Change. Is it coming? Will it be as surprising and radical as promised? Evangeline Lilly seems to think so as evidenced by her recent gushing on Live with Regis & Kelly. "I have never been so excited about this show before...and the finale of this season is the biggest reveal we've ever given ever in the history of Lost...It is actually a reveal that tells you where the next three seasons are going to take us and it is so exciting and it is such a payoff for any of you fans out there...The reveal is so satisfying, it is so juicy and good."
If that doesn't get you psyched for tonight's episode, I don't know what will. Here we go...

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 463 Newer› Newest»Wait, wait, wait. Is Jack's Dad still alive or is it the drugs talking (and did you catch that Jack is the gay character?). He tells the new doc to call his father and he writes a script as his father. I don't get it!!!!
ange - I guess I am. Maybe Walt has the same power that Des does? I think if he was a vision created by the island, he would have looked the way that Locke remembered him, not older.
I think Walt came back to keep them on the island, thus saving Jacob.
And Ben must know that someone has been looking for the island to make the connection with Naomi.
My guess (which was revised when Kate mentioned that someone would be wondering where she was) is that Kate and Sawyer are together.
I thought there was a male pronoun used to describe the funeral subject. Anyone care to correct me?
So it's the "snake in the mailbox" because it's the thing you think you want and then it bites you? Just checking.
"(and did you catch that Jack is the gay character?)."
Where was that? I missed it?
Also, I'm editing my earlier statement: I think they're going to be mixing flashbacks and flashforwards. They've still got stuff in the past to resolve. And maybe episodes with no flashbacks at all.
memphish - I also thought it was an article, not just an obit.
If Marvin Candle comes on the island leading a brigade of angry Dharma people my life is complete!
well we know they get rescued eventually .
my speculation is that the next season will cover the terms of what happens between now and them getting "rescued" ... its possible that they can have two, even three stories going on:
-the "rescue" mission
-the flash forwards
-the island stories (assuming that people like the others and ben and locke stay)
and of course, how these all relate .
TBP - I thought it was a he as well.
I guess that would fit, Memphish.
I have a bad feeling about how this storyline is going. I don't think I want to watch Jack pining for the Island for three years.
I guess they ran out of flashbacks. Their whole lives have been told already.
melissa...I LIKE IT! And Memphish, I agree.
"So it's the "snake in the mailbox" because it's the thing you think you want and then it bites you? Just checking."
Lindelof & Cuse said they picked that name because one of them mentioned how horrible it would be if there was a snake in a mailbox. And the other goes....how sick would you have to be to even THINK of that?
It was supposed to be something that we wouldn't have expected about Jack.
I think the Snake in the mailbox was Jack = Junkie, but the gamechanger = flashforward/rescue
darkaardvark - I'm not willing to call anyone dead until I see a corpse. And Mikhail's pretty sturdy.
As for the "fallout" question, I meant that both Juliet and Hurley seemed taken aback at Sawyer's actions. When I say "fallout," I mean "will our people somehow judge or banish Sawyer for being that ruthless?"
DAA, Ben says to Jack, what do you have to go back for. Your father's dead, your wife left you, you turned to another man. Something like that.
HAHAHAHAHA!
The Attack of the Blue Darmha Micro Bus of DEATH!!
I don't think Charlie could have swam thru the porthole because that is where the water was rushing in from and it would have been too strong for him to swim against.
I hop Patchy is finaly dead!. But who knows?
Just to throw this out there.
Maybe it is Hanso on the other end of the phone. The Hostile's/Native's made the offer to the Dharma initiative, but they couldn't help themselves and went to far. The Native's purge the island of Dharma and take control. In the outside world, The Hanso Foundation is trying to get back to their investment and find out what went wrong. This is who Naomi works for. They swoop in and indeed rescue everyone, but the Losties wont let it go. How far into the future do we now go in those flashforwards. 2006 (TLE) time line and they realize what they have let happen.
Just an outside the bag theory.... lol
At least now we know:
They EVENTUALLY will get rescued, and Kate and Jack don't die.
Seriously, is Mikhail frickin' bionic or something?
acewebguy - He could have waited until the pressure equalized. There was time, at least, to do that.
The fact that Locke says that Jack's not supposed to make that call, and future Jack says that they weren't supposed to leave makes me think that they do leave on the freighter. The frieghter said that they would be "right there," so there can't be too much time that passes between the call and the rescue.
