Tonight marks the return of LOST, with a three hour lost extravaganza. Get caught up with the "Destiny Calls" recap show, then you'll be treated to TWO new LOST episodes: Because You Left & The Lie. From ABC:
In the first part of the season premiere, entitled "Because You Left," the remaining island survivors start to feel the effects of the aftermath of moving the island, and Jack and Ben begin their quest to reunite the Oceanic 6 in order to return to the island with Locke's body in an attempt to save their former fellow castaways. In the second part, entitled "The Lie," Hurley and Sayid are on the run from the cops after stumbling into trouble at the safehouse; the island survivors come under attack by unknown forces; and an old friend offers some shocking advice to Kate in order to ensure that "the lie" remain a secret.So, we could be in for anything tonight. After an 8 month hiatus, boy how I enjoyed that! Episode 1 was better than 2, so I'm very glad they showed them together. I think 2 would have fallen flat after a week wait. In any event they give me a lot to think about moving ahead to next week. Like who the heck were the guys who were going to cut off Juliet's hand? They didn't look like DI, they looked like a foreign army. As for the time skipping I really hope we get some clarification because it didn't seem to me that any rules were evenly applied as we skipped along.
I'll leave y'all with one question to answer while I sleep. When we saw Daniel at the Orchid at the beginning of episode 1 was that a DI era Daniel or was it a post-S4 Daniel back in the days of DI?

But for only 1 last question. If as Daniel says you can't change the past, then how can the 815ers, alive in 2004/5 when Ben turned the wheel be killed by flaming arrows in a pre-2004 scenario?
It's getting very, very hard to understand the rules of time at this point. I hope we get some clarification soon. I also don't see how returning the O6 to the Island changes anything. Desmond, if the rules don't apply to him, yes, but why the O6?

memphish - they can be killed because although they are in a pre-crash time, they are not pre-crash versions of themselves. They've already lived through the crash, the island and the donkey wheel.
You couldn't go back and kill their younger selves, but the "current" versions are fair game.

I keep thinking of the guy in the listening station with Leonard but he was Australian not British. Plus I can't remember where they were stationed. It was the South Pacific wasn't it? And I'm not sure the time would be right either.
