still don't know why Richard said he saw Jack, Kate and Hurley die. Unless he's been following them and saw the explosion.
Is it possible that the guy in black at the beginning is also the smoke monster? That could explain Locke's convenient disappearance while Smokey was judging Ben, and why Smokey would tell him to do everything Locke says.
Ok one qestion did Sayid die or did they show it one way or another?
They didn't show Sayid die Sayid's Girl. You won't get negative points in the LFL. :-)
I think given how little Richard seems to really know about the Island I'm thinking he lumped the 815ers in with the DI in the Purge, though that doesn't make the most sense either.
So Juliet "jumped" to save him. . .nice symmetry. . .
Man-o-man. I'm agog.
This was by far the best finale yet...I'm still dripping tears from watching Sawyer and Juliet. Well, I can't believe this season is already over. My gosh, what will we all do when it's over for good? (Don't want to think about that, don't think, don't think...)
I can't believe how much I love this show...:(
xxoo
I think Jacob is the good guy. He keeps trying to bring people to the island to prove that people are inherently good. He believes that they have free will and that they are capable of redeeming themselves, of changing their fate by choosing to do good. But it has to be their choice.
The other guy thinks that there is no hope for them, that they will always fight and given the choice, they will choose to do evil.
So how/why did Jacob need Locke to "help him"?
Okay, I need to go digest. And by digest, I mean cry.
See you tomorrow. :)
maybe he needed the real Locke to get his sh*t together and do the right thing, but he was just too pliable. Even in death, I guess.
According to my captions, Richard said, "Illes qui nos omnes servabit" I can't find anything on a search, with that spelling. :-p
I don't know about Jacob. It's like Frank said, when someone goes to the trouble to tell me I have a choice, I figure I don't have a choice.
Oops, make that "ille".
The online latin translator spits this out:
He quae we omnes being saved
We're just under way here, so I haven't read anything....
Holy Crap!!!!!! Jacob!!!!!!! In the flashbacks!!!!!!
Is omnes like omni? Why didn't I take Latin?!!!
My local station is having a segment on time travel with MIT professors.
Consensus is that it's not possible and they're citing paradox. But they can't prove that it's not possible.
One guy says that he doesn't think it's possible to go back in time (because of the potential for paradox) but that it might be possible to go forward in time.
We need a name for the guy in black. IMDB just says Man #2 and it doesn't give me a name for the actor who played Jacob.
The man in black escaped across the desert. . . ;)
And with that in mind, I'll concede that Jacob probably is the good guy. He's out there saving lost souls I suppose.
Which is to say - - let's call him Walter.
Well given that we've got at least months to discuss this, I'm going to turn in. Catch you all tomorrow and over the weekend.
Apply some of the French that I know (which is minimal) to that Latin, I get "He who always saves (or serves?) us"
So Lost2010, "something something we all being(will be) saved?"
Maybe what lies beneath the statue "is what will save us all"???? Omnes, God, "the whole "God save us all" thing???
Anyone wanna try to take a stab at it?
One more thing for Lost2010 and ML especially. I'm sure you were thinking of a particular building as you watched tonight.
Fits in with the whole "God help us all" line they've been throwing around this year.
Interesting Lostit! Tx! I suppose that DarkUFO will have it tomorrow, but it's kinda fun to figure it out by ourselves like Indiana Jones. :-D
I guess it could be "He who saves us all". That would fit.
memphish - Well, during the episode I was mostly crying over Sawyer and Juliet. . .but afterwards, a certain building did come to mind.
Ones apparently means "all".
That sounds good Lostit, I like it!
I've named the black guy esau, Jacob's brother in the bible. They fought each other for a long long time.
Oh well, someone says that at Lostpedia it means "That who we all serve" We were close.
Interesting Joshua.
uh oh...Sayid + Jack + bomb= not good I think.
Since Juliet set off "ze beaumb", does that mean that Chang doesn't lose his arm? Aw heck, is anyone alive? And how can they still be on the beach after the bomb went off? Wow. Many days of discussion ahead. Let's hope for another secret video hint at ComicCon this summer.
No freakin way..Sayid....
Hurley, the superhero- weapon of choice: Dharma van.
I so wish I could be discussing this with someone!!
Doc's commenters say it's "That which protects us all" or "That which will save all of us."