Memphish, listen again. I think he says "your wife left you, turned to another man" as if to mean she turned to another man, not Jack.
sarah's pretty insensitive not driving jack home after all hes been through .
Yeah Sean, unless they do something on the Island that changes everything and this was our "Five Years Later" Heroes episode.
Okay my eyes hurt from weeping, my brains hurt from being thrown all over the place, and my hand hurts from where the snake in the mailbox bit it. Night all...I look forward to tomorrow's discussion!
Thanks amused2behere. It rubbed me the other way first time around. We'll see. I have to say Jack's facial hair made much more sense given the flash forward. I had lots of questions about timeline before that.
FYI - Lostpedia is farked. Completely.
looks like TPTB are putting us in desmond's shoes .
tbp: farked?
TBP - why's that ?
So when do you think Ben sent Bonnie and Greta to TLG? Post-purpling? That's why "since the sky turned purple" things changed?
memphish:
I can't find the line right now but I agree with a2bh, he said that his wife turned to another man- notice she was pregnant.
And where is Penny? How did she just happen to be trying to contact the island at the exact moment that Charlie was at the controls?
I definitely think it was Hanso on the other side of the phone call.
Well, as we all know by now, the flashbacks we all have been seeing were actually flash-fowards. think psycologically, if you see the same numbers over and over and over again, they get put into your mind and you pick them out of the wierdest places. Think like a new car. You get one, then you start noticing everyone else having the same car. That was why they were so focused on the sequencial numbers, (In the flash-forwards mind you...) Now, Given the fact that Ben was the only evil one with them when they were "Rescued", and he had no other family, why would one of the "Losties" be the only one at the viewing. And why would he ask Kate if she went? And again, her response... "Why would I go to it?" Obviously stating she has hate for him like everyone else does. Remember, the inability to cope with a "New" society after being removed from it can cause pain and trouble to a man, hence Jack's case. I thought it was well put together from the start. P.S. Now you see why they had connections within the Flash-Forwards.
I'm sad about Tom, but frankly, Sawyer's motives were pretty pure. He should have shot Juliet too. I don't believe her either. Crap. Another season of her evil eyes.
hey everyone
just marking my place. . .
i was geeking out over how our beachers were kicking butt in this episode but whoa, what an ending
And still no explanation of why it's called The Looking Glass, or why the logo has a bunny...
argh
Why did Locke concede so easily?
Heh. "Farked."
At least now they have an apology page that loads when you try to get there.
Line is "Your wife left you- moved on with another man." Since Jack wasn't dating a guy before, he's talking about his wife.
memphish - Mikhail said that he thought Greta and Bonnie were in Canada, so they must have gone down before the purpling. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to leave the island.
I think the jamming started after the purpling, though. Maybe that's the whole reason that Ben wanted the purpling to happen - it was his cover for the jamming.
Amused: the white rabbit reference that's threaded through the series also ties into Alice in Wonderland (aka Alice Through The Looking Glass).
memphish said...
Yeah Sean, unless they do something on the Island that changes everything and this was our "Five Years Later" Heroes episode.
In a way, it was. Lost has never gone into the future before. Maybe Jack was transported there by Hiro.
it would make sense if it were ben's funeral .. kate WOULDN'T wanna go because of what he did to the losties - but i also see why jack would be so upset .. because ben, for once, was right and he was wrong .
di-327861 - Zombie Agent Mars?
No, good thought, but the flashbacks were just that.
di- "Well, as we all know by now, the flashbacks we all have been seeing were actually flash-fowards."
Uhm, all of them? Does that WORK? We've seen dead characters have flashbacks.
I gotta disagree here. Maybe there have been some, maybe this season or something, but it can't be every flashback.
I acctually don't think it was Locke's funeral. It seemed at the end of this episode that JAck and Locke are mortal enemies now.
maybe THAT'S why Ben was trying to convince Locke not to push the button. Ah, so.
All a set-up. Sneaky Benry!
When Jack was about to jump off the bridge at the very beginning, he says "Forgive me." Jack doesn't believe in God. Whose forgiveness is he asking?
There has to be some time dimension to the Island. Jack is trying to crash there again to reset things like Desmond and the key, or is it just his own life he needs to reset?
Dang this makes my head hurt.
"Why did Locke concede so easily?"
He didn't so much concede as he was unable to kill Jack. He can't kill people, remember his Dad?
As for the Looking Glass, I think it's clear: Everything's going to go backwards now. Flashbacks become flashforwards.
I think Locke was so quick to concede because Walt told him about the freighter, I'm geussing Walt and Michael ran into on their way out, figured out it was Hanso and came back to the Island. Maybe Locke went off to hide so he could keep from being rescued/carried off the island.
oh, and i give majorrrrr cred to the producers for really being realistic about what would happen in a catastrophic plane crash .. they never really touched down on the psychological impact that their experiences would have on them .. between the trauma and deaths and 'others', i thought jacks reaction was both insane and brilliant .
Aceweb,
He could take a big deep breath and swim out once the room was filled and the pressure had been regulated. That is the same way you get out of a sinking car.
In a future S4 episode, they will probably fill in the blank of whose funeral it was. Kind of like they did with the flashbacks, only this time with the future.
Crossfade, interesting idea about Walt and the freighter. I'll have to think about that one longer though.
I think Hanso was going onto the Island to re-instate the Dharma initiative. So, they kicked out/rescued the losties and set up camp. Maybe some resisted and were killed, hence Jack's mental woes.
Amused,
I agree with you on the Turned to another man line.
Remember that Ben said that they got more than they bargained for with Walt? And Bea asked Michael if Walt ever appeared somewhere they he wasn't supposed to be? Maybe they figured out that Walt could flash through time. That's how he knew that the button was bad.
My theory has been that Walt figured out how to get the monster/island to manifest him to Shannon, but maybe he was flashing through time to her. If he ws traveling backwards through time and having trouble with it, that could explain why he was talking backwards?
Again @ di:
What about the flashfest with the Losties getting on the plane? What about how all of the flashbacks play into why they ended up on the island?
Which flashbacks do you think were really flashforwards and which regular flashbacks?
Charlie didn't WANT to survive. He knew he would just have to dodge getting killed over and over again. That's no way to live your life. He wanted to die for a purpose. To go out with a bang if you will.
Dedjezter, what's up with your avatar? I haven't been able to get it all day.
So does anyone have any guess as to how far forward the flash was? I saw someone say Jack had a phone that looked like the new one in the ads that ran.
Maybe since the purpling, Hanso finally figured out that something was wrong with the Dharma folks. Ben said that "not long ago," he killed everyone - maybe the Purge wasn't as long ago as we thought?
Ok. Here is my thought. The person in the casket s Micheal. If you notice, the funeral looks like it was held in a black neighborhood; possible south central/compton/watts, etc. So I immediately thought that.
Maybe Micheal and Walt did get off the island and told thier story, and that is what alerted the Naomi's people to the possible location of the island.
When the "rescue" attempt, something bad happened and the blame was placed on Mike. That is why Kate said why would she go (because she blames him too).
The casket was sort of small, and Mike was too.
The fact that the funeral seemd to be in a poorer area (and there are tell-tale signs) means that the person was either black or really down on their luck.
memphish - I'm guessing that the flashforward was present day, so it's almost three years later.
Walt's talking to Shannon and Sayid is just the Monster morphing into what the target person wants to see. Like Kate's horse or Jack's dad or Ben's mom. I don't think it was actually Walt who talked to Shannon.
I have to run. It was good coming back here.
GREAT episode.
wow... that was amazing... and I'm so confused
Was it just me, or was Sawyer weird during the whole finale?
I think this episode will be talked about for a long time...
Acewebguy, I sort of agree. But where's Walt? Still on-Island? With Locke? And Danielle who said she wasn't leaving? And Rose and Bernard? The question of who would leave/who wouldn't is still very active. Also, if this is a private vessel, it's not like they could arrest the Others for their murders, kidnapping, etc. Or Kate for her murder.
It could be Micheal's funeral, remember how he betrayed the losties?
Codysmom, I totally agree about Sawyer. It was over 30 minutes in before he even had a line. And then he was so mean to Kate. And he's not telling anyone what he did. I thought for sure he was a goner.
Hurley is my hero!
I'm flabbergasted and confused. Great episode!
I need to watch it again and think.
Goodnight, fellow locos. We've got some mysteries to chew over for a while, though probably not enough to last us until next year.
Bye, Charlie! We loved you.
Hurrrrrrrrrlllllllllleeeeeeeyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!
Memphish,
I don't know. It is here for me, but today at my brothers house, it was just the question mark.
tvguide.com has an interview with Damon and Carlton, discussing Charlie.
I agree on Michael's funeral.
So, (spoiler for this episode) there were 5 deaths rumored a while back, through the rest of the season I would assume. I guess that would be Anthony Cooper, Mikhail Bakunin, Tom, Charlie, and that other Other?
I'm locked on the idea that the freighter was Hanso coming back to set Dharma up again.
How strange was it that Tom was subordinate to Ryan Pryce?
Okay, everyone - I've got to get to bed. See you tomorrow for more!
DAA, Deaths I counted. 10 Others on the beach including Pryce and Tom. Charlie. Bonnie and Greta and I thought frickin' Eyepatch McPatchy Bionic Mikhail, but what do I know. And Naomi.
How does Jin hit 2 people and no dy-no-mite?
I think that when Sawyer killed A. Cooper he killed the only thing that kept him going and also that part of himself. He no longer knows what to do with himself.
memphish said...
How strange was it that Tom was subordinate to Ryan Pryce?
Yeah, I though that was wierd too. I was hoping Tom wouldn't die, I kinda liked him. Plus, he showed mercy by not shooting the three losty assassins.
Yeah I was kind of wondering that about Jin too.
Aye memphish, but I wasn't counting the 7 nor bonnie and greta because they weren't really characters that we'd known about before. I was just trying to figure out whether the spoiler was correct- I guess it was.
So Ben and Alpert and Tom and Mikhail seemed convinced Juliet sold them out, right? Although Ben knew it was actually Alex which is why he took her with him? To keep an eye on her? That was a strange reunion with Rousseau.
I counted 14. 7 Others at first, then the other 3, Charlie, Bonnie, Greta, and Naomi.
Crossfade, I thought you signed off. :) I'm notorious for such conduct. Carry on.
'"Why did Locke concede so easily?"
He didn't so much concede as he was unable to kill Jack. He can't kill people, remember his Dad?'
But Locke shot Naomi - not sure she's dead though.
crossfade said...

me, too!
Signed off? Who has ever heard of such?
It could totally be Micheal in the casket, the betrayal at the end of season two, as stated above, and They did say that they asked Harold to be in this episode, but he declined do to a conflict, so hence the closed casket.
i've been pausing the scene when jack's outside the funeral home and i can almost make out what some of that article says .. all i can find is:
man found .... downtown
the body of ...
then its all blurry . but its on VHS . anyone have better screencaps ?
Mr. Friendly was probably the saddest casualty of the night save Charlie.
Also, does this mean we get to see a Michael flashforward?
Crossfade,
That's what I said... it's Hanso.
funeral seemd to be in a poorer area (and there are tell-tale signs) means that the person was either black or really down on their luck.
Not sure why this means the person would be black? I think that many people who survivie something like a plane crash.....do not adjust well when they get back to "normal" lives. Also, I dont think Jack was anxious to attend that funeral for any other reason than hoping to see Kate.
I was thinking that perhaps the freighter could belong to Penny's father...who def. does not want desmond back in his daughter's life.( this would explain Naomi having a picture of penny and des.
crossfade said:

Yeah I agree completely with you. That's why he started his Greatest Hits list after he seen Desmond have a flash on the way to Jack's dynamite demonstation. He'd decided then that he was going to go with it this time.
I think Ryan was Tom's superior because he was the team leader for the raid.
But after that, Tom was back in charge because he was on the walkie with Ben and he made the decision not to shoot them.
Locke wakes up in the Dharma grave pit which is meticulously maintained by Ben probably. And he realizes he's shot and now his legs don't move given the way he's shoving them aside. He reaches for the dead Dharma person's gun to put himself out of the misery, but can't do it, because he continues to be a non-killing wuss, bionic Mikhail into the fence notwithstanding. And the Island gives him Walt, the one person who was the most connected to the Island other than himself, but who's advice regarding the Hatch he neglected in the past.
So the Island "needs" him, but he's able to walk, to get to the radio tower (and don't even get me started on the logistics of all this) and then he can't do what the Island "needs" him to do? I really don't get it. Then he leaves to prevent being rescued?
One of these days I might make sense of this show. :) But I'm loving the ride in the meantime.
i am just..astonished. all these people commenting on tvguide.com are all "well..that wasn't game changing and i totally called it." but i had NO IDEA. i was dying to know who he was trying to call..when kate got out of the car i nearly fell off of my couch. i cried and laughed so much in this episode..it is def one of my all time favorite episodes. hurley was awesome..jack/kate love which i am SO in favor of and would like to know WHY THEY AREN'T TOGETHER IN THE FUTURE. my heart is broken.
and charlie..omg charlie. and seeing penny on the transmission screen..i almost screamed! i just KNEW she'd find them. love her and des..hope they get to be together.
no clue who died..i dunno how i'm gonna make it alllll these months. arggghhh haha. =[
Kristen,
He threw a knife at Naomi, then pulled the gun on Jack.
Locke and his knives, eh Ded?
I'm sorry, but if people are saying they called the Jack Flashback to be a Flashforward, I need proof.
The main reason I think it was actually Walt and not the Monster morphing into Walt is because he was older. If it was the monster, it would have looked the way Locke remembered him, right?
Could Locke’s paralysis be psychosomatic? From what we saw it was Walt who gave Locke the added motivation to try walking again. How to we know for sure that the island healed him anymore?
ded - thanks for the correction
found screencaps on DarkUfo .
it says the body of a man from new york .. michael is a man, and did he live in new york ?
Also, is anyone else wondering what Jack meant in the last scene with Kate when he said he was "tired of all this lying"?
It seems that when Locke is startled, he is paralyzed for just a short amount of time, then he gets over it. I.E.) When the hatch imploded
Yes Sara, Michael was from New York.
i know! there is just no way someone wouldn't be shocked by the flash forward sequence..even if you guessed it, it would still be shocking because they went there w/that story! and jack=junkie..and kate=with someone else! obviously her and jack got into it or something because when he gets ahold of her he has to beg her not to hang up. bleh.
it was definitely game changing for me..i have felt every emotion tonight lol..didn't know i had all of it in me for a tv show, even though it IS lost! =D
Yeah, I think Michael was from NYC
Don't want to get into a racial thing with you LvMyAussies, but I am black and that is a black neighborhood. hence my belief that it is a black neighborhood. I know there are several poor black communities surrounding LA (which I mentioned).
But I also put that it could be a person down on their luck living in a poor area, but either way I think it is a safe assumption to say that the area is predominately black and that suggests a black person in the casket.
Would Jack cry like that if Michael died? He was really blubbering in the jeep, on the bridge.
Yes, Michael lived/lives/was living/will live in New York City.
lvmyaussies said: is anyone else wondering what Jack meant in the last scene with Kate when he said he was "tired of all this lying"? They could be lying #1 about Kate's identity to protect her from prosecution, and #2 about all the other people who had to die to make this possible, and #3 about Alex, Karl, Ben, Danielle, Desmond's identities if they are rescued too.
I hear you Megan, I have a pain in my chest from the episode!
Memphish: and a wild ride it is, I must say!
We looked at the screencap of the newspaper obit. on darkufo. It doesn't look as if the person's last name was Dawson. While it isn't too clear it looks like the name ends "tham".
Good points Memphish about the lying. At this point, without any further info from next season, that's logical.
Capcom, Jack was blubbering because that's what he does. :D Also, earlier you said Maybe it's the code of Dentists, that they can't lie, heehee. Yeah, right--like me drilling a hole in your teeth for the next hour after I stick you with this giant needle won't hurt, eh?
crossfade - I agree with you that it was really Walt, but remember Malcol David Kelley is a kid and he is changing as he grows up. So it would have been virtually impossible for the producers to have the Walt Locke remembered appear unless they filmed the graveit scene 2-3 years ago.
Hooyah, let the screencaps begin! :o)
WOW WOW WOW WOW...WOW!
any specific spot where it mentions a name ? cause all i could find is "grand" something ... which is likely a place
i know, capcom! its insane how much this episode affected me. i had hoped SO much for charlie to be saved somehow..its just not fair to break up the only seemingly "complete" family on the island [charlie, claire, and aaron].
and my brain hurts on top of all this, of course. i am having trouble processing the fact that they were rescued..but maybe at the cost of a lot of other people.
as far as the "body found in NY", if it was michael, maybe hes upset because he can feel michael's pain in a sense. if michael really did get off the island, maybe something horrible happened to him back home [suicide, perhaps?] and it really affects jack because he's been contemplating suicide for some time. or maybe he's just got so much turmoil inside of him that any death would cause him to freak out.
i think i need to go to bed haha. =]

Was there a wortham on the show somewhere?
Good point about Jack's blubbering Memphish, what was I thinking??!!
Oh yeah, dentists do lie when they tell ya that!
Hey Y'all,
I caught the flash forward perty quick, with the newish phone Jack was using. I was expecting same because, during the questioning at Comic-Con last summer, Carlson & Lindleof said the show would go real world sometime in the 3rd season. But I could't figger out was why Jack was dressing like a lumber jack and dying his beard!
Bout the funeral, there's no doubt in my mind that it was for a black male character. Maybe one we haven't met yet.
Dig Ya Later
Night all.
Man, there's going to be way too many posts to read tomorrow.
Now we know how Desmond feels about flashes into the future. I think we are *supposed* to have this many questions, though.
The big question I think we should be talking about now is- is the rest of the show flashbacks, flashforwards, both, or neither?
Well goodnight everyone - and remember
It could all be a dream in Jack's head (ala JR getting shot on Dallas) and they are still LOST
Well Megan, let's hope that Charlie will maybe be in an island flashback or two next season. I will miss him terribly!
It was at the very top EF. The first line. It says "The body of (insert name here and ends in "ham") of New York was found shortly after four AM in the (blurred) of Grand Ave."
maybe Michael remarried and hyphenated his name with hers?
just grasping at straws, here
All I could get from the story, and I don't think it was an obit, but a story was 4 am. The kid Jack saved on the bridge was 8-years-old too.
A2BH, that's funny.
i agree, capcom..i adore dominic monaghan! i just feel sorry for claire and aaron..and i hope desmond didn't lose his "greatest hits" so he can give it to claire.
on a lighter note, can i just say future kate's hair looks fantastic? that conditioner works wonders. =D
goodnight all..talk to you tomorrow!
Memphish,
If you are still out there.
Does the Avi work now?
If anyone is watching Kimmel that Lost bit was funny.
So everybody but Sawyer threw out nicknames tonight. Naomi called Jack "Moses." Charlie called Mikhail "Cyclops." How cool was that makeup? And he brought his eyepatch with him. Great detail.
Well, I'm gonna hit the sack. See y'all tommorrow.
I don't think that I have ever seen such an awesome death scene as Charlie's. And Dom acted it perfectly, making Charlie look so stoic and peaceful about helping everyone. I really lost it when he crossed himself under the water. Waaaa.
Ded, the avi still isn't working for me, but maybe it's me. I'll go set the DVR for Kimmel now.
So this year's 4-toed statue is "The Temple." What the &*(). That's where the Others are headed. With what sort of offering?
I have to say I was expecting Alex to have the gun Ben gave her in "Greatest Hits" in her version of the man purse.
Did everyone notice that when you only have one eye, you're a pretty bad shot?
Right, she must have had her gun with her.
omg capcom i know . when he did the sign of the cross and also when he showed des his hand and said goodbye .. i lost it too, dude .
You guys are tearing it up in here! I'll have a new post up first thing in the morning!
The new chief of surgery (which as the wife of a surgeon is not that big a deal) was Dr. Hamill as in Mark Hamill as in Luke Skywalker or Dorothy Hamill.
You know if next season is going to be all flashforwards I'm not so sure I'll like that. Guess I'll have to wait and see how they do it before I make a final decision.
I hope that they show Claire finding the ring on the beach for Aaron, EF! :-(
How long does it take Jack to grow that flash-forward beard of doom? He's never gotten much past a bad five o'clock shadow on the Island.
I'm going to watch again, and then rejoin for the west coasties.
Cya all in the mornin'!
Ben confirmed for us the theory that he didn't want Alex and Karl together to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. Where is the giant crate of Dharma condoms? And why wasn't Juliet worried about her afternoon delight with Goodwin? And thank you that she and Jack aren't sleeping together if you believe her. Which I don't. Dang.
Wow, what an episode, my head hurts trying to wrap my brain around TTLG. What a fantastic S3 season finale. I'm going to go to sleep and let my brain try to begin to understand.
Oh, I liked the 'alien' comment from Jules when Sawyer asked Jules about the hard labor on the hydra island. Just for a moment I was feeling a 'The X-Files' crossover or connection.
Ditto on Charlie's demise. That was an incredible performance from Charlie. I hate to see him go as I was starting to like his character.
Charlie RIP and I'll see you in another life brotha
Go read the comments about the obit on DarkUFO guys, it sounds like someone was swinging from a beam. That would be pretty sad, but not sure why Kate still would not care.
It was really funny that Locke was about kill himself at the same moment they were announcing the new American Idol, 8:55 CDT. Then that was followed by a commercial for Boston Legal where William Shatner said it was "every man for himself."
Someone mentioned earlier that on the Map was alocation marked Rascal Flats....
It actually reads Pascal Flats

Yeah Memphish, Jack's turning into Howard Hughes, I bet his toenails are four inches long too. :o)
Capcom, then will he become Jacob with those bottles in the cabin? Ewwww.
Oh crap, I was hoping that it was not Pascal. Too much more to study, as you have shown Ded. :-p
Right Memphish! Oh man. You quack me up!
Well, Jacob does say "Help me" and Jack certainly needs help!
Boy Bonnie's line about following orders really back-fired on her. Ha Ha.
Capcom, you are dead on that Jack needs help. Oh, that makes my head truly, truly, truly hurt. Jack is Jacob and he needs Locke's help to stop himself?!?
okay here is my speculation on the future /past of the show:
next season(4): the battle continues as they wait for the rescue ships. some stay behind, most leave. find out why the island is so special at the end. adds to the pain/ need to lie about what happened.
season (5): characters who leave deal with the consequences of those they left behind - Jacks no more lying comment. start trying to get back - to make things right.
season (6): get back to the island and finally make things right.
i think this finale format is what we can expect for next year as we see how they get rescued and are dealing with picking up their lives.
Before I knew it was a flash forward I thought I understood why it was that Jack could help Charlie kick the drugs back in "The Moth." If it's circular flashes, I give up.
I missed that Memphish, I'll have to catch it on the replay tomorrow. Unless they are in flashbacks, their Lost gigs were short and sweet!
I guess I'll tear myself away from you all now, but it won't be easy to sleep.
Pleasant dreams everyone, if that's possible with our brains so fried!
Hey Again,
My prediction for season 4 is:
The story picks up where this season ened. We will be joining Maniac Jack on his quest to find and get back to Shangrala island. But first he has to put the band back together. There will be flashbacks giving us the backstory of the rescue and repatriation of the losties. Not everyone will be rescued some will stay behind, they will also have flashbacks to bring the story up to date. Also, maybe, the TLE will be worked into the timeline giving Maniac Jack clues to the location of the island.
I'll know better after the Comic-Con interigation, But this is how I call it now.
Namaste Mofo's
Not completely caught up yet, but I have some comments.
capcom, start programming. It did say Pascal Flats on Ben's map.
So if Mikhail died twice, I guess that means he has 7 more lives left?
I called the flash forward thing, too. I was wondering about the phone. I mentioned it to my husband.
Why, oh, why didn't Charlie lock the door AFTER leaving the room? He and Des would have had time to get the gear on and get out before the whole place flooded even if the door didn't hold.
And I'm wondering now if Christian Shepherd might actually be alive...?
I totally expected Locke to show up in the TLG with the sub and frankly I'm disappointed that it didn't happen that way.
I suspect it must be Ben in the coffin. Or Locke. They're the only ones I can think of that Kate would react that way about and that would not have anyone attend the funeral.
So something struck me in Jack's flash. He was responsible for the circumstances that permitted him to be a hero, to fix things. His suicide attempt caused the car wreck, yadda, yadda. Is this repeated at other points in Jack's life?
And on a totally different point, why was Penny on TLG's transmission? Because she's been broadcasting to that location for 20+ days since the Purpling?
I like how Sawyer had another skanky Dharma beer on the beach after he, Sayid and Hurley took down the Others.
We got one timeline "confirmation" and it's different from what I thought. Rousseau says that she changed the numbers message 3 days before Alex was born. This means she killed all her team before she gave birth? I never thought it had been the case that she was alone when the Others took Alex. For some reason I thought she killed her team after that.
Memphish, good point about Penny. The minute the jamming device is turned off, she just happens to be sitting right there? transmitting?
I just wanted to start with - Wow - there are alot of comments!!! I don't know if I have time now to read them all. My head is spinning!
I wonder why at the end of the episode Jack mentions the "Golden Pass" (and flew them at the begining of the episode) if Oceanic Airlines is listed on lostpedia as being out of business?
Oceanic went out of business after the crash. It has only been three months... no way an airline goes under that quick.
Plus it went under in the TLE time line which is seperate from the Lost Timeline.
Damn, thw westies still have an hour to go... lol
I think... lol
I'm willing to say that Oceanic didn't go out of business. That was way back in the we aren't sure how this is going to run era.
So it went out of business after they got found? Aren't we assuming these "flash forawrds" are after the crash meaning Oceanic was done? Maybe I am just too tired but I don't get it ded.
Avi Jpg
Mempish try this link and see if that works...
I am going back to evil Naomi... which is I moan backwards... lol
One More,
Tom said wanted to kill the hostages and the order were a mistake. Ben was working a con and ordered him not to, so he was pissed. Sawyer overheard that and figgered he needed shot.
Nitey Nite
In the Lost Timeline Oceanic is still in business. A crashed plane doesn't crumble an airline.
It is almost like a parallel dimension if you want to think of it that way.
totengraber-
hey your thoughts on s4 sound like what i have been thinking as i read all the posts.
to all-
my big question after the show is when are they? exactly how far removed in the future is jack? How long has this distructive behavior of our hero character been going on? do you think that the hero thing that the guy in the drug store said had to do with the losties and not just the crash. i think Jack has not been able to come to terms with whatever lies they have been telling and is sick of living the lie. now he is living incognito - the grizzly adams beard and unibomber glasses to keep from confronting the truth.
Ded, I can see that avi. I still don't get Locke. He can throw a knife though a stranger to prevent a phone call, but can't shoot Jack? What was the name of the person who answered the phone and why did it take so long?
Another thought I just had...
Has there ever been an Episode that started in the flash back... I can't recall, but I don't think so.
If I am right. This means that the show will now follow the outside world and the Island stuff has become the flashback.
I could be wrong though... lol
Ded, there have been episodes that opened in the flashback, but of course I can't think of one off the top of my head. "I Do" did I think.

Also, Kate said to Sawyer
"I sent Juliet to check out Sun, but she was also there to see if I was pregnant too."
So Juliet lied to Ben about Austin's sample.
the link I posted was in the live podcast I was just listening to...
:50 minute's and counting until Maven Blows her top... lol
The Wolrd Championship of Karaoke is over!!!
The forward flash is now, today. The "lies" are the deal they made with the DI or Hanso to protect the secrets of the island. The black guy is dead because he couldn't keep the secret.

me, too
I'm thinking my daughter has it right.... Jacob is "future jack"
Holy $&%*!!! Just finished watching. What the hell is going on! Got to catch up some comments. That was mindblowing.
Totengraber, you got it. Ben obviously wanted Jack to think the Three Muskateers were killed, but ordered the shots fired into the sand. Ryan argued that it was orders to do so, but Tom thought they should have killed the Losties for killing 7 of the Others.
Hmm...sad to see Mr Friendly die, I thought he had potential. But he showed his true colors, and Sawyer did owe him for the raft incident with Waaaaaaaaaalllt! Karma, indeed.
RIP, Charlie. Claire is going to be so sad.
What if in the future Claire ends up a heroine addict because she just wanted to know what it was like for Charlie...
Codysmom, I'm thinking that about Jacob and Jack too. I'm thinking Jack/Jacob needs Locke and Ben to help him stay on the Island. Why? Beats me because of the fertility problem.
Someone I heard on the last pre-finale Jay and Jack suggested that TLG girls were there to get pregnant, but I don't think that would fool the Island. Bonnie was very, very angry. She hit Charlie a ton in the face. I don't think I could do stuff like that. Great didn't seem to be able to either.
Why did Juliet go back with Sawyer? Kate's ruler measurements swung the ping pong rather than the poker way?
addiction homage?
lol
